Jesus man, this is by far the best design ive seen on this site, the main problem why i had given up on this game; is becuase this game was becoming less about airplanes, and more about random builds; but your build has restored some intrest, so to you sir, my upvote.
@LordofLego, when i first made this it didnt roll, however there are some things i should point out that may be the problem.
1.There is an unnecessary vertical flap underneath the fuselage, try removing that.
2. Remove the motor for the canopy, these things contribute to the wieght imbalance; when i designed this on PC it worked flawlessly.
@ElijtheGeat Keep in mind, the CoM needs to be slightly in front of the wings, about 1/4 length starting from the nose; it insures excellent performance and will prevent it from even considering freespins, the side effect of course is it will be slightly nose heavy. It can be fixed though by lowering the V.T.O.L. nozzles a little lower.
Secretly, the J-20 is one of my all time favorite Jets, you did a wonderful job with this build, one way to insure airflow to the rear engine to remove some blocks in front and put structural wings to cover, the wings wont impare the airflow.
Man did i choose the wrong time to opt out of this game, i was always considering going into the directory files to modify custom values for certain tools, but was worried the mods wouldnt work on other devices. Turns out it works fine.
Nice one Xwing! I really love the performance this design pushes out, one way you can help the takeoff is to make the landing gear slightly dihedral so it has more stability.
@Zing2000, im not leaving at all, i commented on "last jet i will be uploading," i enjoy this game and will continue to download everyones awesome builds, but surely i do mean it when i say, this is the last Jet i will build.
5 stars for the jet, its a tad tail heavy though, which is why its buckling; make certain you use the CenterOfMass tool, the center should be just in front of the wings.
@thomasjaf, i was originally going to make the thrust vectoring an activation group, so you could toggle it on and off, but so long as your some what gentle, the Jet is pretty submissive under low pitch. Pull to hard and the acrobat side of the Jet takes over.
Thanks Scriefers, i like your models too, they are ridiculously high in deatail and fly stably, never mind the kids, as long as a few people really enjoy them, i dont mind what they rate the plane as. Funny thing though, this Jet is getting more rates per download than any other jets ive made... even if a few are negative...
The power is Fine, but on an honest note, the "throws" on your aileron/elevators need to be thin, but long, when you create bulky short flaps, the simulated air pressure wants to ride along the the smooth part of the wing, cuasing the plane to "jerk" when when used. I wanted to correct my F35, but it cuaght on to quick to repair in time.
Love the design, very creative, and the Description is very good as well. For some honest critisism, you can make the plane much more agile and stable by straightening the wings out, and making them slighly longer, "slightly."
Huh, thats wierd, another guy around here had the same thing happen to his Jets, it shouldnt be doing that. Guess its a glitch between cross platforms at the moment.
Thats not very kind, do you understand the flight controls? It takes a bit of practice at first, but i assure you, this is the most simple/stable transitional vtol jet model.
@darrylcn, post as many as you'd like.

Little hyper-link that says "Predecessor" tells you who was the original builder was.
@IMDABEST, more or less this information goes out to you.

Thanks TheLatentImage, i was trying to get as much function into this thing as i could, dont forget to try out the rudder brakes and weapon doors.
About a week ago, but then it glitched out and wasnt visible to other people. :(
Believe me I tried too, there isn't much room however for both aesthetics and function though.
Nice one, but i think Thrust vectoring might have been an easier route than pure flap control. Your are welcomed to see my SU-37 for a better notion.

Bravo man, bravo. 5 stars.
5 stars from me sir, great plane, way to think outside of the box.
Holy C*ap this plane is stupidly stable, i shut of the engines and the thing maneuvered & glided forever, 5 stars for you sir.

Yeah, this game makes planes more flimsy than they should be if you have the settings on low, so if the wings are falling off, turn up the quality.

Dont mind the speed thing, this game has a throttle for a reason, anyone telling you "its too fast" is simply Jealous of your design at the moment
This is pretty impressive, and if its one thing ive learned from this sim, is existing designs fly great! (Except the Typhoon)
Please turn up graphical settigns to atleast medium.
This is odd, the wings should not break off, have you tried increasing graphical quality?
Thanks daniel, and Mike, i actually do these on my laptop.

Nvm, i didnt read the descriptions, its cool, :D
Looks like you took my design and put new vents, a zero for you sir.
A little too sensative on the Roll, and not enough on the Pitch
Nice little Plane, but needs bigger wings for added lift.
