sometimes an aircraft is too maneuverable. It's a balancing act between maneuverability and controlability. if your tail surfaces/canards have too much authority than it causes instability.
Then again you could always just create a flight model 100% independent of the plane's actual design.
well for the custom wings, I mostly align a fuselage sideways with circular corners and a height of .5-.25, build the wing our of fuselage parts, then grab a wing piece and place it at the root, make the wing piece roughly the same shape as the fuselage piece. I then nudge the wing to fit inside of the fuselage pieces and usually set the scale to .5/use 50% thickness.
Thats how I do it. as for the flaps Im not exactly sure... I make flaps but they behave more like airbrakes.
@ThomasRoderick true, true.

+1Actually... This gives me an Idea... I've never really done mid-wing engines before...

@RedFox65 ok fair enough
+1I think the Guardian is more similar in function to an AIM-7 though...
+1Looks good
+1@Northsoutheastthrop but hey it's the thought that counts
+1@DragonAerotech Yeah, that's true. In hindsight I probably should have put a smooth function on the flaps.
+1@FiveN I can see why

+1I will watch your career with great interest
+1The Wyvern is done!
