@Carbonfox1 usually MPAs are based on airliners or cargo aircrafts. If u choose to build a fighter have in mind that u got to fit all the equivalent sonar/electro-optical equipment plus the weapons. It must be a well designed aircraft with many features...
As a heli pilot I really like this build. It has a sleek design and its packed with many features. But, I think u can re-design the flight controls and the handling responsiveness of the chopper. It flies nice but not smoothly. Also, by placing the cockpit block into the front e/o sensor it creates a disorienting view. Anyway, its one of the best helos in game and I really enjoyed flying it!
@DerpyCookie17 u can arm any plane with any weapon. But, in judging process ur aircraft will be assessed for its time of deployment and equivalent equipment.
@DerpyCookie17 OK, it seems that u got really confused. Lets take it easy.
1) 8 wing pylons for armament are allowed. Probably, 4 under each wing.
2) if ur plane has an internal weapons bay (like the P-3C Orion) then its allowed another 6 pylons for armament.
-So far we got 8 + 6 = 14 pylons max allowed.
Now, because its an MPA u can put max 30 sonobuoys that will be designed by u. Google it for more info and how they look.
3) the aircraft can be fictional or replica. It doesn't matter. Catalina is ok.
4) no need to put heavy missiles on it. U can use also free-fall bombs or torpedoes.
@Potato21 The L-21 can be massively upgraded. First of all, u can design a better and more streamlined cockpit. Also, u can re-design the engine nacelles and make them more efficient during hover. Also u can add more equipment such as FLIR, pods and remotely operated gun.
@Potato21 Thats a very good design with a lot of room for improvement. It flies very nice and the handling is smooth (at least for me who I use a gamepad). Why did u use two propelers in each nacelle instead of a single engine with modded power output? I know u r an iOS user (bliah!) but there are many modded parts posted to use for ur aircraft. Also it would be my pleasure to see u participating in my MPA Challenge with an innovative aircraft design!
@Zeruak Max permissible underwing pylons is 8. You got 12 pylons under the wings. Please re-design it. You can move the weapons to the internal weapons bay where the rules say max 6 pylons. You got room there. Sorry for the inconvenience but rules are rules. Thank u for participating!
@ZYHUnited u can put up to 8 pylons under the wings (4 + 4)
If u also have an internal weapons bay, then u can put another 6 pylons there
If u want to arm ur aircraft with sonobuoys (common armament of MPA) then u can add up to 30 of these.
So, in total u can put 8 + 6 = 14 pylons for missiles/torpedoes/bombs etc and 30 extra sonobuoys.
@pilotred233 You can test it in the default game map, as long as it can t/o from Yeager, fly over target area, sink the USS Beast + 2 Destroyers + USS Tiny in one run, return and ldg at Yeager. The unpublished map will test other things such as agility, maneuverability, mission multirole capability, handling, range, performance, etc
@asteroidbook345 I know that and thank you for pointing that out. Unfortunately, mobile and iOS users cannot compete with PC users in terms of detailed builds and xml modding. If u wanna take part in challenge via a mobile/iOS platform u can do ur best an when upload it just put a note that clarifies it.
@asteroidbook345 XML moding is almost necessary in order to create aesthetically nice and aerodynamically stable aircrafts. XML its not a basic/primary judgement criterion.
@F104Deathtrap I emphasize on modern aircrafts and modern air-to-surface warfare tactics. Also, guns and canons can be part of the aircraft as long as they are defensive and not attack equipment. Except fighter aircarfts.
@QingyuZhou Noise is still high but new materials and new techniques will bring the noise into internationally accepted levels. see that for more info: https://www.safran-group.com/media/safran-celebrates-successful-start-open-rotor-demonstrator-tests-new-open-air-test-rig-southern-france-20171003
@QingyuZhou Propfan is a new type of engine that's still under development and quite promising. Less fuel consumption with high sub-sonic speeds (~400mph). This is what modern airlines want from their aircrafts.
@mikoyanster Thank u very much. Here is the link for a detailed image as u instructed me https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uzkLRK63-WIAX8BSWh6T5zSOiGqRzp2V/view?usp=drivesdk
In the right part write Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) Challenge.
Thank u a lot!
@mikoyanster What mod did u use in order to put images in screenshots for the challenge post? It looks better to have an image than building the letters urself...
@mikoyanster I'm writing down the rules, based at ur challenge format. I'm currently in the process of thinking the fligh trial judgement and how to make it video so the players can see that. Can u provide me a shareable dropbox link with the Word format of ur previous examle. I want it so I can achieve the Bold, Italics and red letters....Thank you for ur kind attitude and ur help.
That's a very promising effort with many good features. I hope to see more of u! Btw, I'm also Greek and don't hesitate to ask me anything about the game. Feel free to check my builds and take ideas and building techniques. I will keep an eye on u and ur progress. Καλή αρχή αδερφέ και καλώς ήρθες στην κοινότητα του SP!
Thats a great design, even better from the swept wing. You have a great potential and this build proves that. I have just a couple of notes to highlight:
1) The landing gear is quite aft of the CoM and thus making takeoff harder.
2) The internal weapons bay could be in tandem configuration in the centerline axis.
3) Where are the flaps??? This beast needs flaps for low-speed handling.
@Sgtk This is a great aircraft with a lot of potential. Im working on a Maritime Patrol platform and I have tested many planes here. Your design looks promising and has a great handling. If it was a little bigger (length ~70ft and wingspan ~85ft) I would consider it seriously as my next maritime patrol and ASW aircraft.
@Supercraft888 @Itamar3553 Thank u guys for helping me with my design. U have some credits dedicated to u in the last part of the description. Pls enjoy!
@WNP78 Actually I really loved that aircraft and I paid a lot of attention to details and custom weapons. I tried to do my best and give the TSR2 the glory it should have.
@MI 1st. F-16 is NOT a light fighter. It has a MTOW of 45-48.000 lbs. 2nd. This is a challenge created by a player with specific rules and limitations. If u cannot meet the criteria then do not participate at all. Its not polite to say to the challenge creator that is an egoist or that he does not want his plane to lose. 3rd. It happens to know @mikoyanster and many things about his game mentality and I reassure u that he is very strict with his rules in challenges because he wants to be fair and have a creative result. No egoism or selfish behavior on him. 4th. By saying that " I've made a light fighter with only default parts, and I bet it's better than some of the things you guys can put out!" proves that you are selfish, egoist, immature and have no modesty at all.
PS: That's all from me. Please keep in mind that I'm telling u all these just to protect u from future behavioral mistakes. Have fun and good luck with ur participation!
@mikoyanster Thank u a lot for ur special personalised invitation. I would be glad to participate with my current project which happens to be a training/light fighter aircraft. I wish u good luck with that challenge! Will talk soon when Im going to upload it.
I love this little fu@#er!!! It flies so smooth and the details are so carefully crafted. It fits my designing aspects in every way! Great handling, realistic performance and lovely tactical grey camo! Keep impressing us, dude!
Aircrafe meet the rules. Its ok. Good luck aviator!
@DestinyAviation Yes it's ok. Rules allow that.
@Carbonfox1 usually MPAs are based on airliners or cargo aircrafts. If u choose to build a fighter have in mind that u got to fit all the equivalent sonar/electro-optical equipment plus the weapons. It must be a well designed aircraft with many features...
Now its ok. Good luck!
@mikoyanster check this nicely done Super Puma
@mikoyanster let me look into that and I will come up with something. Im not good at building helos in SP but O have seen some really clever designs.
+1As a heli pilot I really like this build. It has a sleek design and its packed with many features. But, I think u can re-design the flight controls and the handling responsiveness of the chopper. +1@F104Deathtrap It's ok. Just remember to add detailed instruction in description.
@DerpyCookie17 weapons must be attached to hardpoints. I think that's quite clear.
@DerpyCookie17 8 max on wings and 6 max in bomb bay. Simple and clear. Also, AEW its a different role. this is MPA so we talk about ASW/ASuW role.
@1918 very nice aircraft with a lot of potential! If u r interested in my challenge u can participate with an AL2-21 variant!
@DerpyCookie17 u can arm any plane with any weapon. But, in judging process ur aircraft will be assessed for its time of deployment and equivalent equipment.

