@EarthwormJim
If your plane can do 0:26 than a modified Homura-Madoka should be able to do the same. As soon as I fixed its agility, balancing and all that nonsense.
@JohnnyBoythePilot
To be honest the rules page needs a rework. If you enter a xml modded plane in a tournament than your plane just won't participate, you won't get banned. That probably was an old rule before they had a script to check for mods.
Also, not all XML modding is forbidden. Just everything with scale, and most stuff involving engines or fuel. https://www.simpleplanes.com/Mods/View/616915/Tournament-Validator <- This mod should be able to tell whether your plane has been modded in a way that isn't allowed by the rules.
Indy air race, again? Oh well, let's hope that I'll find the motivation within 10 days to do all the redesigning necessary to get Lukhanin's time to 0:30 or so.
Or I can hope that KiNo doesn't enter. :P
@JetFly
Kino is also German for cinema. Russian has a few German words in it. Anyway, I think that I've seen KiNo speak German before, so I'd assume that he is German rather.
Well, I have uploaded my glorious 'Homura-Madoka' feel free to be amazed by my grand design. (Yeah I know I should have used 32 rather than 8 turboprops, but still...)
It seems that I'm stuck with a plane that has about equal chance to finish in 1:35 or 1:36. I suppose that that means that I need to start from scratch and make a turbo prop design if I want to have any chance of winning. D':
@Lahoski107
I have tried different naming schemes. None of the planes that I gave a honorary title won a tournament. I have a plane named after two girls from a visual novel and one after two girls from an anime. Both of the latter won. Conclusion naming my racing planes after anime/visual novel girls makes sure that my victory is 100% certain. :P
@Alienbeef0421
5 runs on each side. 1 crash on each side.
1:36-1:38 no missed checkpoints.
Makes too big movements. And has about 29% fuel left at the end of the race. Good speed and acceleration.
Hmm, I almost got me a properly reliably 1:35. I'm wondering whether I could do 1:34. I might just have slightly too slow acceleration. But I should probably spend my energy on a more important matter. I need to figure out what anime girls to name my improved Storzhkin after...
@Lahoski107
Disabling collisions is allowed. It is quite common practice actually. I've participated in a decent amount of these tournaments, I know the rules quite well.
@Lahoski107
Uh, I think that it only happened once that a plane managed to win two tournaments. But someone may correct me if I'm wrong. Also, none of the tournament winning planes build so far are perfect.
@Lahoski107
Using the same plane for multiple tournaments is allowed. It rarely is a good idea but it is allowed. What makes you think that it wouldn't be allowed?
My planes and I don't seem to get along with this race. :S
What kind of sorcery did KiNo use to get Dampfwespe so reliable?
@Texasfam04
Nah, Dampfwespe needs only 29 seconds to complete the course, and manages to somehow be very reliable as well.
@SlowJet
Only if I fix the current reliability of 10%. :D
@KASA
Low drag and loads of engine power, of course.
@EarthwormJim
If your plane can do 0:26 than a modified Homura-Madoka should be able to do the same. As soon as I fixed its agility, balancing and all that nonsense.
Hmm, the reliability is horrendous, but 0:28... This will be fun when I'm done tuning its agility. :D
@JohnnyBoythePilot

@TheNCRranger
All the propeller engines you can currently find in the designer are allowed.

@Daedalus
73.3% reliability is a bit low. You might end up losing against a prop with such low reliability. 1:28 is a good time though.
Storzhkin got to the semifinals, again. Next time there is a mod class on this track I'll get in the semi finals with a prop. I'm noticing a pattern.
@Smilohypo
There is a time limit of 3 minutes per race, you need a faster plane.
@Rosse
Uh, 43?
I got 1:20-1:22 and a whopping 50% reliability, you are all doomed. :D
It seems that the Ayano-Kyouko can't get through this track at all. D:
Also, what exactly would be different about tournaments due to the update?
@temporaryaccount
?
@SuperSanic
My guess is that you don't know that I've never won more than two matches in a car tournament. D:
@aceofspades2707
Uh, you didn't get second, you got eliminated in the third round.
@JetFly
I have no idea who that is. This plane isn't named after a person anyway.
@JetFly
Kino is also German for cinema. Russian has a few German words in it. Anyway, I think that I've seen KiNo speak German before, so I'd assume that he is German rather.
@SuperSanic
I'm not sure, I might have still been bronze when I won at The Dragon.
P)ease no car tournaments, I'm not good at those. D:
@Geekpride @GrumpyRacing
If you guys made shakers, well those crashes are being caused by the power of anime. I won't allow a shaker to win this time.
@SlowJet
You don't need a minus value. You just need to invert the propeller pitch.
@SlowJet
Why not put reverse facing props on manual as well?
Well, I have uploaded my glorious 'Homura-Madoka' feel free to be amazed by my grand design. (Yeah I know I should have used 32 rather than 8 turboprops, but still...)
@Braydonsjej
You will get disqualified. It is a prop class tournament. You may only use propeller engines.
@beastpilot124
Personally I only upload the plane I actually intend to use.
I'm in the 1:34 club now. Next step 1:33!
@helilover03
I connect it to the main fuselage and move it backwards with Fine Tuner. The game doesn't notice that it isn't connected anymore.
@JetWondy
It reaches speeds of up to 758mph whilst going through the course.
@EarthwormJim
Well, I've come prepared as well. My current best prototype uses eight T3000s. :D
@EarthwormJim
Seems like I have to completely redo my balancing. All due to you making a 1:34 plane. From now on you are my secondary evil nemesis.
It seems that I'm stuck with a plane that has about equal chance to finish in 1:35 or 1:36. I suppose that that means that I need to start from scratch and make a turbo prop design if I want to have any chance of winning. D':

@Lahoski107
Last 'Daredevil' and 'The Dragon'.
@Lahoski107
Well, it seems you should tell the mods that they should ban me. For I'm a filthy cheater. :P
@Lahoski107
Alternatively, I won two tournaments due to being a cheater. And no one noticed. :P
@Lahoski107
Feel free to ask a dev or whoever. Far from all XML modding is forbidden...
@Lahoski107
Disabling collisions is allowed. It is quite common practice actually. I've participated in a decent amount of these tournaments, I know the rules quite well.
@Lahoski107
What is not?
@helilover03
Nevermind, I misread your comment.
@SajabAerospace
Disabling collisions is always allowed in tournaments.
@Lahoski107
Uh, I think that it only happened once that a plane managed to win two tournaments. But someone may correct me if I'm wrong. Also, none of the tournament winning planes build so far are perfect.
@Lahoski107
It just seems to me that you underestimate how much time it costs to build a competitive racing plane.
@helilover03
So, you made a glitch plane?
@Lahoski107
Using the same plane for multiple tournaments is allowed. It rarely is a good idea but it is allowed. What makes you think that it wouldn't be allowed?
