You are too kind, @AustralianBoi!
I haven't played SP in a very long time.
I was mostly making weird vehicles and very few planes. When I discovered the Automation/Beamng combination I found that it fit me and what I enjoy doing--building weird cars--a bit better. So I have not been around here nor been playing SP since then.
This is probably too big, really, and I need to see if Overload will let me adjust friction.
These things in real life were sized to carry multiple passengers or freight. One real use was, apparently, mail delivery in Siberia. So, not HUGE but, maybe, pick up truck size or a bit bigger?
There also were versions with wheels rather than skis but that seems to have been to make these usable in warmer weather and more of a compromise, so I'm trying to avoid using wheels.
Very early development here, going to keep working at it.
@dawson123 , Thanks! I think I want to tune the suspension a bit--this is currently a bit bouncy so maybe more damper on it. Can just about do "handbrake turns" with it now, though.
@Randomdoggo , Thanks! Yeah, it has been a while. I've been building cars in Automation and driving them in BeamNG. I may have some time this week to play here again.
@Randomdoggo , busy at work and getting my yard in shape for the summer mostly. I have spent a little time starting to learn about making maps for this game. I have a couple ideas for a custom map and, maybe, some challenges for it.
I may have a new car this weekend to post.
Thanks for asking!
@Randomdoggo , thank you! Nice to hear you like the style but I am starting to get a little bored with my ideas lately so will be trying to change my style. :) No idea how yet.
Since I posted my last creation (yesterday as I'm typing this), there are 18 pages of new stuff that would likely be around a dozen pages were all the different add-a-part "creations" not counted...I almost started one of my own with just a sphere as the start. :) But, then I decided to not add to this.
I honestly did enjoy the christmas trees but, yeah, this new spate of them is meh.
@Mineman, Thanks for saying so but I'm not too happy with this for what I was trying to do. Something sort of like the dog in Toy Story. Not for any real reason other than it would look cool, I think. Be a big pain to drive and maybe not too fun if viewed from the cockpit camera but, still.
@LancasterAce Hmm, that's different than what I thought you meant. SO, maybe build that second aircraft and move the whole thing? Not sure if that would work for you or not. I will suggest starting with the other plane's fuselage, moving that part anf then attaching the rest of the plane to that fuselage part just to keep the construction a bit simpler.
@LancasterAce, is something like this what you meant? I used the finetune part of the rotate part menu to adjust the x and y position of the single gun then mirrored it to the other side. you can move a part around by changing those x, y, and z numbers.
@Flyer776676, OK, I reread your original comment and realized I probably missed your point entirely! You are correct, they really are NOT advancing on my airstrip. But they were making mean faces at me as they went by. :)
@Flyer776676 If you're quick enough, you ought to be able to get to them while they're still inside the 10 mile limit for the Clever missle. Might be worth adding an impact camera to the missles to see how well--or not-- your shooting goes.
Not sure why, but when detatched, the little roller goes in reverse when autopilot is engaged. Made it a bit annoying to do a speed run at Wright Airstrip...:) (I generally put each new roller there and hit Autopilot to see what flat out will give for speed over the length of the runway.)
@BlackhattAircraft , AB 2 is in progress now. No huge changes but I do want to alter the cockpit/gun turret set up a bit. Originally envisioned the mini guns as, mainly, anti aircraft weapons but that will require them and the cockpit view to be synced. I think.
@MausTrap1946 Not really, thanks though! Just being a bit contrary today. And,truly hoping my goofball creation is a valley rather than a peak. Surely we can do better? :)
@ASDFASDF1 It is. But I am not referring to the country. Only to the bird. The birds are large--7 to 10 kilos or so--and are a big part of our Thanksgiving celebrations here in the US. Basically a giant sized chicken. In my home, we will usually host about 18 people for our dinner. I cook the bird, stuffing, and some mashed potatoes with gravy. The other folks usually bring other things to go along--vegetables and desserts mostly.
It is a feast. But what I actually like the most is the family and friends that gather around my dining room.
I have since uploading this altered the cockpit area slightly. I removed the rear facing angled corners and replaced them with angled cockpit pieces instead. No functional change but I think it looks better.
@ZHUAREVONI, played around with this a bit before I head to work this morning and, after adding the hinge rotators, it still is just not a great idea...this vehicle is too heavy for a single shock at the top end and once I added enough--3 minimum and 4 were better--it just looked awful. So, for a small/light vehicle this might be ok but I'll need to think about a better geometry or a completely different suspension for this pos. :)
@1gecko , too much drama in the real world that I can't avoid, pretty happy to miss as much as I can in a gaming world.
@1gecko Hows things?
Still caught up in Automation and Astroneer, probably ought to see what I can make in SP now.

