@jamesPLANESii yes you just add the custom thumbnail as a blueprint move it off to the side so the plane isnt in the way, then use the normal photo thing to take the photo of the blueprint instead of the plane, tada.
@SnoWFLakE0s I guess the next thing to try is making it hollow with a hollow collision box. I first used fuselage inlets because it would allow me to angle and I thought it would work like my last crane did, but physics said no. So I thought that maybe I need to use normal fuselage blocks, so with some simple math I made the pieces but with fuselage blocks and the angles on them exactly the same size even though they get smaller with each.
Didnt work.
So later I guess I'll have to make it actually hollow and and then each piece should support the other better. But that's a lot of extra work considering I have spent hours rebuilding the crane over and over...
@SnoWFLakE0s it will have that, but in the end, it most likely wont add a lot of structural support so I planned to add that once everything else on the crane was done before I collapsed it to the standard lenght. But I have tried adding 2 extra pistons on every section and it didnt work, I have tried adding multiple connections, side connections and nothing works.
@SnoWFLakE0s idk either I was just tired af..... and each segment already uses 5 pistons... the screenshot is 5 bundled together and each segment has that
@SnoWFLakE0s idk what you mean by multipurpose piston. And I was thinking that if this wouldnt work I would add a very flat "floor" to each segment with collision and hopefully that would help without messing it up
@asteroidbook345 what shaft coming out of the casing? if you're referring to the picture thats not what it looks like when its done, it looks more like the finished crane I made, this is just what it looks like when you build it. But I have tested with nudging it to how it would be when finished.

@asteroidbook345 I have already said making them heavier didn't fix it, and making the pieces of boom 0 mass wont help either since the pistons will still be lifting something heavy, pistons will lift the other pistons and in the end they'll all be taking a load of whatever is hooked on.
It's not that bad though, the mods and devs in the comments are right, that's how you do stuff like enable developer settings on mobile phones (atleast on android phones) and then if it's just a 3 tap to open it once it is activated it isn't that hard.

Stowing away the keyboard might be annoying but for it not not be stowed away and you still getting the commands you'd only be able to see like 1 line of thr dev console and the text bar where you type, that would probably be more annoying.

Dev console was probably in the game already too, just that they made a way for mobile players to access it, it's like how you can enable the joysticks on pc.

Changing the number of points with inspect element wont show the respective rank for that number. So getting 69420k points will not return you to a white "badge" you'll be at platinum.

But when you need 8 segments that all need to be able to carry a rather heavy load without bending and 3 segments cant even carry 5k that's a problem and I need to fix it somehow.
@Vidal99977 you take a screenshot, you add text to it if you want. You use designer suite to use it as a "blueprint" you move it to the side so the build doesnt block it. Then you take the pics for uploading and zoom in on the blueprint so only that is visible. Tada custom thumbnail and can be done by everyone. And that's how the majority of players do it.
Lemme tell you something.
1: pc users now use the designer suite mod for custom thumbnails, a mod that everyone who updates to 1.9 has.
2: there are tons of photo editing softwares available for free, both on pc and on mobile.
3: Designer doesnt matter, it doesnt have anything to do with the custom thumbnail unless you add some text like the name to the build, in that case it's better just to take a screenshot ingame for the custom thumbnail. Basically designer mods like that are not as useful as they once were because now you can basically use any picture of your build.
4: The upvotes arent really only because of thumbnails (except for the clickbait ones that are now against the rules) it's more about "marketing" you make teasers, you make people interested in your thing, why they should take the time to try it out etc. You want to convince someone to get it, and teasers are important for this. It's important to get upvotes in the beginning, the rest builds itself up, but if nothing happens at the start, nothing will happen later.
@PointlessWhyshouldi well at the start you use a pretty big crane but then the crane just builds itself up (yes really) (I'm assuming you're talking about tower cranes. Ps. I made one of them, check it out)

Okay so what I'm trying to make is a knuckleboom/loader crane. Just look up a palfinger crane, I guess they're the most popular manufacturer of them.

What I want is for the section furthest back (1st piston) to extend first, because thicker is stronger and if you want to extend it a little bit I don't want every boom to extend when just one has to.

So they extend in stages with thickest being a priority just that the way the first input was it was more like a toggle, the piston would either be fully extended or not extended at all, but that's not what I want.
.
Basically the crane extends as much as the throttle is (lets say throttle is 90% so that will be 90% of the cranes max lenght) But the pistons at the front don't extend before the previous ones have extended by 100%.
.
The pistons are basically placed like this. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
So pistons 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 wont extend before piston 1 has been fully extended, but piston 1 can still be extended by half if needed. Which I don't think it is possible to make a system like this.

@SnoWFLakE0s No no, I guess I'm bad at explaining. so what I want is that lets say I have throttle at 13% (0.13) that means the first piston is fully extended and since the throttle is past 12% the 2nd piston has started to extend, but since its not 25% throttle it has only extended a bit.

@SnoWFLakE0s Apparently it didn't work like I thought it would since they extend 100% if the throttle is at a number it will activate on. I don't think there is a fix for that. I still really appreciate the help though and I'll still thank you in my post.
What if you have the hyperdrive engine on an activation group (also with zeroOnDeactivate = true) and then you have the same engine only it it pushes against the original engine so the thrust to both directions is equal and you have the input on that as brake or you can have it a bit more powerful. Or you can have thag in combination with air brakes.
@BogdanX if you buy them from steam they should never expire. And I'm assuming the devs can take out how many they want or something so it's probably without an expiration date too. You could just save it in a .text file somewhere on your computer. It's like a giftcard that gives you the game essentially.
