@Phil2003 Well, as I said, I don't build exact replicas (because I like to think I have a higher purpose than being a copy machine), and speed is a part of that. I chose the two speeds (~1000 mph and ~3700 mph) for my flight module because I find them the best to get around in the SP sandbox. Occasionally I adjust them to suit the plane, but mostly I prefer to keep my flight model consistent across all my builds.
I don't see SP as a place to recreate all the limitations of real life, but something like the Matrix where we can surpass the limitations of real life.
You got the bit about details right, because I can think of few things more boring than constantly comparing blueprints/photos to my build, trying to match every single detail down to rivets. Again, I'm not a copy machine. I like to capture the essence of an aircraft.
As for landing gear, I don't find them worth the time and effort they take. Control surfaces using rotators often kill performance for no discernible reason, and I can't be bothered to figure out why. I have a choice: I could spend my time building lots of great designs, or I could build a lot fewer airplanes and waste time building essentially the same thing (landing gear) over and over again. To me, that's an easy choice.
@EternalDarkness Before you ask, I did add control surfaces, but they kill performance on this build for some reason. Every few seconds the game just freezes.
@Phil2003 Yeah, those are quite interesting shapes. I'll put them on my list. But note that my builds are never exact replicas, only loosely based on the real thing.
Interesting design. Instead of binding the landing gear to activation groups and VTOL, you can simply use LandingGear as the input to make the controls less complicated.
@CRJ900Pilot Oh, and by the way, when your ears ring, that means some of your auditory nerves have just died. It may be fun, but you're causing irreversible hearing loss to yourself.
@CRJ900Pilot I used to have no problem with noise, but then I had the misfortune of living among the kind of village idiots who think it's the coolest thing ever to drive around at low gear and high RPM at all hours. Now, unfortunately, revving engines are forever associated with douchemonkeys for me. I used to love high-performance cars and bikes, but now they're absolutely ruined for me.
@CRJ900Pilot Prop planes are slow, nose props obstruct the view, and most of all, they're noisy (I know jets are loud too, but in SP you can make them quiet). I really, really hate noise, because of some extremely scummy people. (Long story.)
@Spectre2520 See the instructions: AG2: High agility mode. I use a keyboard to fly, so any input is either full-on or full-off, there's no in-between. That's why I keep the default pitch very gentle, and include a stronger pitch control for fast turns and mobile devices.
@CRJ900Pilot Are you still working on it, or is it finished and you're waiting to upload at a scheduled time? Look forward to seeing the finished build, it looked pretty good when I last saw it.
@Spectre2520 If you detach the wingtip fuel tanks, it goes down to 463 parts. Yeah, I've been busy this past week, but am back to my regular upload schedule starting today.
@CenturiVonKikie I did build a variable geometry something, though that's probably not what you're looking for. I might build a VG fighter at some point.
Thanks, @CRJ900Pilot
@AdlerSteiner Thanks.
@SaturnV Thanks. Yeah, I remember your username. Welcome back.
+1@Countache27 Yeah, I wonder how many people thought this is a fictional aircraft.
@Countache27 Yakovlev Yak-28
+1@ThomasRoderick Shortened or beefed-up, depending upon how you look at it.
+1@FGW2014 It means it's fine whichever of my builds you like best :)
@EternalDarkness Yeah, I know. Probably a bug in the game engine. I can't be bothered to figure it out.

@FGW2014 OK, well, as long as you like something :)
Thanks, @CRJ900Pilot
Danke, @Phil2003. Well, I don't find airliners very interesting, but if I run out of other ideas I might make one.
@grizzlitn Thanks :)

@FGW2014 Oh, why's that?
Drives well, you've obviously got that part figured out.
@Countache27 yes, isn't it
@LuciferOfPoland :)
@Delosofy Thanks, but I don't use Twitch (or any other social media).
Thanks, @Phil2003
Very nice.
Thank you, @Nef680
Thanks, @ThomasRoderick

@grizzlitn mairsee boo-coo, mon ami
@CRJ900Pilot Hate is far too weak a word for people like that.

@CRJ900Pilot Sure, I like the P-51, even though it's a prop plane (ugh). How about a jet-powered P-51?
@CRJ900Pilot and the plasma cannons, I guess...
@EternalDarkness Hardly :) A fairly simple build.
Thanks, @CRJ900Pilot. This one doesn't have much spin, though, it's pretty close to the real thing... unless you mean the smooth finish?
@tsampoy Yes, isn't she...
@RailfanEthan I knew I would regret looking that up...
@Spectre2520 Well, I do have some low part count builds, in that case. 1 2 3 4 5
@CRJ900Pilot Looks fine to me.

@TR87 3, maybe 4 hours at most.
@TR87 Something simple like this, about an hour.
Thanks, @AV8R

+1@Jacobdaniel Hi
Thanks, @Phil2003
@Latios22 Hmm, maybe. If a design like that comes to me I'll build it.