+1Aircrafts with less than 100 parts will be disqualified. Your plane has only 23 parts.
@Potato21 Thats a very good design with a lot of room for improvement. It flies very nice and the handling is smooth (at least for me who I use a gamepad). @MEERKAT978 Very interesting choice! Im looking forward to see ur build.
+1@ZYHUnited its an acoustic torpedo for sonic detection of submarines. See that for detailed info
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonobuoy
@ZYHUnited u can put up to 8 pylons under the wings (4 + 4)

@ZYHUnited of course!
@RYANF34 you download the challenge post and start building on it. When u will post it, it will automaticially be classified as successor.
@MEERKAT978 tiltrotors according to FAA are VTOL aircrafts. In this challenge the main design is a fixed-wing aircraft.
+1@pilotred233 If there is no internal weapons bay it doesn't count. But if u put internal weapons bay then u must put ur hardpoints over there. Clear?
+1@pilotred233 You can test it in the default game map, as long as it can t/o from Yeager, fly over target area, sink the USS Beast + 2 Destroyers + USS Tiny in one run, return and ldg at Yeager. +2@arcues seaplanes CAN compete as long as they have retractable landing gear and are ok with other rules too.
@asteroidbook345 XML moding is almost necessary in order to create aesthetically nice and aerodynamically stable aircrafts. XML its not a basic/primary judgement criterion.

@CRJ900Pilot Yes, it's eligible. Marginal but acceptable. Go on my friend!
@mikoyanster A HUGE thanks for helping me with setting up the challenge!

@mikoyanster That could be very helpfull and thoughtfull of u. So, u can prepare the challenge image and upload it as unlisted for me to use?

@CRJ900Pilot Thanks a lot! It was the best I could do with my previous F-177I Lahav aircraft. I really loved that aircraft and its abilities!
@EliteVox Thank u my friend for ur help but this question has been posed almost a year ago. I have figured it out.
@MI 1st. F-16 is NOT a light fighter. It has a MTOW of 45-48.000 lbs.
