I don’t have much experience with 4 stroke, but I’ve been flying an Ace All Star biplane i built using a 20 year old OS.15 2 stroke all this summer. Pretty easy starting.. Have someone experienced help you with the air bleed and the needle valve. Make sure you’ve got a BEC to power the receiver/servos. Also will need a throttle servo. 15% Nitro fuel and an electric starter wouldn’t hurt either ;)
@CDRxavier Yeah I did this wayyy back before all this gyro stuff. Come to think of it that would have been very helpful. Please, by all means make a new one, this one is outdated and Id like to see a newer take on it
@legiondesigns Speed approximately 430 mph (I think ) and I'm not sure about how to measure the turn radius. That could probably be tightened from what it already is by enlarging the controls on the tail surfaces. I just kind of built this on a whim after seeing a video of a similar RC plane.
Sorry, but the history nut in me feels the need to correct you. In fact, the Sopwith Pup was the first, serving on the HMS Furious as early as 1917. The Americans did not posses a carrier until the converted coal collier USS Langley. I do like the plane though and Hats off to you for an excellent build
Now, Ive heard with these CG-4s that if the cargo in the back(such as a jeep) were to come loose, they would open the nose in flight and let it roll out the front, then lower the nose and resume flying
As an aviation enthusiast, I would have to say Top Gun, The Spirit of St Louis, and Those Magnificent Men and their Flying Machines. Oh, and I also like Mad Max 2
Shut up and take my money!!!
+2How do I downvote a post
+1You should do the Blackburn B.44 concept float fighter as a follow up ;)
+1Id like to see someone make one of the Peter-mobiles (i.e. Peterang, Petercopter, Hindenpeter)
+1Don't know about you, but some of my favorite glider fields in the game are the tough, hard to reach strips that I have saved.
+1Cue Bruce Willis in an El Camino
@Squirrel @CRJ900Pilot yeah that’s it. Just hook a lipo up to the BEC and hook it up to the Reciver and it’ll power your electronics

Could I make a replica of a homebuilt plane thats only offered as plans?
@horatio If you stay slow and hit their wing you can sometimes survive
Haha, looks like a SAAB Sonnet
@DerekSP sadly no. As was pointed out, my aircraft just flies in such a manner that looks just like the real thing
@EternalDarkness aw dang, I thought I had discovered something new
There will never be a time when missile-powered planes are unnecessary
Yeah, The pilots name was the Gyro Captain so I'm assuming that this is just the gyrocopter

Landing gear setup seems about accurate
@Skyhavenflyer8
Looks very similar to the Etrich Taube! I like it
Yes I understand Ill have to try some different engines then....
Honestly one of my favorites. Do you think you could make one with some more speed though?
But my original one did fly! Had to be air-started

Figured somebody would make one of these with the new inlet. Looks great so far!
@mingseeme a canard i guess
@TTHHSSSS have you been having issues with it making a big uncntrolled loop on takeoff? If so don't use full up elevator on takeoff

Are more than one entry allowed @TTHHSSSS ?
This airplane has me worried. Very good performance and with no flaps?!
Hey @Skyhavenflyer8 its Asymmetric aircraft btw
Can I at least get some credit for the design? All you did is put on different wheels and set the propeller to manual pitch. @Boyinthebush
@RedBeard66 Where can I find this challenge?
@kukimuki1234 it's very underpowered and only one wheel retracts
What about jets like the F-4 Phantom where there are no guns on the real thing?
The captured P-38 and B-17s also look pretty neat

Are we allowed to do airplanes that were never ordered into production but did have prototypes built?
Give my Discus Launch Glider (DLG) a try https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/8C388Y/Discus-Launch-R-C-Glider-Read-Directions
At the moment Id have to say South Park
How about an L-17 Navion
No, I mean with the thin three blade prop and the 500 hp @Gestour
Interesting concept
I love the polyhedral in the wings. Not a common sight on biplanes
Strangely this is one of the best Electras I've seen on the site....
Geez man! I for one wouldn't tackle a project such as this, let alone one this detailed
Nice, I tried this a while back but it wasn't as good as this one.
As an aviation enthusiast, I would have to say Top Gun, The Spirit of St Louis, and Those Magnificent Men and their Flying Machines. Oh, and I also like Mad Max 2
Targeting System
Geez man! I for one wouldn't even attempt a B-29, let alone one as detailed as this! You've got skillz
@Foreverpie Ive wanted to make a Pitts ever since he made his. Very sad to see him go
