this is a good simple build.
but I had to setup somethings to make it fly nicer...
-moving the gyro to AG-7
-adding 15° to pitch and roll on the cyclic
I was surprised at how well it flies without gyro, and how easy it was.
great job :)
Very cool, impressive detail and pretty good flight model.
great job on that.
I wish the cockpit had the same detailing in it's functionality tho.
Pitch trim could be handy as it tends to nose down...
just my thoughts, very nice build either way :)
@SpiritusRaptor oh no, I'm trying to get the whole thing in one go ;)
basically fly the trench the whole way in flyby view as a personal challenge thing.
Link to the AC-42/A Orca
Here's the link to the Orca and all it's variants, as players are asking for tags.
The one I use in the video is a bit more powerful and unstable then the uploaded Civilian version.
@Typhoon03 yeah the discord is there, but I haven't touched it in months....
The Orca is out btw, but this is possible with a lot of aircraft.
just need to figure out the in and out angles ;)
That looks like Retreating blade stall.. It's what limits helicopter speed IRL.
Think of the rotor blades as they spin, one side heading into the flight direction (Advancing blade), one heading away from flight direction (retreating blade).
If the blades speed is 100MPH, and you are flying at 100MPH:
the Advancing blade gets 200mph of lift, while the Retreating blade gets 0MPH of lift, causing it to Stall, and the advancing blade's lift causes the roll.
hope this helps @2Papi2Chulo
This thing is really cool, and very well made!
Love the Helicopter flight model (with what you can achieve in SP)
I also like that you need to learn to fly it.
It's not hard to fly, but it is hard to fly Good ;)
@V2 It's all good, I think the points should go to newer players anyway, or to the makers of the parts I used ;)
your adjustments to the cockpit and "debugging" little things was more than enough help :)
This is for players who want to Edit, Replace, or take stuff for their builds.
Or just see how its built.
some parts are not mine, and if used should credit the Original makers:
- 1Parts HUD by @PlanariaLab
- The Radio and Transponder in the Civilian version were made by @Thacatbaron
@Neopolitan Thank you, glad you like it :)
Human experimentation, weaponized Tiberium, Flamethrowers, Terrorism, Genocide....
what's not to like about NOD? :P
@FlyingPotato_131 Cheers :)
I'm working on a video for taking the Orca apart so players can take what they want from it, and also a bit of a flight tutorial.
@FlyingPotato_131 Mass mainly...
making sure the connected parts are light enough so the don't bend the connection.
Also I use Regular large rotators in most places, not the small rotators.
Updated the XML, the left buttons on the Radio affected Yaw control surfaces I had set to "None"...
so it made the Orca roll violently.
fixed now.
Thank you @Opera for noticing.
@Charris969 no worries, I just went through all the players asking to be tagged.
and it's been a long time since I uploaded the first teaser of this.. (too long :P)
I have a few friends playing trailmakers, looks like a good game, I just didn't connect with it myself ;)
@SimpleplanesJP11 try this link
I tested it now.
for some reason it removed the updated XML.
let me know if it works
I love how simple it is.
+1really nice.
looks cool, but I wish the tracks would actually move...
+2pretty cool airport and island.
the helipads are broken however...
doesn't the tail wheel rotate in any way?
+1no taxiing?
NM... a list of control would be helpful..
or in the aircraft instructions.
@MrCOPTY cheers dude, was just sharing the info if anybody else wants to try ;)

Very impressive!
+1I got a couple of things this will fit perfectly in!
Very cool, impressive detail and pretty good flight model.
great job on that.

@AmazingMaxie Really happy you like it :D
I'm glad you made you own modifications, looks pretty cool :)
pretty good helicopter, wish it had more authority without gyro.
MP server 14.49.119.147 is back on
+3I Like it!!
very very nice!
pretty realistic, feels like a beast ;)
nicely done!
@Aviator01 it's a bit more powerful then the regular civilian one, more powerful, less stable in hover..
+2@Echostar thank you :)
fun challenge with almost any aircraft that can handle the wind
@SpartanSR91 Ouch that sounds like a pain...
glad you're back and things are running :)
Turn them into Mud!
+2nice build, and one of my favorite games!
@SpiritusRaptor oh no, I'm trying to get the whole thing in one go ;)
basically fly the trench the whole way in flyby view as a personal challenge thing.
Very cool car!
+1nice!
I've been trying to record a full trench run using only flyby camera..
but it's a hard one to pull off ;)
@PPLLAANNEE 121.174.105.198 there's this one, not sure who runs it but it works pretty much 24/7...
+6tho it's mostly empty
@SpiritusRaptor Thank you very much!
helps to have a build that can pull it off ;)
@Typhoon03 I'll send it to you over discord, as I'm not sure who runs it, and they did remove their link to the IP...
@PPLLAANNEE yeah the new main server seems to disconnect every 2-3 weeks :\
+2@Echostar Thank you! :)
it's one of those things that's hard the first time, but not that hard after that.
@Brayden1981 added a link, hope you have fun with her :)

Nice, thanks.
+1I'll give it a go later on today
@GDIcommander Welcome aboard commander :)
Hope the new Orca serves you well.
YES!!!!
The Wacky Flappy is real :P
Very impressive!
nice helicopter

a bit too crazy to control, but hilarious :D
