drop tanks are a bit too big and plane isnt long enough i dont think compared to the real thing but good effort! can tell that its a mig 21 nd ig thats all that matters on “Simple Planes” :)
4 years later and just using these on my Fighter, the missiles kinda let it down for me pretty uncomparable nor realistic to anything in the sky rn but they are OP and ment for fun clearly i assume.
Having these pods tho have saved me many minutes, hours even of making my own and messing around w rotators etc and in terms of looks they r very beautiful so thank you, ill make sure to giv credit when i upload my plane:)
@SweetSuccubus yeah its just about right id say, your builds are really inspiring to me i want to get to ur level i also like simplicity nd mobile friendly creations even though my device can handle stuff fine its the way SP builds should be imo simple to a degree and fun, have u got discord?
dammm i was gonna enter, this is a really good challenge i love the late 40s-60s era of jets with their simple but elegant designs seeing them go from simple straight wing fighters to the more advanced and supersonic swept wing aircraft, but my project is a 1954 design + it breaks the speed rule doing 930mph :(
@nigonatta Hi, apologies for the late reply i’ve been working all day….
XML/Overload is a mod, luckily however even if you were on mobile it’d be alright for they are now implemented in game.
To activate them when you first open up simple planes and are greeted with the first menu! you should see Play, mods, about then settings, simply click on mods and enable Overload.
Once you have overload when your in designer (building your plane) you should now see a little button near the bottom right of screen, when you click on a part or hover over it if you simply press the overload button and you can then edit whatever properties you need to:)
I really like this! maybe could have added some fictional roundels and ensign+ a little more detail on the outside but cool plane flies good too minus the little bit too extreme manoeuvrability Imo:)
not bad buddy, to improve on replicas you can try using reference images (literally just google pictures of the plane your wanting to build) then try make it as close as possible then after that zoom in and see if you can try and add little details you can see on the plane to your build this will stop your plane on SP “looking flat with a low polly look” and it’ll seem more realistic. A paint scheme closer to that off the real aircraft would also help i’m gonna assume it’d be some sort of semi gloss silver ish for the earlier migs or a camo. Feel free to check out the build i just posted to understand better what i mean…
coincidentally it was also a MiG but the 15bis not 19:)….good effort tho man!
haha yeah neat little thing i was really glad too first learn as well in my early days…. hope this helps your future builds:) …the XML is useful and a very creative feature if you know how to use it for somethings. @nigonatta
@Embruher @nigonatta this can be fixed by editing the guns xml properties, selecting disableAircraftCollisions (on Part menu) then changing it “False” to “True”
Jeeh, been looking at your page and in awe of your build style(tryna get like you, havent quite grasped custom wings etc yet tho) and even more so in your taste of aircraft that you decide to build, the MB.5 is even better looking… gives me the impression of what’d happen if you took a mustang and spitfire together combining them into one plane and i bet had it had the focus of the ministry and prolonged development etc it probably would have shown just that in performance.
Hi great plane, If you search Mig-21 on google you will see that the landing gear are on the big wings:). Also you can keep looking back and forth at your plane and an image of the plane in real life you want to build so that you can make yours as close as possible to the real thing and also better looking, well done!
Thanks a lot for your feedback and spotlight, regarding the firebrand similarities ive updated the bottom of description if you wanna read that but basically i like to copy planes irl and put a sorta fictional twist on them, as seen on my last build but this one yea very similair. Ill try and improve for next time, thanks again:). @Tang0five

Insane and so clean for under 200 parts, also the afterburner is absolutely beautiful! you’ve made my favourite jet so well.

this is nice! especially if this design is mostly yours, have u based it on a real life aircraft?
+1really nice!
