@Minecraftpoweer I didn't try targeting it. It can be destroyed with gunfire, though.
@Notaleopard When I saw it, the position was way to the east of Wright. But I can't be sure what position the ship appeared at, because it kept moving with the aircraft (at speeds of 1000 mph or more).
@Looney I couldn't agree more. But in this community, the only kind of effort that counts is the mindless, repetitive, manual labour of sticking parts together one by one, adjusting the sizes, offsets, and angles for each one by hand, uploading your work as an unlisted build to get the orthographic views, comparing the orthographic view against blueprints, making adjustments, then repeating the process until you've got a crude replica. I kid you not -- doing this will get you oohs and aahs and an absolute avalanche of upvotes. The longer you can claim it took you to build, the more admiration and upvotes you'll get. Claiming that you were sick while building it will probably propel your build to land among the highest-rated builds of all time. Presumably, if you built it while sitting on a bed of nails with a wolf gnawing on your leg, it would be even more admirable.
However, if you dare to use your brain to invent a better way of building... be prepared to be cast out and chained to a rock like Prometheus.
@Looney That's exactly what I'm doing. However, if you stick around long enough, you'll find that the majority of this community considers using scripts (or your brain, in any other way, for that matter) "cheating".
@Looney Thanks, but I've decided it's much too valuable to release for free. I'd like to leverage it in a game of my own, or license it to a game developer.
@WarHawk95 Well, that's the first time I've heard someone say that. But you understand that there's no point in releasing the tool just for a few people -- the hate currently directed solely at me would then just get spread to include them. The "community" has taken its stance -- until that changes, there's no point releasing the script.
@ChallengerHellcat Oh, plenty of people would love to use it, they just a) couldn't figure out how to use it, and b) for many of them, having previously taken the stance that using a script is "cheating," they'd look pretty silly if they now used it themselves.
@WarHawk95 Sorry, that option is no longer available. I've decided my work is valuable enough that if I release it, it will be in my own game, or licensed to some game developer.
@AWESOMENESS360 Yeah. If you look carefully, the nose is round in cross-section, unlike the stealthy shape of the SR-71/A-12 noses -- that's so it can hold the radar, being an interceptor. The chines are cut off so they don't interfere with the radar. Also unlike the blackbird, the chines were all-metal, so they could be strong enough to carry missiles. The Blackbird/A-12's chines were made of alternating triangular wedges of lexan (a heat-resistant plastic) and titanium.
@ThomasRoderick Beautiful for sure. Minor correction: the A-12 came first and was the only single-seater version; the YF-12 and the SR-71 were both twin-seaters.
@Dan96230 It's simple: you just install a jet engine pointing downwards through the center of mass, and make its thrust exactly equal to the mass of your build. Add a gyro and you're done. Full tutorial here. If you find that too hard to follow, don't worry, you can just take one of these modules, install them in your build (following the instructions), and that's it.
@Notaleopard This specific design looks like it's not quite sure what it wants to do, since high-mounted wings are for increased stability around the roll axis while anhedral wings reduce stability. This design would make more sense if the wings were dihedral (angled upwards).
With a dihedral wing, when you bank in one direction, the wing on that side becomes more parallel to the ground, thus increasing lift on that side, while the wing on the other side becomes even more angled with respect to the ground, losing lift. This causes the plane to tend to roll back into wings-level position. So dihedral wings are used on aircraft where roll stability is desired, and are mounted high on the fuselage.
Anhedral wings have exactly the opposite effect, and so are used when you want to reduce roll stability. They're typically mounted low on the fuselage.
@AWESOMENESS360 No problem at all. To me, if it's sleek and beautiful, it's a she (XB-70 "Valkyrie," U-2 "Dragon Lady," YF-23 "Black Widow"); if it's chunky and ugly or brutal-looking, it's a he (B-52 "BUFF," C-130 "Fat Albert," etc.).
@ChickenMcNuggets007 Operative word properly, by which I mean fuselage blocks connecting edge-to-edge to create a smooth, unbroken shape. While nudging blocks into each other approximates the shape, it just doesn't appeal to me.
@SmokestreamAircraft Thanks. I like them too, but from a creative point of view, the unrealistic ones are more valuable. Anyway, I build both types, so...
@SubXTribe Yeah. It's quite hard to hit it, because it moves so fast and zigzags a lot, but it can be taken down with gunfire like the other ships.
+1@Notaleopard It didn't replace anything, as far as I can tell. It seems to be purely an easter egg added to the game.
@PhilipTarpley
Thanks, @Ariathe. I'm quite pleased with how this version turned out.
@Rawhide Hi, it's over here, though it's not exactly active.
@Looney Careful, someone's going to accuse you of being an alt account of mine... :)

+3@Looney That's exactly what I'm doing.
@Looney I write scripts to help me generate the shapes.
@WarHawk95 Well, that's the first time I've heard someone say that. But you understand that there's no point in releasing the tool just for a few people -- the hate currently directed solely at me would then just get spread to include them. @ChallengerHellcat Where are you getting the idea that "barely anyone wants to use it"?
@WarHawk95 But you see my point of view, I hope.
@WarHawk95 Sorry, that option is no longer available. I've decided my work is valuable enough that if I release it, it will be in my own game, or licensed to some game developer.
@WarHawk95 Well, then you misread it.
@WarHawk95 "Nobody cares"? You have no idea how many people care. Anyway, I'm certainly not abandoning it, I'm just keeping it to myself.
@WarHawk95 I did, it was up for nearly four months. Nobody used it. See my last comment on that post, it'll explain a few things.
@Looney what do you mean? :)
Here's a video of a YF-12 flight and missile launch.
+1Thanks, @AWESOMENESS360. It's actually the YF-12, which was a more badass version of the SR-71 (it was a missile-armed interceptor).
@Nerfenthusiast I left out the missiles, people can add their own if they like. The A-12 doesn't have the round nose and chopped-off chines.
@CYBERBEAST I will, but don't ask me for a deadline. It'll happen when I feel like it.
@WarHawk95 ...because I'm the one who took it down? I built it, I still have it.
@Pejayous Here you go.
@Pejayous A lot of fuselages, yes, but not much time. As for hacks, yes, it's chock-full of them. Welcome to the wonderful world of XML modding.
@ThomasRoderick Beautiful for sure. Minor correction: the A-12 came first and was the only single-seater version; the YF-12 and the SR-71 were both twin-seaters.
+1@Gameboi14 I use this.

Clever.
De rien, @grizzlitn
+1@Jim1the1Squid I'm sure I can give you some advice. What do you need help with?
@Jim1the1Squid Well, I did put up a couple of tutorials and parts kits, but hardly anyone used them. So if you want advice, you'll have to ask.
Thanks, @SelectAKey @Ariathe
@Gameboi14 thanks
@TMach5 sure, feel free
@AndrewGarrison Will there be any more features added to this update, or is this it? I was hoping we would get glowing materials and a cannon part.
+2@Mumpsy You will not be disappointed.
@Tang0five Nyet problema, comrade.
+1@AWESOMENESS360 No problem at all.

@ChickenMcNuggets007 The YF-23 shape is impossible to make properly in SP. I can do something similar, though.
@SmokestreamAircraft Thanks. I like them too, but from a creative point of view, the unrealistic ones are more valuable. Anyway, I build both types, so...
+1@Notaleopard Sometimes. If someone wants to add missiles they can always do that themselves.
Thanks, @Strikefighter04
It's a girl, @AWESOMENESS360
Thanks, @Kentheman @SmokestreamAircraft
@Mumpsy You mean the looks, or the handling? :)
