@ChisP Well, the screenshots are still not very good. The last two have too much clutter in the background, and the first one is completely washed out. It doesn't show off the shape of the aircraft, the lighting is at the wong angle, and the foreground has too little contrast against the background. Here are a bunch of screenshots that I think look a lot better.
@ThomasRoderick No lore for this one. I was just playing around with exhaust effects using beaconLights, and it occurred to me that glowing intakes would look really cool. Shapes are exactly what it's about for me, and I like to interpret the basic design differently each time.
@SnoWFLakE0s Well, I'm simply not interested in people who don't appreciate my builds, mate. There's nothing ambivalent about seeing something good and refusing to so much as acknowledge it. It's a choice, and you've made that choice consistently for a very long time.
.
My iteration of such systems- I daresay somewhat simpler in terms of actual part count, and especially if you use a script to build things this type of XML is far easier to implement. Beacon lights are the sole thing required.
Wrong on all counts.
The part count of my timer is higher only because I'm using 44 beaconLights for the backlight. Each digit itself uses 7 parts, regardless of whether beacons or airbrakes are used.
I used airbrakes not because I'm unaware of beaconLights, but because they have several advantages over beaconLights: they look better; the thickness of the font stroke can be adjusted without losing the straight lines of the segments; and they can be backlit.
Your XML isn't "far easier to implement" -- compare the inputs on my digital gauge to yours, and see which ones are (far) more complex.
Lastly and most importantly, why are you tagging me? You've never shown any goodwill towards me -- never upvoted my posts, never commented -- so why now? Just so we're clear, if someone has refused to upvote my builds for a long time, to me that means that our values are so different and irreconciliable that I have zero interest in that person.
@SnoWFLakE0s That's a little... basic, isn't it? It runs only once through all your beacons or whatever and then it's useless. This, on the other hand, is a proper timer, with hours, minutes, and seconds, and it loops.
Thanks, @Treadmill103. The really cool thing about this is that it can be adapted to measure any input very precisely. If the VTOL slider isn't accurate enough for you, you could get the exact measurement with this thing, one ring for each significant figure.
@GTAPRO Hmm, I still don't get it.
@GTAPRO Er... nice work, I guess?
@BaconRoll Aliens can be very trippy.

+1You're too kind, @Texasfam04
Thanks, @Oofsalot
One of the best things about this is how it starts to shimmy at high speeds.
@ChisP As a matter of fact, I've been thinking about it ever since I saw it in the new Top Gun trailer. Expect one soon :)
[Quake III announcer voice] Outstanding.
@Zanedavid Lucky you, I've never seen one in real life.
@grizzlitn Well, the result is very impressive :)
+1@CRJ900Pilot Thanks. Now just imagine what would be possible if any fuselage block could be made to glow like a beacon light...
@grizzlitn It's also the first build of its kind I've seen from you. New building technique?
@grizzlitn This build deserves more. Best artillery I've seen in a long time. Now you've inspired me to build an artillery piece. :)
+1De rien, @grizzlitn
+1Thanks, @Mustang51.
+1@JohnnyBoythePilot Yeah, that's a big factor for me.

+1@ssenmodnar Yes, this is the Mark XI. It has quite a few differences from the original.
+2Thanks, @Hedero It's the same plane in all the screenshots, the Mark XI is the glow-in-the-dark edition.
@ACEPILOT109 Bless you.
@ACEPILOT109 I prefer to say "curvy."
Thanks, @SimpleMachineIndustry.
@VerldVarIII Well, nothing I can do about that...
@VerldVarIII I've used control surfaces before, you know...
@Cassio11 I have no idea what that means.
@ChickenMcNuggets007 Yes, of course. How's them nuggets?
+1@Diloph OK, well, maybe I was wrong about you.
+1@JediWolf I tried that, and it just went into the water.
@JediWolf How did you do that?
@Diloph Oh look, another person who refuses to upvote my builds, but acts like he's my buddy.
@SnoWFLakE0s Well, I'm simply not interested in people who don't appreciate my builds, mate. There's nothing ambivalent about seeing something good and refusing to so much as acknowledge it. It's a choice, and you've made that choice consistently for a very long time.

@klm747klm747 The follower of the Beast?
@ThomasRoderick Lateral thinking :)
+1@Diloph Seven-segment display
@Mustang51 Well, we can hope.
@Mustang51 Maybe there should be a 'text readout' part that could be configured to display anything we chose.
Long time no see, @Z3RO
@Mustang51 Hmm... If the game allowed measuring the time starting from an AG turning on it would be possible to make an actual stopwatch.
@Mustang51 Is there anything you plan to use it for?
@Mustang51 Just another day at SledDriver Industries :)
+1@Treadmill103 Yeah it's pretty cool, isn't it :) Digital display in the front, typewriter-like machinery in the back...
Glad you like it, @Imashovel @Davidzhang2671
@SnoWFLakE0s Still, that's not a timer. Anyway, I've updated the description to be more precise.
@Fighterpilot91 Of course :) How else would I capture that perfectly-angled screenshot, or record that GIF?
@TitanIncorporated Indeed.
Thanks, @Subnerdica
