@Brields95
They were not, and the wing tips were swept quite a bit more. The original aircraft was very difficult to fly as a result. I figured it should fly in-game so some minor changes were in order ;)
@FrankieB
Whatever you say. I think my point was pretty clear, I'm here to build plans, not conversate with the mentally deranged who think this is a social media site. Whether I'd vote dem or rep has no impact over my aircraft design. That simple.
@FrankieB
I would build planes. I didn't know political opinion had anything to do with plane design and flight/physics simulat. I would like it if the county didn't fall into ruin. Just saying.
Any stipulation on carriage of weight? Can I leave VTOL engines on the runway or does the aircraft have to bear the weight? This would be an important detail to add, as I have been disqualified in the past for building super fast aircraft that don't carry their engines.
This was a weird on to build. I like how it turned out but it definitely needed an adjustment or two. I got used to the config. but it was hard to fly at times.
@OminousGloom
Exactly. Like your X-51, SCRAM jets are usually dropped from a "mother ship" and are capable of extremely high speed flight. This one is just a proof of concept because it is quite slow. I have a VTOL version that hauls but I'm not happy with the way it turned out.
@OminousGloom
I built a very basic proof-of-concept SCRAM but it needs about another 2,400mph to really be true to form.

Great challenge! I'm not entirely sure about its feasability, but I'm inspired to give it a go. BTW's, no failed attempts when it comes to aviation (even simulated), just methods that haven't worked yet. TO THE DRAWING BOARD! ;)
@Viper28
Yes! Building it now. Thanks

@planes223
Color photos from that era are hard to come by. The last XP-55 in the Smithsonian is painted Army green.
@Kimo
Thank you!
The original aircraft can be found here:

@Kimo
Great airplane! You really went above and beyond on this one. The detail is amazing.
@oddbot22
How so? I'll make some adjustments.
Easy does it.
What a beast! Nice one!
Show off ;)

LOL, mmmmmmkay

Not bad. Aircraft length would help with lateral stanility, as would a more significant vertical stabilizer. Great design nonetheless.
@FrankieB
Good luck with that.
Great job
@ShatterFox
LOL! Nice
Great engine! I just built the Brydger using it and it hauls!

What are you, Trump's lapdog? Stick to airplanes and cut the political BS.
@IStoleYourMeme
Ummmm, what?
Trump is a douche.
Kinda needs to takeoff and land for it to works
Wow! Well done, this thing is sweet!
Sweet!
@@Stingray
Sweet, thanks.

It's hard to believe it's only ten parts. Nice one!
She's squirrelly, but nice. Great design.
I built a very similar aircraft with bomb bay doors. This was built pre-weapons.

Might help with a few ideas. You're on your way to a sweet plane. Just have to work out the details.
That is friggin sweet!
A very awesome machine. I really wanted the para-wing to work but this version is great!

@salvador3031
Will do.
@salvador3031
Thanks! Challenge?
Interesting idea, nightmare to fly.
@goboygo1
Thanks!
@Pauciloquent
Wow, she is sexy ;). Takes a sure finger and a keen eye to manage the responsiveness, but a damn fine aircraft nonetheless.
@OminousGloom
I uploaded my second SCRAM Jet installment. This one definitely moves.

Great design. She's a handful at speed but there is definitely some potential here.

Seriously awesome plane! One of the best and it's so simple. Well done.
Sweet machine! Give it some air and it really moves (i.e. get some intakes on this thing). Great potential and one hell of a design.
Any SCRAM-Jet plans?
@EvilGenius
Thank you!
Great aircraft (Kimo) and interesting design for the carrier but is there a way to cut the cage away without it destroying the aircraft?
@voodyn
Thank you!
@Pauciloquent
Thank you! It definitely turned out differently than the original design idea, but I'm happy with it.
Your aircraft is damn close. Add another prop blade and increase the thickness to max and it's pulling 737ish.
