You are a small team, so I expect that you will need to conserve resources for new projects. Assuming you continue on the physics based genre, I expect you will count on the strong community base when evangelizing your new product. My suggestions for you are as follows:
1.) Remember that the game comes in cycles of new players entering every 4 to 6 months. Any new game that you create has to appeal to these new waves of users. Keep the bar low for immediate enjoyment (fun).
2.) The greatest appeal of simple planes was sandbox mode. Remember to have a huge world and lots of options to explore, if you have a world at all.
3.). For advanced users in SimplePlanes, many young people who started out years ago have become engineers, and use auto desk, or Star CCM in school or work. If your new game is design-based try to create a bridge into other programs, so creations can be used elsewhere.
I think this is a massive improvement to the game. Bravo for continuing to support the community. Look back at older player’s early designs from 5 years ago and compare to today. What a difference! Understand that your game has shaped so many lives in ways you may never comprehend. Think, for example, of all the students you’ve inspired to get into software or aeronautical engineering. Keep up the good work, gentlemen. ~Walrus Sr.
I don’t usually comment on creations these days, but my jaw hit the floor with this exquisite design. Juxtaposition of quality, functionality, and style. Bravo!
Congratulations! I’m curious if our name at all inspired you to go with bacon? Walrus Jr. is in Engineering school as well. He is currently working in STAR CCM designing aero for the school’s formula SAE race car. We started playing SP when he was a young boy. God, I’m old…
The pyramid was supposed to be a boss man you had to fight, but that was scrapped last minute. There were lots of interesting items that never made it into the game.
@PlaneFlightX - Walrus Sr. here. I never left the game, but my life is too busy to build these days. It is sad because Jr. has some sick designs that will never see the light of day since he is too busy to play, too.
Most people don’t know this, but I’ve had some influence over the hiring of a few of the Jundroo dev. Mostly behind the scenes stuff that most would never know about or understand. These developers are fantastic and I would easily hire them in my organization (I’m a director in a very large software company). The people, players, and community in SP are quite special and I marvel at the energy and dedication put into this platform. This game has shaped futures and has moved so many young people into related careers. It is the single most important game in influencing many young lives. I am grateful for this game, and I will always be a player.
The .50 Beowulf is a nice choice but .450 Bushmaster is a more relevant round, and penetrates steel better. After twenty shots your shoulder starts to turn purple with either round.
LOL, I miss your “Simple Wheels” gag from years ago. Another funny one was when you “lost” everyone’s work, and the site displayed only the very first players. That’s when I learned that Boxglow was one of the first players. I think my son and me came in at number player 150 or so after two weeks of bugging me to buy the game. On a side note, I’ve probably repurchased this game a dozen times over the years for new devices, and as a way to quietly support Jundroo.
Nice design, guys. I’ll move over to SR soon. The only thing that really kept me at bay is the fact that your world design needed to be more geographically rich. Sandbox mode is where I live.
I came here to say great job. I haven't posted in months it seems but saw this and had to give you a solid for a job well done. Suspension is on my mind these days as I prepare to upgrade my car.
@Clayton123 Sorry if this plane works kinda wonky, but thats supposed to happen. This is a replica of a warbird, so it is bound to fly kinda shady. Oh, and on take off, activate #3 to be more stable. This plane is kinda tricky, so just be careful.
Pretty good. We are still around. Walrus Sr. Here. Still in touch with the game and developers. I know they are finally working on SP 2 now. @russianspy
@WinsWings - Yes! We made a lot of great memories together. Walrus Jr. was a talented builder and his helped drive his passion to enroll in engineering and specialize in aero. I think those kids are using Siemens NX and run their race car sims through Rescale HPC that was kind enough to donate a lot of server time. I wish my company could have donated some HPC resources, but the powers that be at my work are more interested in their Redbull racing program, and not helping students.
Thanks for the highlight on my old Bear. Started in this game ages ago as an activity to play with my son. I think we were player #150 or so. Walrus Jr. is now a Sr. in UTD engineering and currently leads the schools Formula SAE program. No time to play these days!
I want a shirt that says “Simple Planes” but include a picture of a car.

+19Almost 7 years in this game and I still can’t properly land an airplane.
+15Bring back Simple Wheels! @AndrewGarrison

+7Bring back Simple Wheels @andrewgarrison
+6I’m here, but I manage 16 people in a software company. Finding time is difficult! @Bman01
+6I talked to Kevin Murphy about this. What he basically did was grab my B-52 and simplify it for the game.
+6The .50 Beowulf is a nice choice but .450 Bushmaster is a more relevant round, and penetrates steel better. After twenty shots your shoulder starts to turn purple with either round.
+5Great video. From someone who started in the beginning, I can’t tell you how amazed I am at the progress in the game.

+4Looks great! Did you use my roundel from the B-52, or rebuild it from scratch?
+4I’m still here! 😜@IceCraftGaming
+3Wow, are you back to building things? Good to see you here again.
+3I’m an advanced AI that lives in the game. I’m let out only on special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays. @SupremeDorian
+3Wonderful job and good for you to work through such difficulties to complete it.

+3@hfusiwjf29 - again, great job!
+3OK, you got my attention. :-)
+2I own a 2012 GSR. Bought it new in Dallas and tuned it with a COBB Access Port the same day. Ask me anything about this car.
+2Bravo! Greta would be proud.
+2@ReinMcDeer - Everyone loves bacon missiles.
+2Sr. Here. I want Jr to post his plane but he just started college (Engineering). Maybe soon... @Speedbird476
+2Like it. Here is Walrus Jr’s ship from nearly 6 years ago.

+2Should have more upvotes. Good job!
+2good meme good meme
+2Lmao
+2Yes, the game used my plane with some modifications to make it simpler. I’m friends with some of the Junroo developers. @Starmang10
+2I’ve been so busy at work that I missed this. You are a remarkable young lad and I’m glad you have been recognized this way. Congratulations!
+2@Waffner @Abhishek700 Thanks guys
+2We're honored, thank you very much
+2Yes, we are. @ThomasRoderick
+2@enzoBoeing757 - I might redo this plane. It has been ages has it not?
+2That’s OK. No time to fix it these days. @Kimcotupan15
+2Walrus approved!
+2@WinsWings - Thank you, sir!
+1@WinsWings - Ha, ha, this is beautiful. I love how you can drift it. You’re a great dad.
