@Numbers2 The tutorials really seem like they are for familiarizing you with the interface in the context of building your first plane, not for teaching you how to build a plane.
Ironically, SimplePlanes isn't so simple. A lot of the best creations uploaded to this website are made by people who have a ton of experience. Many, many hours are required to get to this level of building. If you check out some profiles of platinum users you’ll often see that the older the post, the less advanced the creation is; you can see their progression.
Many things in SimplePlanes cannot just be explained in a single tutorial. In a sense, SP really is just like any other art.
@Dragorans The 5 upvotes are used as an example, it really depends on how many submission there end up being. Last time it was anything with atleast 5 upvotes.
@BeanMaster69 This is fine. My pinned comment is really only there to stop people from marking their 2 month old post (which has not changed since) a submission. If you've yet to upload a final version of your build, my pinned comment does not apply.
@TDevil36 "Winning this challenge is not based only on how well made your submission is. In fact, I will primarily look at the difference between the remaster and the original build. In other words; a god-tier submission based on a already god-tier original post, will not be graded as high as good submission which remastered a mediocre creation."
Okay, I understand that some people would like to enter this challenge with a build they were already working on / just finished: this is absolutely fine.
However, if it was already published for a bit (lets say more than 3 days before the challenge) I will not let it enter. To me, the whole point of a challenge like this is to inspire you to build something, that purpose is defeated by submitting creations you made a while back.
@jamesPLANESii Extensively modifying an old build is okay, I think. Although just the addition of parts here and there won't be enough; it does need to be rebuild in some areas.
@KONOJERRYDA Time pressure, I guess. (Mostly just Vincent's limited attention span, I gotta keep that guy busy or he starts trying to teach his cat quantum mechanics.)
@Voxtagram Uhm? There is an engine, and it does drive? It works perfectly. Ofcourse there isn't an ingame 'car engine' part, because the IRL truck is electric.
FT's literally function as a programming language / calculus; you cannot just learn it through a tutorial or two, instead a whole selection of courses is required.
Honestly I can't blame Jundroo for not creation an entire bachelor programme just to learn people how to make their aircraft have a custom starting sequence, lol.
Idk, maybe my opinion is also just a bit twisted: to me the learning of new stuff is what I love most about SP.
"Like, even for the very least we could separate this stuff into colours or something..."
I think this is a good idea, kinda like some plugins for VS Code.
@Jimmyhotbody You can :D
@KingOfTypos I'm confused. Could you formulate your question differently? I don't understand what you mean.
@WaitBreadIsntAfruit Just tag one of the moderators and ask them to make it a successor. :)

@RedFox65 Yeah, this is fine. Proportions may change, however overall design should stay the same.

@NakAk I am shocked at the audacity of this statement
+4@ollielebananiaCFSP Yeah, sure!

@ZeroWithSlashedO Yes
@BaconAircraft Wi Tu Lo
@LieutenantSOT This is fine, I also came up with this challenge as I am remastering one of my own older builds.
+1@WaitBreadIsntAfruit Yeah, that would work :)
@ReinMcDeer Naturally, yes.
+1@GAMINGOTAKU66 That is not a remaster / remake, that is just a slightly upgraded aircraft. Sorry, that does not count.
This challenge is an eggcelent idea...
+2@IceCraftGaming I think this is Agency Bold
+3I didn't know Jundroo was older than me lmao
Congrats
+1@2Papi2Chulo Hipity hopity, I've stolen your intellectual property.
@Vincent The other guy was Wincent, I have been told he's a distant relative of Wario.
@KONOJERRYDA Time pressure, I guess. (Mostly just Vincent's limited attention span, I gotta keep that guy busy or he starts trying to teach his cat quantum mechanics.)
+1@OOF17 Currently not possible, since I set it to premier tomorrow at 10:00 CET. (Which means the video is private until then)
If they run out of bread, why don't they just eat pastries?
@Alvin8 Hmmm...
@Voxtagram Uhm? There is an engine, and it does drive? It works perfectly. Ofcourse there isn't an ingame 'car engine' part, because the IRL truck is electric.
+1@FRIGGLES No, it should be twin engine / twin powerplant.
+1@FRIGGLES Yes. The minimum is two, but I've stated no maximum.
+1Dear @BaconAircraft,
After reading your carefully formulated reply, I would like to respond to your statement with the following:
“Splish splash, your opinion is trash”
With kind regards,

When they take 'do a barrel roll' a little too seriously, and suddenly their jets look like barrels
