@LogoAndCars1 Oh yeah windows doesn't like .exe files because if they are malicious they can cause damage but IA Image Importer is safe and just runs some python scripts. Hope you enjoy!
Just a little short to show off the IA Raycaster's sprite texture-switching.
I've taken a break since the last update since I was close to burn out but I hope to get a finished product out soon enough. There's still a lot that needs to be done, mostly in game mechanics since graphics are about 80% complete. Thanks for Watching!
@Spacepickle3214 Gun sprite(s) will definitely be coming, but I don't plan to add sprite bullets that you can see moving since Doom didn't feature that.
-Took a long time compared to the rest of development, but sprites are finally integrated into the IA Raycaster! I plan to add more features like animation and sprites being able to move. One step closer to Doom in SP!
-Also gives a tour of an expanded map
-Note: You may notice some walls in the distance looking a bit weird, and that's what an unrendered wall looks like and looks normal once you get closer.
@THEPotatoguy007 Thanks! And what's cool is if you reverse the direction of the gyro while an engine is running you can easily switch it's direction while its running. That feature isn't on this car though
Awesome! Back when I worked on piston engines I got over the issue of not being able to control direction of spin by adding a gyroscope engine as part of it to make it more stable. You can check out my old piston powered car to get an idea of it. Love to see stuff like this on the website good job!
@asteroidbook345 oh I read your comment incorrectly. This won't always automatically center the image in the label, you'll probably want to change the position of the label itself to center wherever on a craft you need it. Also, modifying the label is usually fine to do so it might crash on your device due to hardware limitations
@CalebRepublic This basically works by converting the image pixels into rich text that labels can read. I made the program in Python, and it wasn't super hard you could do it if you really wanted I'm sure. Also, I'm making a Mac compatible method that wouldn't require you to download or run an code at all so if/when I get that done that is another option for you. Good luck!
@CalebRepublic it creates an airplane save file in your Windows simpleplanes game that has a label with the image embedded into it in the form of colored text, if you have simpleplanes on a windows pc you can try it for yourself
Hi, this is really cool! I'm trying to make one of my own but it isn't as accurate as yours. Are you able to give me your sources you used to make this if you still have them?
@Mrherpderp It was but I was just a kid in high school back then so I had the free time to do it XD. Nowadays if I wanted to make gears I can just write some python code to generate what gears I'd need
@Mrherpderp haha thanks, this is an old model so using modern parts I could probably get the part count down to 1 if I wanted to rebuild it but i haven't had the time
@Mrherpderp Back then, I made all the gears by hand using sine and cosine functions to get their exact location. Can't remember exactly how long it took but maybe a couple weeks
@YubukiShimada Your pc probably can't handle loading all the text. On my pc, it has a big delay when loading the text so maybe your pc's memory can't load all the text so it crashes
@NotRandomBuilder8732 Lol glad you like it
@LogoAndCars1 Oh yeah windows doesn't like .exe files because if they are malicious they can cause damage but IA Image Importer is safe and just runs some python scripts. Hope you enjoy!
@LogoAndCars1 Haha can I ask how it looks sketchy?
@LogoAndCars1 Yeah it's safe. Besides, it probably would have been taken down by the mods by now if it wasn't lol.
This is a really cool concept!

@Vladimir1944 Try installing python onto your machine
@11qazxc That's obviously the goal, but it's easier said than done with current game restrictions without making it overly laggy
@Spacepickle3214 I know that some enemies could shoot sprite projectiles, but the player bullet weapons themselves don't show their bullets
@Spacepickle3214 Gun sprite(s) will definitely be coming, but I don't plan to add sprite bullets that you can see moving since Doom didn't feature that.
@goboygo1 Thank you! Definitely is very different from any programming language I've used before lol
@MrGreen Thanks! I'm trying to create a balance haha

Love how you did the display!
@XiaoPiao141 It might depending in the pc, but you can lower the resolution of the image in the software to make it run better

@asteroidbook345 can you send me on discord the exact image you're trying to import?
@IICXLVIICDLXXXIIIDCXLVII Yeah it was removed by mods, and I don't really blame them tbh haha. Basically it was a reenactment of this video.
@Zaineman Wow 328 listed friends! That's dedication right there lol
@Zaineman Thanks! Been a while since I've been reminded of this craft haha
Now including collision detection and much more efficient map building!
@MobileGamer21 I'd like to think Andrew made SP for this exact reason
@Spacepickle3214 oh man I forgot to get that deal! Oh well I still have it on ps4 XD
@V I know, but the meme has always been to make Doom in SimplePlanes haha. Plus, you can make a very Doom-looking game with just raycasting tech
Sure, this is what is inside the label:

@TheWeebREBORN I don't think so unfortunately it needs to be Simpleplanes on Windows
Haha nice and thanks
@WIZARD2017 Sure! Just mention me when you post it
@Freerider2142 Thank you!
@HorizonCCCPAirways Nice! I'm proud of my 3060 I was able to get for only $400 during the height of the gpu shortage haha
I'm 5600X powered 😎
Is there documentation you used for the physics behind this? I'm trying to make my own but it's not quite as accurate
Hi, this is really cool! I'm trying to make one of my own but it isn't as accurate as yours. Are you able to give me your sources you used to make this if you still have them?

The teacher's copy vs. what they give you

@FloridianTrainMan Thank you! Glad you like it
@KONOJERRYDA yep that'll do it haha
@KONOJERRYDA oof did you make too big of an image lol
@BoeyingOfficial okay good luck, .exe files can really trigger PCs sometimes haha
@BoeyingOfficial it is probably because of security options, do you have control over your pc or is under parental controls, school pc, etc?
Cool stuff! Are you using python?
@Morty Sorry I mistyped I meant it is only available on Windows
