Honestly, I don't know what to tell you. I tried the smaller ailerons and the plane still fails. I did notice that you have a lot of extra fuel in the wings. Also, the engine may just be too fast. It is hard to describe exactly what the AI is doing, because it doesn't make a lot of sense. My advice is, somehow, make it slower. For this race, focus on control more than speed since you can't make the iterative changes and tests. Also, I can't keep testing it anymore, because mine isn't working right yet either. Don't mean to be rude, just putting it plainly. Good luck.
I ran it three times and it finished in 27 seconds, then crashed, then finished in 26 seconds. Both times it finished it did miss a couple rings. While heading back towards the ground it starts spiraling crazily and soon starts missing rings. Sometimes it recovers and finishes, but sometimes it hits the ground. The problem is that it isn't centered perfectly in the column of rings, so it keeps trying to adjust by rolling. If the AI would just fly a little more sensibly this would probably work fine. I think you may have to slow it down so the AI has more time to make the adjustments.
For the record, anything I've made that goes that fast has the same problems.
@Champ9961 It still falls off vertical, but recovers more quickly. It now completes the course in about 48 to 50 seconds, but one one of the three runs I did it missed three rings. The main reason you are having trouble at the start is probably that your design is not symmetrical from top to bottom.
@Jetspeed1001 When setting up the race you can check a box to have the computer fly it.
I tested your plane. It does very poorly at the start, tipping far off the vertical before recovering. It barely makes the first ring before 20 seconds. Otherwise it seems to complete the course without missing any rings. Takes about 1:04 to finish. As a note, this course does not require landing gear, which may be contributing to your poor start.
I find it interesting that nobody has noticed the asymetry of the control surface on the canards. In testing I found that it made little difference to how the A.I. performed, but I thought it gave the plane a little character. Makes manual piloting difficult though.

It starts well, stays vertical, but it loses control at the part where it starts heading back down and crashes every time I tried it.

Thanks. I just have to hope I don't crash out. From testing, i have about a 7.2 percent chance to crash two of three.
