@Ap12909 been busy tbh. I've also been playing more multiplayer games with my friends lately, sea of theives, minecraft, valorant, cosmoteer, and auctualy some SP modded multiplayer but it's really buggy, anyways I just haven't been on SP for a while, I also have had summer homework for AP classes etc, so I've been busy reguardess of just playing games with friends, anyways I'll probably be playing some SP pretty soon, I auctualy do have a few just about finished builds I need to upload so I'll be doing that soon.
@Shanethepain1 thanks, that was the goal, soft but strong, sadly however it's not getting nearly as many downloads as it's first iteration, maybe I just didn't get the first screenshot bright enough? All in all hopefully my next build does a bit better.
Ok a couple things, I'd say increase the roll rate, it's not exactly slow when you're at it's too speed but at lower air speeds it does roll pretty slowly. Another thing is the rear landing gear has no suspension and it really would benefit a lot from having something tl cushion a hard landing, it really doesn't take much to break the rear on a hard landing. Last thing is it handles decent, it's very stable but you could probably squeeze some more turn rate out of it if you made the rear horizontal stabalizers and elevator a bit bigger.
@rexzion I'm just as confused as you! this thing is so popular its rediciolus, it's over rated for seemingly no reason, he missed so many details as well, I made an I-16 and I made it because I think the plane is amazing, I had allready known tons about it and my goal was to match it's performance in game to it's performance IRL, I also want for some of the basic details, I matched the count and placement of all the guns, I matched the time it takes for the wheels to go up, I couldn't match the shape perfectly because it flew too poorly, so I compromised there to allow for better flight characteristics, and in the end mine certainly looks prettier than this and to see if any of this hope held up I put this and my I-16 up against each other in a dogfight, both flown by AI and mine absolutely destroyed this one, yet in the end I got far fewer Upvotes for a plane that flies just like it's IRL WII counterpart down to top speed and turn rate, it's more accurate in every way, anyways, idk why SP is like this, but stuff gets unfairly represented all the time and I guess that's just how it be, it is what it is.
if you do make a V2 be sure to look up where it had its guns, its top speed, how it handled in the air, and its open cockpit with all its quirks like how you out the gear down, its a very strange plane, and it had many really weird quirks, you should include a few more of them if you do make a V2.
@Wakescar that's awesome, I'm just a nerd for suspension and have had pretty much expienence only with RC's, hobby grade for 6 years, but I've had toy grade cars for all my life, and only recently, just a few months ago, I got my driver license which has been great as I think due to RC expienence I'm really good at driving, my spacial awareness is really good and I park better than both my parents, we also have a Subaru, and even though it's automatic it's still so fun to drive, I also seem to be the only one who knows how capable it is in dirt and loose stuff, I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with it when it gets passed down and is my car officially, reguardess though, my next build here is going to be a Baja build that's another attempt at making working 3 link pan hard bar suspension with realistic steering.
YES! Finally someone who also knows how to build actual good 4 link, you should make a Baja desert runner version that's built more for speed and taking jumps off of dunes, all you really need is some sway bars and maybe some different spring rates etc. this thing is awesome, I aspire to make stuff this detailed some day, but alas, I just make good functioning suspension and I'm satisfied.
Its impressive that it can carry so many weapons but I think it needs some tinkering with to fly better its strange how unstable it is on the pitch axis
THIS IS THE CUT OFF PART OF THE DESCRIPTION: like an unguided bomb, you can drop your missiles onto something if you try. AG1 is the carrier arresting hook, and AG3 is a parachute for landing the ADDF-11 after you've left your wings behind, that's it, enjoy!
@An2k so to get the sway bar for the front suspension to for one not be too stiff and allow for a ton of travel, and two, fit in there, I had to use more shocks than I'd usually do for a sway bar, but indeed, the horizontal shocks in front of the rear suspension are part of the front sway bar which I did some crazy stuff to to get it to fit in such a confined space.
So I brought this one back because I've learned a thing or two about suspension tuning since the original and I thought I could improve the old design in a lot of ways and BOY was I right, I greatly improved it, this thing was already a beast, and now it can really rip up the ground, I'm very happy with it.
@Minnererg I suggest checking over connection points making sure everything is connected as it should be, maybe one of the shocks is hard mounted and is connected not to a rotator but straight to the chassis, it would explain the binding, also easiest test you can do is just take the shocks off and see if it compresses with out them, if it does then you know its the shocks connecting weird if it doesn't then check your geometry and make sure parts are free to move.
Oh dude the rolling over has to do with your front suspension, I suggest using double wishbone, what's happening is due to two things, first of all it's way too stiff so you turn, the suspension extends as far as it can and then you roll, a sway bar is a good idea but does nothing if your suspension would rather extend then compress in a turn. Second due to how the suspension doesn't keep the wheel level with the chassis it has no effect on roll, and the chassis can just do as it pleases, if you use independent suspension it will keep the wheel level and when the body rolls so will the wheel and since the wheel will now be up on its edge it will have less traction and will be less likely to roll. All in all your CG is high but that should be ok, it's your suspension that's causing the issue, so redesign the front and make the rear a little less stiff, you want it to sit in it's suspension when resting, not sit on top of it... And I realize that sounds confusing but check out my SCT V5 to get an idea, the handling with that thing is perfect, and the lot of it is due to how it rests in the middle of it's suspension range rather than the top.
Alright I'm dieing, fix the "thanks you" in the description, it's causing me pain, it should just say thank, and also, I have a cool Idea for some builds, just the chassis of this car IRL is pretty, the chassis's of lot of older cars are very pretty and I think we should build ultra realistic chassis's of old sports cars, we can make body's later or see if anyone else wants to make the body's but I think it would be fun to basically have almost the exact chassis's modeled and working perfectly in the game, what do you think?
@Evenstsrike333 ya I mentioned before that was almost accidental, finished the build, had 668 parts, only logical step was make it have 666 for the meme but there was also exactly 5000 drag points, 5000 points is gold, you get the idea but I kid you not the two pieces I removed must of been blocking some drag from being calculated because after I uploaded it I noticed it changed the drag to 5008, and I had done nothing else to it during testing except for make some parts not collide, so ya, a bit of a fail bit it's whatever at this point, I still couldn't be happier with it. (Oops this is long)
@JonTKocz yeet, I do it all, I fly rc planes, drive rc cars, Fly FPV quads, and I do some free flight stuff as well as I do have a collective pitch heli. Ive made tons of things in this game, especially cars based off of rc's, you would probably enjoy checking out some of my crawlers.
@Diloph oh I put the countermeasures on there because I was using it to dogfight some jets I have and it could kill them if I could dodge the missiles and get in close so I just put them there to be useful in game for messing around, probably should have removed them though
Wow...16 downloads to 6 upvotes in 1 hour may be my best early upvote to download ratio yet, thanks for that, means a lot for it to be with this pane as well. :]
@SodiumChloride Hold on, the plane IRL, has HAND CRANK landing gear, it was some of the first retractable landing gear ever, defiantly the first used in the war, and it indeed took 40 seconds if you were skilled, to more than 1 minute if you were not very skilled, to put the gear up or down, this is how the real plane was so I decided to make the SP one have these silly slow landing gear, just to replicate this, I believe its actually faster than the ones IRL as well.
Yes ok so then the wing pieces for the sway bar connections is the way to go dang, that works really well, the sway bars are there and do their job but the stiffness isn't too much that it unsettles the chassis, its perfect, I'm so glad that worked, it really drives well, good job.
Nice but it needs left and right breaking in the front to be a true dune buggy, I'd suggest that and possibly a rear sway bar however as it stands it really doesn't need one, it handles fine, I should probably make my own little RWD buggy for multiplayer.
Thanks for the praise, I really made an effort on this one to go all out, my goals are a nice body first so that the chassis has its proper loaded weight then extreme detail just everywhere, and excessive tuning to hopefully get rid of the bump steer.
:D the 3 auto generated images have cool blue accents because of the glass, they look amazing.
@Baconboi1 sure thing but out of curiosity what do you have in mind?
@Ap12909 same, good to know people still play and still care about builds like mine.
@Ap12909 been busy tbh. +1It looks nice, besides that I haven't had the chance to fly it yet
@Aweyer26 sure go right ahead, good luck with the build.

