Thanks, @Treadmill103. The B-17 has always been the most beautiful WW2 bomber to me. Working with prop engines in SP is a pain, though. Apparently they're not rigid bodies, but move all over the place...
Well, what are you trying to achieve? If you actually want people to even look at this, let alone try it, maybe make it more interesting than a tilted skinny tube?
@Hedero What I said still applies. Just because a few other people uploaded P-38s, regardless of who started first, why should that affect when you choose to upload yours?
@Hedero Generally, I don't recommend letting other people's actions drive yours. Just because a few (or a lot of) people are doing something doesn't mean you should follow suit....
@SupremeDorian Since when is expressing a personal preference interpreted as a rule?
Also, I have no desire to have any interaction with you whatsoever, so unless I do something that requires mod intervention, I'd appreciate it if you could leave me alone.
@Planeboi49620 That would be worse than using pistons, you'd have unconnected bodies inside your aircraft. And what happens when momentum and/or air resistance push the moving bit back inside the cavity? Add more engine power?
@CRJ900Pilot Well, the most a piston can do is a spike that moves to and fro, like the SR-71's inlet spikes. If you want something that smoothly changes its contours, you need parts that translate without affecting physics (so pistons won't do).
Thanks, @CRJ900Pilot. Why would I mind? I like intelligent questions. The reason is so that there would be continuity between the nose and the fuselage/wing section.
@Belloaka You mean the first photo in the description? That's the regular map, just with some shaders applied using ReShade. There's a link on my profile.
@Belloaka Thanks. I wanted it to have a sci-fi look, as if it was shot on another planet. Also, the increased contrast and saturation makes things easier to see against the ocean background.
@Belloaka The best thing about it is that it doesn't force any choices on you. Realistic, unrealistic, completely off-the-wall, you can do anything you want. And on top of that it's a great way to experiment with physics.
@Vukasin123king Well, as I said, it works for me on both Windows and Android. Seems like you have a problem specific to your device or version of the game. Nothing I can do about that.
@Vukasin123king What happens when you throttle up? I just tried this build on both Windows and Android and it works just fine for me. Are you using a legitimate, up-to-date version of the game?
@Planeboi49620 Well, maybe someday we'll have flexible materials strong enough and light enough to be used as skins on supersonic aircraft. Until then, SimplePlanes will have to do...

@Nuclearbomber36 Well, maybe that'll teach you not to place people in convenient little categories :)
+2Go to Google image search, and try searches like the following:

@anonymoususer976 The book is full of interesting details like that.
@JohnnyBoythePilot Oh, ok. Glad you think so.
+1@anonymoususer976 I'm not a fan of prank builds. This one crashed the game when I tried to load it in the sandbox. I doubt many people will like that.
@99807 For good reason...
@Hedero To each his own, I guess.
@99807 It's not an exact replica. I left out quite a few things to keep the part count below 800.
@Hedero That seems counterproductive, then. Surely it's better to wait a while so your P-38 will be fresh?
@Hedero What I said still applies. Just because a few other people uploaded P-38s, regardless of who started first, why should that affect when you choose to upload yours?
Thanks, @Treadmill103. I've wanted to add this Kelly Johnson design to the stable for a while.
@Hedero Generally, I don't recommend letting other people's actions drive yours. Just because a few (or a lot of) people are doing something doesn't mean you should follow suit....
@BuiltBionixInd10 Yeah, can't go wrong with black.
@DarDragon Smooth curves require a lot of parts. I suggest you use the X-ray feature to reveal the structure of the build.

Glad you like it, @Belloaka
@EternalDarkness If you don't want to upvote it, I'd rather you not comment either. And I'd appreciate it if you'd refer to me as SledDriver.
+6Thanks, @CRJ900Pilot
@Thefuriouschicken Because it's fun.
@Belloaka It does, it's just not very strong. You can yaw at around 1 degree/second.
@Sirnubenegra Thanks.
@JohnnyBoythePilot This is an original build : )
+1Thanks, @Treadmill103. What are the air gates?
Thanks, @Bendabomb
@anonymoususer976 Yeah, maybe.
+1@anonymoususer976 Well, it fires at a fixed velocity, so...

+1@Brendorkus Well, they are quite useful.
Thanks, @switdog08

@CRJ900Pilot Really? I had no idea... : )
@CRJ900Pilot That would be cool, but to do that we need a part that translates linearly, like a piston.
@Treadmill103 It handles beautifully, doesn't it : )
Thanks, @CRJ900Pilot. Why would I mind? I like intelligent questions. The reason is so that there would be continuity between the nose and the fuselage/wing section.
@switdog08 Yes, but the reason they don't show up is because in the orthographic photos, the airbrakes that make up the wing are not extended.

+1@Thefuriouschicken Good stuff.
@ChisP You don't seem interested in my builds, so why would I be interested in yours?
I didn't ask to be tagged on your posts, so if you could stop doing that I'd appreciate it...
+1@Vukasin123king Well, as I said, it works for me on both Windows and Android. Seems like you have a problem specific to your device or version of the game. Nothing I can do about that.

@Vukasin123king What do you mean you can't get it to work?
@Planeboi49620 There's a general rule that's held true for a long time: show, don't tell. Just post it and see how it does.
@Planeboi49620 Well, maybe someday we'll have flexible materials strong enough and light enough to be used as skins on supersonic aircraft. Until then, SimplePlanes will have to do...
@Thefuriouschicken I'm not happy with the shape.
