I remember these from ‘A bridge too far’ where they incorrectly stood in for p-51s and the like.

I have to agree with @Trainzo great choice, don’t think I’ve ever seen one of these. Flight could be better but I won’t let that distract me!

Lots of positives here. I’d be inclined to tone the handling down to a more realistic level but this is rather impressive for someone who is silver!

This is a really good build. Certainly better than anything I was making when silver. Refreshing to see a bomber build that handles like, well, a bomber good job!

Nice simple model of the tie bomber, shame roll doesn’t work but I’m sure you’ll crack that in time. What were the proton Torpedoes? (I didn’t get round to finding an air or ground target to try them on)

  • IJN Tenryuu 4.8 years ago

A lovely mobile-friendly ship. I found it keels over to the point of a capsize in a sharp turn. I’ve been working on a ship myself - I found if I put 2x gyros with no modding (but max inputs on the stability%) straddling the COM she stays flat when turning. Admittedly I’d like a bit of keeling over in a turn as it’s realistic, but in sp that just turns into a full on capsize. Nice build bud, I’m on low settings if you’ve found my predicament an isolated case!

  • Six-Year Plan battleship-A 4.8 years ago

This is a leviathan! Very impressive looking too I must say! As an avid builder of warships I may need a little advice from an expert. Is there a way to get battery firing guns with the new cannon part i.e. both barrels of a turret firing simultaneously? Also when using the rotators with pitch and roll for turret movement, is there a way to stop them from ‘auto’ returning to central?

If you know where radar coverage is and you switch your transponder off what’s tracking you? The ocean is a huge search area. Even floating debris drifts in various currents. @LeHieu000111

Jezza! When he does a documentary I’m fully onboard. The PQ17 convoy documentary is another brilliant relatively-unheard-of story. Don’t know your age group but back shortly after the millennium there was the ‘Greatest Briton’ series on telly and jezza did Brunel. “Lady Diana (a candidate for the same
series) I’m sure she’s a lovely person. But she’s not even in the same league!” I have no beef against Diana. She raised awareness and support for many charities and should be remembered for her work during her lifetime (before I get hate mail)

  • HS.121 TRIDENT 1C tri-jet challenge entry 4.8 years ago

I made one ages ago with a detachable mk1 Land Rover. It’s a rather underrepresented type and I wish I had the time to make one next but I’ve kinda mentioned I’d be doing a 1-11 next. I’ve been to Fort Paul outside Hull where the only surviving Beverley is. It’s a well thought out design and fullfills so many roles. They were actually made not far from where the only surviving type rests which is quite fitting. The Bev’ is a big bird too. I recommend a visit depending on where you’re based of course! @TheFantasticTyphoon

Fantastic job! This is The sort of ship that should have taken on the Bismarck and not a Battlecruiser. Battleships against Battlecruisers god the RN just didn’t learn did it! Think I remember reading somewhere they tried to avoid firing past a certain angle as some windows up front, no matter how armoured they made them, kept getting shattered by the shock.

  • I have a lot of teasers... 4.9 years ago

They were too costly to operate and they weren’t designed for long distance lifts so they kept suffering from transmission failures leading to the tandem rotors colliding (with terrible consequences). I’ve had a couple of family members ferried out to platforms in the 80s in the type. Nowadays it’s Bristow and CHC which I believe do the Gulf of Mexico’s platforms although I may be corrected on that. @QingyuZhou

  • I have a lot of teasers... 4.9 years ago

BA operated them for North Sea oil platforms. Very good attempt at the awkward lower case letting of ‘British airways’. Doing a similar aged BA aircraft and I’ve just written it off as too fiddly, so I doff my cap to you!
