@Planeerf3 Actually I haven't worked on this in a while. I think I'll try some today, but no promises. Clicky Link

I only have one gripe. This thing is so hard to taxi. Also it takes off in wayyyy too little runway.

@MrShenanigans I get back to the USA on January 9, but I have brand new classes on January 10 so no time until the weekend after that (probably).

@MrShenanigans unfortunately I'm away from my good computer right now, I can't run more than 1500 on my laptop. I'm in Bermuda now lol

    @PlaneFlightX that's what I mean too.

  • 767 Update (Almost One Year!) 3.4 years ago

@PlaneFlightX No, I couldn't mind out a way to make all screens use the same text part so I gave up
at least, I found out that the text parts would be about 150 parts, we will see.

One question, are you guys planning on adding an input controller to reaction nozzle RCN? right now it can't be controlled with FT like all the other things can. (also an effect scaling section like we have for engine exhaust)

  • jetBlue A321, NYC Subway and Acela Express etc. (Off topic) 3.4 years ago

@realSavageMan I'm taking an A321 in two days, American A321T actually. Then an A319, and then in early January I'll be flying on an A350, 717, and another A319. Let me know if you need specific pictures of anything for when you build new airliners

Big question: can I use my own computer's computing power for the crafts I see in VR? Does the Oculus use an hdmi from your computer and you computer's CPU and GPU, or does it rely on the headset processing power? I need to run like 5000 parts and need to know if it will work properly. I got a fast computer just for SP and don't want to buy a VR headset and the new SPVR if I can't use high part count airplanes with it.

  • 20,000km range test 3.4 years ago

@ShawnJohn20 Tankers... I forgot those would technically give your plane infinite range.

BTW, I'll definitely be using this map for testing the range of my airliners!
BTW BTW, I made a non xml plane that can travel 119.56 KM on only one percent of fuel- 11,956 KM range on a four seat general aviation twin. This is flying along at 343 knots at 15,000 feet. Imagine sitting in a Baron for almost 19 hours nonstop.

  • McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 3.4 years ago

Alright so because you included my comment I'll make a list of things to fix:

    1. Wheel brakes are very weak
    2. Large gap between slats and engine
    3. Landing gear retracts on the ground
    4. No dampermultiplier on control surfaces
    5. Flaps extend a bit fast
    6. Flap lever in cockpit is on the wrong side, same as the speedbrake lever.
    7. Reverse thrust works in air
    8. Landing gear is weak and bounces a lot on a crosswind landing
    9. VTOL up makes the airplane pitch down
    10. Flap hinges aren't actually attached to the flaps
    11. Tiller turns in midair
    12. Engines don't use any fuel or produce any thrust at idle 0%
    13. Flat bottom wing with no real airfoil (yeah this is a big one)
    14. Landing gear just clips through the wing when retracting
    15. Outboard flaps have some weird curves on them, and all flaps have no airfoils.
    16. No fixed flap positions, the flaps should be in increments of degrees.
    17. Center gear doors clip through center gear on retraction
    18. Center gear doors have a gap when closed

There's a few more but they would take a lot of effort to fix.
    Nice nose shape.

First thoughts- very good model with great styling and good livery detail.

    Pros:
    1. good livery, at a glance it looks great
    2. some doors open
    3. flight dynamics are very good
    4. relatively good cockpit
    5. Lighting is very good, I love that you used the real switches!
    6. Suspension is good, unlike so many other planes with none

    Cons:
    1. Landing gear retracts on the ground (would destroy the airplane)
    2. Cargo door can open in flight (might destroy the airplane).
    3. Reverse thrust works in air (might destroy the airplane).
    4. There are four ailerons, real A306 only has two.
    5. Spoilers don't assist with roll.
    6. Slats don't quite behave properly, they should angle down a bit (and there's a kreuger flap near the root that was missed).
    7. Nose gear is not responsive in turning, makes it hard to taxi.
    8. The airplane is much too light (below empty weight).

Final thoughts- Very good model, but the part count seems a bit high for the number of features that were modeled.

@Sparky6004 You seem to forget that the same damage model is possible when the aircraft is fuselage cut. Just use fuselage cutting to put more than one piece in a ring.
