@baallzebub yea but I keep hearing times of just over 1:20 which I don't really understand. even going slightly faster really just ruins any thing I can build in one way or another.
@LiamW no problem. maybe once you get get some nice builds. you can help me. every one seems to be getting times around 1:20 with good reliability on the tournament... I can only push 1:30.
if I push my designs faster the suspension will bust. if I make it stiffer. they become unstable.
as well as more speed meaning it hits the turn at ring 6 worse. meaning it hits it in a way that causes it to flip and usually crash.
@baallzebub I really just don't understand this... the bset I can get is 1:30. if I put more power behind it for speed. My suspension will bust. if I re-enforce it, it becomes unstable on bumps. and too much speed means it fails the turn at ring 6. hitting it at a spot that causes it to flip.
so really. I'm just lose there.
@tully2001 maybe you can help me... what could I do to improve my designs? I thought i was golden with the 1:30 time but apparently not. so what could I do? any suggestions?
@MadSpartan553 because I am literally pushing my designs to the limits here. if I make them go faster. they become unstable during the harsh bump segment at the beginning. and fail turn 6.
@Flakmagnet maximum of 25 90% of the time. plus you need to set up your wheel traction properly. 150% both settings on rear wheels 100% on both for front wheels. (more if you're not turning enough)
@kukimuki1234 pitch seems to work however I wouldn't use it personally. I still don't know if that is intentional. or just a happy accident due to how the rings are placed.
@aiden2805 again you have to build for the AI to contorl. set your rear wheels to have manual traction. both settings 150%. front wheels manual 100% on both. turnangle start at 25% and move it down if teh AI over steers
@marcox43 Well this was about the best I could do. this race is complicated in that you have to acutally build a plane within a specific speed zone not just super fast go go go XD
@aiden2805 its fast but it has no suspension. can't turn. bounces hard. which causes it to crash quit easily, the AI over steers constantly. and it goes over 200mph down the inital hill. it sucks.
@CODENAMEBOB I am the only reason length and part count is as high as it is now. I got the part count upped to 150 from 100. and the length increased by 5 meters.
@belugasub well there's nothing wrong with that but there's a part limit to keep in mind. and your'e going to be using a lot of those parts to build a suspension which you WILL NEED on this course.
@AndrewGarrison you should really consider adding the end date onto the actual post its self. people keep asking instead of looking at the tournament tab.
@LiamW well thats only partly the AI tripping out. the other part is you need to setup your wheels properly to make it work with the AI.
Simple advice to do this. for starters. is you need to use manual traction on your wheels. back wheels 150% on both settings. front wheels just keep at 100%. your turn angle will be usually 20 or 25 degrees.
And finnally and most importantly. you need a suspension system. build something like I have on here or if you want I can build one on your vehicle. a simple one. you just need something to lessen the impacts so that you do not bounce all over the place.
@aiden2805 top speed alone doesn't mean much once you start hitting the off road bumps. can it go that fast and take a hard hit to the front left wheel? or any wheel?
@LiamW well this isn't even what I'm entering to compete. not reliable enough. especially at the turn at ring 6.
But you're the one who said that your box can't even finish the race. so... your chances aren't really that high of beating me. considering I got a good racer that has a 100% reliability rate.
@gameboy95953 it uses throttle. I just don't know if the pitch command actually properly works. or its just a fluke becuase this is AI control from planes.
@gameboy95953 the throttle control and it seems W on pitch. but I"m not entirly sure if that is intentional or just accidental due to the rings being slightly put in the ground so that they work.
@baallzebub yea but I keep hearing times of just over 1:20 which I don't really understand. even going slightly faster really just ruins any thing I can build in one way or another.

so really. I'm just lose there.
@baallzebub HOW???
@tully2001 maybe you can help me... what could I do to improve my designs? I thought i was golden with the 1:30 time but apparently not. so what could I do? any suggestions?
Really having a hard time understanding how almost easy people are getting these times...
