@Nexy12
I like the NX class too! nice lines, and the sort of twin boom design also applies to this plane too lol
The tech was limited on purpose, because I didn't want to make an OP plane as the first operational Accilian jet fighter.
@AntiAirNuri So in the forum, in the useful links pinned post, (should always be there) there should be a link that says "markdown formatting" or something like that. It shows exactly how to do all kinds of stuff, including headings, bold text, and, in fact, images. You have to use an image hosting website (I use ImgBB) to input the link to the file itself in the link portion, and put anything you want in the alt text portion. That formatting page also has syntax.
Some agility tips:
-use semi-symmetrical airfoils on the wings
-Use all moving tail fins (Add the tail surfaces onto rotors with the Pitch axis and set the rotational amount to 10-15
-keep the weight low
-Align the COM so that the sphere is only slightly touching the COL. You lose out on stability but gain massive amounts of agility.
Regardless, the plane looks good, and there's a lot of stuff in here that I didn't learn until about 6 months playing SP, so there is a ton of potential!
I found that auto roll is caused by weight imbalance. Sometimes the designer (for whatever reason) nudges a part automatically by an amount so small it is imperceptible without looking at the XML data. This random nudging causes the COM to shift very slightly off center, which causes auto roll.
Solution: make sure all center-line parts have the same X-coordinate and them mirror the design. Although I am sure you cant really do that with this build because it is probably asymmetrical in composition, but for future reference the solution is here. feel free to spread the word.
I find the contrast between the red and purple an interesting choice, but I think it was pulled off quite well here. Awesome build! Really gives 262 vibes!
@GeorgianIndustries Yeah that is acceptable
@Shootlegger There is no specific pilot required to be modeled in the build itself, but basic information on a pilot for story purposes would be greatly appreciated.
@AtlasMilitaryIndustries by all means!
@AntiAirNuri Acceptable evaluation. The tactics used by pilots were more energy fighting-oriented but I agree it does suffer in the maneuverability aspect.
@ShinyGemsBro I think redesignating it as a B variant makes sense. The two listed names, Project 8121 and AF-03, are the company's internal name and the Accilian Air Force designation, respectively.
Regardless, the ordered aircraft are on the assembly lines and will be shipping shortly.
Never played 2, but I have played Joint Assault and 7 and have to say I love the '27.
As for the roll problem, there's a quite simple yet excruciating solution that requires manual repositioning via XML of every centerline piece.
Things I noticed:
- The body modeling and shape is actually really accurate
- I noticed you also use the Inferno model as standard missiles as do I
- Theres no afterburner flame (not necessarily a bad thing)
- You stayed true to source material and didn't give it countermeasures (even though it does in 7)
- The inclusion of 6 standard missiles instead of 4 is an interesting choice, probably referencing Infinity (and 7) with the MSTM SP weapon
- I don't believe there are two guns, just one in the nose, or wingroot depending on the game
These are not necessarily bad things, just little things I took notice of.
I've been waiting for an excuse to build a early cold war jet for ages. It will definitely be a departure from my near-future dogfighting machines, but hey. that's part of the challenge.
wow that's a... sizable amount of weapons...
lesgooo Twin Boom Gang!
@Simplememes sounds cool!
Impressive 2
(This is actually really cool!)
It is a good day to die
+1@Nexy12

@TwistedWarshipDude Nice! Good to know someone else uses purple too. In my case, besides the roundels, I just have purple wingtips
Ok I didn't see this coming! 10 points for creativity!
+1@Shootlegger not exactly sure... Too little entries to tell
@Shootlegger I could see that
@ArchanisSpider damn it took me 2 years to get silver. I then had some credibility and my builds got more attention.

very sleek! packs a lot of missiles too!

+1@MarinoMarinotheYeet there is no limit, but I'd prefer it to be around 1-2.
@Esjope you could do that too lol
+1@Shootlegger I took a look and I have to say it looks great! I'll have to test it for flyability and stuff tomorrow though
The plane definitely looks the part, but I'll have to test it tomorrow
Crisp
@TwistedWarshipDude @LieutenantSOT
I look forward to seeing your entries!
@Esjope Yep any era. You could even do something 100 years in the future if you wanted
+1@AtlasMilitaryIndustries Any number is allowed, but I'd recommend sticking with 1-2.
@EngineerOtaku You could make it public or unlisted. Up to you, just provide a link if it's unlisted
@GeorgianIndustries Yeah that is acceptable

Is that... a pusher radial?
+3I am happy to answer any questions!
Amogus
@SuperSuperTheSylph that may or may not be intentional
+3@AtlasMilitaryIndustries Agreed
@AtlasMilitaryIndustries thanks a ton! Being a P-38 fan, the decision came naturally.
Took a while but It's done
Phoenix Aircraft Works F-17
no, no, no. light speed is too slow
We must go straight to
L u d i c r o u s S p e e d
+4The Corsair has to be just about the coolest looking plane of the war
Now this... I like this.
I'm getting ASFX Shinden II vibes from the intake
<< This aircraft is my body. I must put my soul into it>>

+1Actually looks pretty wicked...
+1I'm assuming this is a drone? Regardless the design shows great promise!
This is an avengers level threat
+4@50CalChicken It's the full name of the experimental Tiger II variant with a 105mm gun
@GeorgianIndustries sounds good to me
@GeorgianIndustries We have a deal! Models are on the assembly line and will be shipped shortly
@Shootlegger that was an unintended side effect lol
maybe it's because of similar design queues?