@Randomdoggo , hi!
Haven't been around here nor playing SP much, sorry.
Automation and BeamNG are what I've been getting my "build stuff" fix from.
This is probably too big, really, and I need to see if Overload will let me adjust friction.

Good Luck!
+1Plenty of room to add more and deadlier weaponry. IF you think you need to...:)
VERY slow--maxes out at 34 mph. Not sure why.

@Gameboi14: not sure why you didn't get an "auto credit" for this? I used one of your landing gears from your post a few days back.
Yeah, I don't know a way to do that, I'm sorry.
Maybe some one who knows XML modding really well could?

I tweaked this a bit more using Overload and changed the exhaust by setting the scale to 1,1,15 and the exhaust base color to "FE519D".
@robloxweponco The real IIIc I modeled it after does very well. This thing, not so much. :) Plus, the scale is a bit off. XD

Rudolph is a nice detail! :)

This is pretty fun thnkas to @ Starbound and @NathanMikeska and their cool Mods.
Gentlemen, thank you!
@mikoyanster, THANK YOU for this! Very much the clearest tutorial I have read or watched yet.
@BlackhattAircraft , AB 2 is in progress now. No huge changes but I do want to alter the cockpit/gun turret set up a bit. Originally envisioned the mini guns as, mainly, anti aircraft weapons but that will require them and the cockpit view to be synced. I think.
@AchuTMM, Thanks for the suspension!
Demolition derby, any one?😁
@MausTrap1946 Not really, thanks though! Just being a bit contrary today. And,truly hoping my goofball creation is a valley rather than a peak. Surely we can do better? :)
+1@MausTrap1946 , that may be the most depressing comment I'e read in a very long time.(-"-)
@ASDFASDF1 I don't know where every one is from. Sorry if I'm telling you stuff you already know! :)
@ASDFASDF1 It is. But I am not referring to the country. Only to the bird. The birds are large--7 to 10 kilos or so--and are a big part of our Thanksgiving celebrations here in the US. @AchuTMM :)
@AchuTMM I used the built in suspension for the front wheels because I haven't figured out a better looking way to add anything more complicated.
@Mushroom, hope this helps!
@AchuTMM , of course! I'm interested to see what you do with it. :)
And, before anyone asks, yes I am a fan of John Deere...:)
You're welcome!
This one actually does pretty well in the various races. Would do much better if the AI didn't treat the throttle as an on-off switch, though!
@Kerbango A bit more elegant than my glorified truck! Pretty cool.
+1weird, maybe, but why is is so happy, then?
+1I have since uploading this altered the cockpit area slightly. I removed the rear facing angled corners and replaced them with angled cockpit pieces instead. No functional change but I think it looks better.
@AchuTMM It did surprise me that it was not too "explody" with all the fuel in it! :)
@ZHUAREVONI, played around with this a bit before I head to work this morning and, after adding the hinge rotators, it still is just not a great idea...this vehicle is too heavy for a single shock at the top end and once I added enough--3 minimum and 4 were better--it just looked awful. +1@ZHUAREVONI thank you!
+1@randomusername Well, intended to be goofy fun. But I only briefly considered painting it green and yellow, though. :)
+1@AchuTMM see the successor to this for and adjusted suspension. :)
Thanks to @AchuTMM for the sugestion!