@MadSpartan553 Its always either it flips and goes crazy on all the jumps. or the suspension breaks when I try to push for a better time. (or both)
@MadSpartan553 because I am literally pushing my designs to the limits here. if I make them go faster. they become unstable during the harsh bump segment at the beginning. and fail turn 6.
@MadSpartan553 ok but how?
Howa are people getting these times of just over 1:20? are you all sure you're running on high physics simulation?
@Flakmagnet maximum of 25 90% of the time. plus you need to set up your wheel traction properly. 150% both settings on rear wheels 100% on both for front wheels. (more if you're not turning enough)
@kukimuki1234 pitch seems to work however I wouldn't use it personally. I still don't know if that is intentional. or just a happy accident due to how the rings are placed.
@TTHHSSSS how often is occasionally... I currently got 1:30 100% no flipping reliable...
@TTHHSSSS how reliable?
@kukimuki1234 no roll is the turning controls.
@Flakmagnet if the AI does that then your steering is too strong.
@LiamW well I was just making sure. a lot of people make that mistake. including me when I first started building it.
@NailedByAce well no sclaed parts are also banned. as he awnsered to scaled shocks.
@DogeMaster14 oh tire. not the whole thing. allright show me. Right now I"m just working on a new vehicle to try to lower my time.
@DogeMaster14 if I could understand that last sentance tht would help
@DogeMaster14 well of course. I already have a current entry. the LV-1-B is what is currently up for entry. I'm trying to see if I can improve.
@DogeMaster14 Honestly if I were to enter something for those races. I'd have a lot more engines.
Well it seems i may need to step up my game already with times of 1:24 floating around....
@DogeMaster14 well its designed to do indie air race which is more techincal tahn both of those at this point. :P
@aiden2805 After 10 test runs. its crashed on the first 2 rings 9 times. and hte 6th ring 1 time. never able to finish.
@aiden2805 I think you just need a full new design. there isn't much you can do with that one for this kind of race.
@aiden2805 this thing hasn't finished the race once yet.
@aiden2805 its fast but it has no suspension. can't turn. bounces hard. which causes it to crash quit easily, the AI over steers constantly. and it goes over 200mph down the inital hill. it sucks.
@aiden2805 what is your car exactly? nothing I can see on your page would really be able to do that.
@aiden2805 Don't you have the new race tracks? the update should be out on all platforms by now.
@Flakmagnet It was 100 at first but luckily because I was here early. I got them to up it.
@CODENAMEBOB I am the only reason length and part count is as high as it is now. I got the part count upped to 150 from 100. and the length increased by 5 meters.
@LiamW btw. just make sure that when you're building it. hinge rotators need 90 degrees moment. 0% speed. other wise they're locked.
Is it to early to start looking at finish times? :)
@LiamW well I'm a bit eager to see what you end up building any how.
@belugasub well there's nothing wrong with that but there's a part limit to keep in mind. and your'e going to be using a lot of those parts to build a suspension which you WILL NEED on this course.
@RailfanEthan what dummy?
@LiamW well no not with the manual traction setting I told you about. that's how I get all my vehicles to drive so good under AI control
@AndrewGarrison you should really consider adding the end date onto the actual post its self. people keep asking instead of looking at the tournament tab.
@LiamW well thats only partly the AI tripping out. the other part is you need to setup your wheels properly to make it work with the AI.

@DogeMaster14 what do you think? :3 (also thx)
@LiamW well this isn't even what I'm entering to compete. not reliable enough. especially at the turn at ring 6.
But you're the one who said that your box can't even finish the race. so... your chances aren't really that high of beating me. considering I got a good racer that has a 100% reliability rate.
@Moofie16 they download it and the AI drives it.
@gameboy95953 it uses throttle. I just don't know if the pitch command actually properly works. or its just a fluke becuase this is AI control from planes.
@Ahtzee it doesn't use brake at all. but yes.
@gameboy95953 the throttle control and it seems W on pitch. but I"m not entirly sure if that is intentional or just accidental due to the rings being slightly put in the ground so that they work.
@gameboy95953 it uses the roll controls aka A and D
