😅 no: to have a camera which automatically centres itself around the target and your plane at the same time - using rotators and the new funky trees variables “TargetSelected”, “TargetHeading” and “TargetElevation”. @Strucker
I’ve seen the finalists of the last tournament and I don’t understand how their planes can accelerate so fast: no matter how many engines I put in my plane, my plane always takes 10 seconds to accelerate to its top speed.
Btw it is also very light and has only 58 drag points.
@Mustang51 Thanks man. Here, I added the picture to the post (I have VTOL down to show the flaps + slats)
Well haha, I don’t think I have a particular building style. I wouldn’t say that my build is particularly impressive, and my progress so far is absolutely horrible; did not even start to add details, nor the rudder! lol (I can be quite a perfectionist some times, and coupled with that annoying undo button it’s a huge waste of time) So keep in mind that this is not at all the finish product (for exemple, I need to add fuselage to my elevators to make them straight at the end, etc that sort of things)
@Mustang51 Well, I wanted to add a picture of the plane to my original post, but I have no idea how to put a screenshot (I used google photos to copy the link of my image but it just doesn’t work) What I am doing wrong?
@Mustang51 thanks man but don’t expect it soon. My elevator wing uses rotators, which right now are at 200% speed, but I managed to overcome the problems of wobbles when pitching (by using the editor to make super wide but unrealistic wings tho), and it turns very smoothly. I’ll remember to put them at 20-40% for future builds, might always be handy.
@Mustang51 Of course I made my own.... I’ve spend the last two months on it. It’s got flaps and slats, which took me ages to make work (well given that I am new to the game and knew nothing about it, this is probably why it took me so long)
@Mustang51 Currently I have worked a lot on this, to achieve an ok acceleration, the right dry thrust speed and top speed, the right take of speed, etc. For now, I don’t think I need any help on this, but thanks for offering it!
@SnoWFLakE0s Cool to know it’s perfectly possible. You are right, I don’t have DCS or any other sim like that and I have spent hours researching for scraps of information. Also, thanks for reminding me that I really need to read your Funky trees guide.
It’s just that I don’t know if I should use these exploits in the future tourneys, since I think they are really unfair. I’m quite new, and I still don’t understand everything, but maybe should moderators decide that glitch planes are forbidden at tourneys, and like find a way to punish the ones who create them, if that’s something they are able to do. Or, on the other way provide plenty of information on how to make these glitch planes so that tournaments are fairer.
@Minecraftpoweer soo should everybody next time try to use these exploits of the game instead of sticking to the rules, or should people doing tournaments decide not to use this, so that nobody has an unexpected advantage. I mean, I’m new and I understand that these tournaments are no longer as fun as they were because of these planes. And also, some people try to stick to the rules while others don’t, so should there be like a general agreement to decide if this will be allowed or not?
@Adityo0502 Btw last time I used rotor propulsion and I could reach 1900 mph, and it just took a bit of tuning and a few hours to make it run without crashing across the course. I did not use it this time for the reasons I mentioned, but I could have. It did the course in 0:43 seconds.
I know it’s a bit too late, but planes that use exploits and glitches are quite a bit annoying. It’s really unsportsmanlike, and most importantly it’s cheating. Plus, using glitches is quite easy meaning that there is no more fun and challenges in making a fast plane.
Uhmm I think there is a bug in the start of the course - for some planes the motor only starts when it passes the first ring - it’s really annoying since my best plane got this bug
@AndrewGarrison I have noticed that my plane finished the course most of the time without missing rings on the ‘me’ side but always missed a lot on the ‘opponent’ side - I don’t know why.
@edensk Turns out it worked perfectly!
@randomusername This worked fine too! However I needed to make more changes to the rotators to make it work.
Again, thank you for your help.

+1@edensk @randomusername Thank you! I’ll try out these formulas tomorrow.
+1@SpicyLuckster to make it fly, you need to retract the landing gears. When in the course, the ai does this automatically.
+1@Adityo0502 thanks, but I’m sure to lose in my next round

Wait is it on IOS yet? I can’t find it
+1Is the parallax formula for the auto-leading turrets out yet?@NumbersNumbersTheMan
Is it planned to add the InputController to guns? @WNP78

Haha fantastic plane. I had so much fun dogfighting with the others - summary: the Nieuport is by far the best:

@DeezDucks Yep I’ve seen this superb plane too. I’ve payed close attention to it.
@Mustang51 Currently I have worked a lot on this, to achieve an ok acceleration, the right dry thrust speed and top speed, the right take of speed, etc. For now, I don’t think I need any help on this, but thanks for offering it!
@vcharng I’ll try the PID controller too once I know a bit more about funky trees. Thanks!

@MAHADI Cannon shells stuck to electro magnets I think.
Ugh. Download 70% complete for ten minutes now. Seems a superb plane though, especially the cockpit!
@jamesPLANESii thank you so much that was the problem!
@asteroidbook345 it does not... when I click on the button ‘open image’ after selecting my view it does nothing
@jamesPLANESii also, is it a mod I need to activate? When I go to the ‘mod’ page it only shows fine tuner and overload however.
I mean, do I need to copy it from chrome, or something like that?
@jamesPLANESii
Yeah lol, but how do I put the pic in SimplePlanes?
Thanks, @jamesPLANESii, but how do I use it?
Can the next tournament be mod class, so that people don’t have to use glitch planes?

@randomusername so then, what’s the difference between this and modifying the plane like Zkillerwolfe did, which is also oddly legal?
@randomusername but isn’t that still xlm editing?
@randomusername oh ok.
@randomusername didn’t your plane in the tournament today use electric engines, which have xlm modified max power?
It’s for the show. It needs to be entertaining, right?
@Adityo0502 I know. Just nobody said anything. Well, enough of this bickering. I wish you all good luck
@Adityo0502 the plane pompom cheats and no one said anything...
@Adityo0502 Ok understood... I’m very new and last time was my first tourney.
@Adityo0502 Btw last time I used rotor propulsion and I could reach 1900 mph, and it just took a bit of tuning and a few hours to make it run without crashing across the course. I did not use it this time for the reasons I mentioned, but I could have. It did the course in 0:43 seconds.
@Adityo0502 yeah... but it’s also unfair for the others who taught better of cheating
@Adityo0502 Last tournament the plane who lost in the final did max 1:17
Isn’t the max speed for props 760 mph? Could all planes who exceed that speed be disqualified?
It’s annoying because my plane can do 1:16 consistently, but I will meet her plane in my second match
I think randomusername is using rotor propulsion @Adityo0502
