    Shakers are fair due to the existence of the glitch being reasonably well known now and it is possible for everyone to figure out how to do the glitch by looking how others did it. Also, this glitch doesn't require modding.
    But most importantly, there isn't a rule against shakers. Although I personally wish there was one.

  • Eagle Pass 7.7 years ago

    @OtterOfToast
    Andrew Garrison said that he will NOT disqualify shakers. Please read things properly before you start spreading misinformation.

  • Eagle Pass 7.7 years ago

    @OtterOfToast
    I'm pretty sure that a fuel less glitch plane will win and that a few people will make one of those. I also happen to know that a lot of people make mistakes like adding fuel to their plane. Not to mention how many people are screaming out in confusion how to get under 3 minutes, whilst the 'secrets' have been told multiple times already, and they could easily just look at how other people did it.
    I doubt that you telling your tips will decrease your chances at the tournament by much...

  • Eagle Pass 7.7 years ago

    @FASTFLIGHT
    For this race you need to build a glider differently than you normally would. You need to make it highly aerodynamic and have much higher wing loading than a proper glider would.

  • Eagle Pass 7.7 years ago

    I'm part of team 2:02. I would try to make something a lot faster. But I'm unmotivated due to knowing that this tournament will be won by a glitch plane. And I don't feel like building a glitch plane myself.

  • Eagle Pass 7.7 years ago

    @AnonymousUser99
    I recommend reading the tournament details of races in which you participate. 'All fuel is removed from your airplane at the start of the race.'

    I don't have any problems with people making spin offs of my planes.

  • The Dragon 7.8 years ago

    @FlyingThings
    Using a prop plane can get you pretty far in a jet tournament. As long as you have some powerful Kawasaki engines, that is.

  • Mehgjik-3-18 'Riyu-Elisa' 7.8 years ago

    Thanks!

  • Mehgjik-3-18 'Riyu-Elisa' 7.8 years ago

    @MRstadlles
    If the engine was modded than it wouldn't have been able to participate in the tournament.

    I tested your X1 and your X10 dragless II, each plane 3 runs on both sides. The X10 survived 3/6 times completing the course in 2:29/2:30. And your X1 didn't crash once and completed the course consistently in 2:20

  • The Dragon 7.8 years ago

    Four more hours until the tournament starts and I can look in terror whether my plane is reliable during the tournament. And if it is, to see how long it takes for me to get paired against one of many faster planes.
    I shouldn't have made such a fast and reliable plane last tournament. Having a meh plane makes stuff way more exciting.

    I haven't used the word nullified myself, but I assume that it is going through the last ring and the game registering a miss despite the plane not missing said ring. Since I've seen that exact thing happen a lot. But perhaps I'm wrong and it is the bug which causes your plane not to finish at all.

  • The Dragon 7.8 years ago

    @InterStellarENT
    That's strange, in my tests a plane going through the finish at 2100mph had only about 30% chance of 'missing' the finish.

  • The Dragon 7.8 years ago

    @SkullsAndCrossbones
    Part scaling is only allowed in mod class tournaments. This is not a mod class tournament.

  • The Dragon 7.8 years ago

    @InterStellarENT
    There is a bug that causes fast planes to sometimes glitch through the finish. The faster your plane goes the likelier you are to suffer from this bug. The only way to reduce the likelihood of this happening is to limit how fast your plane goes through the finish.

  • The Dragon 7.8 years ago

    @SuperSanic
    I have plenty of time to test stuff.

  • The Dragon 7.8 years ago

    @SuperSanic
    You start in the air. For the rest, make sure you have a rather stable and reasonably agile plane.

  • The Dragon 7.8 years ago

    1:02/1:03 and not even 100% reliable. But I submitted it anyway. I can't wait until the next prop class tournament starts, I'm bad at jets. D:

  • The Dragon 7.8 years ago

    @ShockRF
    Scaling is only allowed in mod class tournaments, this isn't a mod class tournament. Also, there is a link to the tournament guide on top of the page you know, has anyone ever tried reading that?

  • Eagle Pass 7.8 years ago

    @Baldovino
    Disabling collisions is always allowed.

  • The Dragon 7.8 years ago

    Just a general warning to all participants. If your plane goes too fast than there is a risk that the last checkpoint is being counted as missed. Fastest airplane speed without problems according to my limited testing: 1800 mph.

  • J-50H 7.8 years ago

    @Typhlosion130
    I've tested this plane on my desktop, on the left start there is about 10-20% of your plane trying to hug the ground. And on the right start about 100% chance of your plane hitting the pyramid. Also, it sometimes says your plane missed a ring after passing the finish, whilst it didn't.

  • Eagle Pass 7.8 years ago

    @MeetThyDoom
    The scale attribute may only be used in mod class tournaments, this is not a mod class tournament.

  • The Dragon 7.8 years ago

    1:14, and only 70% reliability so far. I'm getting the feeling that I'm terrible at making jets.

  • Eagle Pass 7.8 years ago

    @JoJoJKAT
    XML modding is only allowed in mod class tournaments. Unlimited class just means that all standard parts in the editor may be used (except for weapons).