+1@Frenchman you should build off of the feed back and get it flying better, make a V2, add some more features etc

A goal with this build was to make the suspension as compact as possible, I think it ended up working out really well.

@Villas ye, its a good plane
@cnorth12 Not off road with only two engines, especially while still handling well.

@Notnoob1000 thanks
@Notnoob1000 realistic solid axle Baja suspension you'd see on some huge lifted Jeep or something, I have plans for it, this is a prototype
@RcAddict cool

+1Lol, love the tag, it's definitely not an airplane :)
@JonTKocz good to know
HA, you've also played Ace Combat, at least probably, gotta try to spawn it as an AI and land on it lol.
+1@JonTKocz yeet, I do it all, I fly rc planes, drive rc cars, Fly FPV quads, and I do some free flight stuff as well as I do have a collective pitch heli. Ive made tons of things in this game, especially cars based off of rc's, you would probably enjoy checking out some of my crawlers.
+1@Sm10684 ye ye, this one took some work but its performance was very worth the work
@CalebRepublic I kid you not, I finished the build and looked at the part count and it said 668, so there was only one logical thing to do.
+1There might be some Easter eggs... Gold tier baby!
That speedometer is incredible
+2Ok this needs more Upvotes Henry...
This thing is so pretty though, I love how it looks
+1its a perfect meme and a half of a build, I gotta build one and we gotta have a memed, baja helicopter race in multiplayer
@Diloph oh I put the countermeasures on there because I was using it to dogfight some jets I have and it could kill them if I could dodge the missiles and get in close so I just put them there to be useful in game for messing around, probably should have removed them though

Oh... the top down orthographic view looks amazing
I personally love how this plane looks IRL and in game
lets be clear here, this fly's terribly, the new version is perfect, look for V2!

Minty Sports Truck and god dang does she handle flat through the corners

First PC Upload hell ya, this ones going to be o a whole other level than the first scale crawler chassis
