What a cop out.
OK my top three; mine, cloak and dagger, bomber. If it's just about easy flying then bomber, cloak and dagger is fine as a vtol example but is really hard to transit too and from forward flight, mine could have done with more wing and elevator but the speed, undercarriage, balance and weapons IMHO put it ahead of the others.
@PlanesOfOld switch the activation to pitch or roll and set 15 degrees and 50% speed would be where I would start small part of the wing usually works.
I've got a half built wasp/scout helicopter in my saved list but I've yet to have any sort of controlled flight with it as of yet my helicopter builds haven't really looked much like anything that's ever been in service.
@SirGorbachev yup the landing gear and getting the props so they didn't shake the plane apart took a fair bit of work would have been so much easier to stick the vtols in the fuselage.
I like it and my comments are suggestion that I feel would improve the overall package, I've also added my Pucara to FredDeans challenge, next up a Super Etendard I think as the Commet/Nimrod build is causing me sleepless nights.
It's an improvement on the previous generation but I noticed that the vertical stabilizer seems to bounce a lot like it's not secured correctly and the outer wings are prone to falling off at 350mph and as you have the gear linked to throttle 350 comes up pdq.
@FredDeane Ah I guess I should have added instructions. On the ground select 5 push the vtol slider almost to the top, deselect 5 and now push the slide all the way up so it's ready to lift the gear (group 6). Power on and away she goes, rotation speed is about 160ish and she is quite happy up to 350ish flat. Don't try dive bombing as the wing ends will come off about 500mph as you pull out of the dive. Group 1 drops the bombs, 2,3&4 fire the rockets.
Perhaps an end date, indication of scoring system and you having been here more than a day would help to get people interested in a challenge you set. Try uploading some original content and commenting/entering others?
@Griffith may as well be unless you fancy the Delta Dart instead that I've just thrown into the Century fighters challenge, that's capable of way more than 2100mph.
Have a look here:
https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/5d9D1x/Mach-7-5
Mach3 capable down low, Mach7+ at 70-100k feet, roll is your friend to keep the nose from rising and falling as it doesn't rob speed.
Lots depends on how the SAM hits you, I've had trainer jet survive being clipped for example and other jets being plinked on the cockpit and no chance.
@SirGorbachev And there was me with a half built Pucara sitting in my saved planes list, well done for getting in first although it's still not showing as a successor, can I suggest you save the cockpit of this and then paste the rest of your plane onto this one before sharing and you should be listed as a successor.
Pitch is good enough under 3000mph and 50k feet any higher than that and I usually roll to the side and the nose will rise or fall depending on how much you roll. The principal is high and very very fast.
3300mph and an almost infinite supply of fuel I like it but if it's hypnotoads design in the first place it would be nice to drop him credit. Can I suggest you steal an engine out of mine, save it as a sub assembly and the replace your jets to see how fast you really can go.
Thanks folks, vertical take off is simple, power up pitch forward and once you are in the air and moving forward slide the vtol forward over the space of a few seconds, works best if you get up some speed before and during the transition as you need the wings to provide lift.
Much smaller fuel cell would be my first suggestion 9000gallons is way too heavy for this little plane. 500 gallons should be enough for a quick flap about the islands, also consider moving it one or two blocks closer to the cockpit.
@Scriefers I was waiting for the download when I made the comment, it flies fine on my tablet.
Delightful design I don't even care if it flies or not on my device.

Flown it enjoyed it could have done without activators 1-4, you could have stuck lots of sets of rockets on board with those activators.
It's ugly and hard to get in the air and then safely back on the ground however it's good once your up and flying.
Rips apart on the ground.
Worthy entry although transit to forward flight is far from easy.
@Legomore time to pick your winner.
@ILoveplanez about time that you rated and decided your winners on this challenge.
@shootster06 @tominator come on guys this stuff needs rating and the competition deciding.
It looks good but as you're aware is full of issues. Short of a full rebuild I don't see a way to fix the one I've got left a wing flexing issue.
@StealthBomber very useful, many thanks.
@PlanesOfOld an obvious example https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/r43hjo/F106-Delta-Dart
@PlanesOfOld switch the activation to pitch or roll and set 15 degrees and 50% speed would be where I would start small part of the wing usually works.
@PlanesOfOld use rotators and structural wing components.
Cracking job it flies OK as well probably could do with more rcn jets. Gives me ideas as to how finish the scout.
I've got a half built wasp/scout helicopter in my saved list but I've yet to have any sort of controlled flight with it as of yet my helicopter builds haven't really looked much like anything that's ever been in service.
Looks excellent, flies well, great stuff.
@SirGorbachev yup the landing gear and getting the props so they didn't shake the plane apart took a fair bit of work would have been so much easier to stick the vtols in the fuselage.
@PlanesOfOld not impossible just totally daft and pointless with a high power vtol engine 100k is in the bag.
Awesome detail.
Stunning representation, I even enjoyed taking it apart to look how you made bits work.
I like it and my comments are suggestion that I feel would improve the overall package, I've also added my Pucara to FredDeans challenge, next up a Super Etendard I think as the Commet/Nimrod build is causing me sleepless nights.

Great effort at making this big heavy jet.
A good effort, I've posted up a successor with a few fixes that I thought appropriate.
Delightful plane to fly just be gentle with the controls or she rips apart, perhaps more fuel would have helped too?
@Griffith yup, single modified medium jet, no other way to get realistic(ish) performance from a single power source.
Deserves a Lol I've seen footage of this thing in ground tethered flight testing yours is almost too easy to fly.
Have a look at the F106 Delta Dart instead of Mach7.5 as you are scoring also based on a real plane.
Seems that you like a heck of a lot of his stuff and he likes yours??
Well I'm first in, the standard I can only expect can rise from now on.
Have a look here: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/5d9D1x/Mach-7-5 Mach3 capable down low, Mach7+ at 70-100k feet, roll is your friend to keep the nose from rising and falling as it doesn't rob speed.
Looks alone get it five stars, well done that man.
Perhaps you should stop rating all your own planes 5stars?
Lots depends on how the SAM hits you, I've had trainer jet survive being clipped for example and other jets being plinked on the cockpit and no chance.
I like it, it's got potential and for that I think you deserve some stars.
@SirGorbachev And there was me with a half built Pucara sitting in my saved planes list, well done for getting in first although it's still not showing as a successor, can I suggest you save the cockpit of this and then paste the rest of your plane onto this one before sharing and you should be listed as a successor.

So I like it, it looks futuristic and goes through 3000mph, just want to point out that's about half the speed mine hits though.
Thanks folks, vertical take off is simple, power up pitch forward and once you are in the air and moving forward slide the vtol forward over the space of a few seconds, works best if you get up some speed before and during the transition as you need the wings to provide lift.
Much as it probably deserves stars giving them to yourself kind of defeats the point of ranking.
To help me find it

Altered the cone and uploaded an alternative, start at an airborne location.
Almost a month since you set this challenge, have you flown them and picked a winner?