  • Eagle Pass 7.8 years ago

    @goboygo1
    Well it's a race, and it is more than enough time for a fast glider.

  • Eagle Pass 7.8 years ago

    @jamesPLANESii
    Heh, my current best prototype does it in 2:02, I'm terribly sorry.

  • Eagle Pass 7.8 years ago

    @t8erh8er
    My Mehgjik-1-18, the plane that represented me in the Typhoon Circuit, completed the course in 2:26, completing the course within 3 minutes should be quite possible.

  • Eagle Pass 7.8 years ago

    @t8erh8er
    A higher time limit will make this the most tedious and longest tournament in the history of Simpleplanes.

  • Eagle Pass 7.8 years ago

    @goboygo1
    A race can't take five minutes on average, if the time limit is three minutes... Also, there were about 200 competitors on average in the last few prop and unlimited class tournaments. And I expect less competitors in this one.

  • Eagle Pass 7.8 years ago

    @goboygo1
    Your calculations are most likely of, the time limit is still 3 minutes. I wouldn't expect this tournament to take too much longer than the Typhoon Circuit, which was completed in less than 10 hours.

  • Eagle Pass 7.8 years ago

    Two simpleplanes tournaments how fun. Anyway, I never made a glider before. If anything besides minimizing drag is important for making a fast glider, please do tell.

  • Typhoon Circuit 7.8 years ago

    @Alienbeef0421
    I know, I am a terrible person.

  • Typhoon Circuit 7.8 years ago

    @KiNo
    Why is your plane slightly faster than mine. You promised to spend only 30 minutes on your plane. You evil person!

  • Typhoon Circuit 7.8 years ago

    @Alienbeef0421
    People fear KiNo too much. I'd like to note that the only prop class tournament he has won to my knowledge is the Indy Air race. Which isn't really comparable to this race.

  • Typhoon Circuit 7.8 years ago

    @robloxweponco
    The AI has no problems with my plane. And that one goes 753 mph. I'm afraid that it is just your plane that is not AI proof on high speed.

  • Typhoon Circuit 7.8 years ago

    @robloxweponco
    What kind of problems does the AI have with high speed aircraft? I never noticed any.

  • Typhoon Circuit 7.8 years ago

    @Typhlosion130
    My plane has enough fuel to fly for 2:19, how unfortunate that the tools I have been given are so crude. :P
    But anyway, I have seen tournament entries with more than 1000 gallons of fuel...(I suppose such an amount is necessary if your plane has more than 20 turboprops)

  • Typhoon Circuit 7.8 years ago

    It seems that a lot of people carry a lot more fuel in their plane than they need. Remember you only need enough fuel to fly for 3 minutes at most. Not for several hours. Not taking twenty times more fuel with you than necessary will significantly improve your planes performance.

  • Typhoon Circuit 7.8 years ago

    @Zardos
    A plane can be too maneuverable? Well, perhaps some of my racing planes are less stable and more agile than a human might like. But they aren't made to be flown by humans.

  • T232 lilly 3 (f looks edtion) 7.8 years ago

    @CALVIN232
    The race takes 3 minutes at most, your plane completes it at less with some minor improvements. 6 gallons is more than enough to make your plane fly for 3 minutes. You have enough fuel to fly for an hour at the moment...

  • T232 lilly 3 (f looks edtion) 7.8 years ago

    @CALVIN232
    Especially reducing the amount of fuel you carry is important, you'd reduce your planes weight by 30%, that is a huge improvement.

  • T232 lilly 3 (f looks edtion) 7.8 years ago

    I just wanted to note that a few small adjustments can improve your plane quite a bit.
    First of all, you carry 112 gallons of fuel, you only need 5 to complete the course. Lowering the amount of fuel you carry will improve the speed and agility of your plane.
    Secondly, your plane will go faster if you set the pitch control to fixed and +80%, also improving the propeller diameter should speed up your plane.
    Thirdly, those pitch surfaces on your primary wings do nothing positive for you plane, you better remove them. For pitch surfaces to be effective they should be further away from the center. (I'm not sure whether that would be the center of mass or center of lift)
    Oh, and good luck in the tournament.

  • Mehgjik-1-18 'Storzhkin' 7.8 years ago

    @CALVIN232
    It is allowed by the rules of the tournament, but I do suppose that it gives me an advantage over iOS users.

  • Mehgjik-1-18 'Storzhkin' 7.8 years ago

    @CALVIN232
    It is quite possible to make a smaller plane than this, but not by much if you actually want to win the tournament.
    The rear parts, well, I connected them to the fuselage and moved them backwards with fine tuner. The game still thinks they are solidly connected to the fuselage.

  • P-56-M 7.8 years ago

    @Typhlosion130
    I wasn't trying to suggest that you haven't done your best to reduce drag. That said I have a T3000 plane on my pc with 109 drag. I'm just mystified why your plane has considerably more drag, considering that your nose design doesn't seem worse. :S

  • P-56-M 7.8 years ago

    @Typhlosion130
    Quite a good plane. It seems however to have more drag than I would expect from looking at it. Which is unfortunate, this plane seems to reach 2:13 on my machine and I think it would hit 2:11 or 2:12 if you could reduce the drag to 109 or so.
