It would be so great if the devs could add damage
to planes in the next update so if a planes is shot , it will catch fire and drain fuel from that part which then results in that part falling off .
This would add a more realistic and cool feel to being shot down in a dogfight or S.A.M minigame , speaking of missiles if shot with a missile your planes will explode as normal but the remaining parts will catch fire too
Those are my thoughts on what should be in the next update, i hope that the devs will implement this into the game. Your thoughts? Leave a comment and upvote down in the comments not to help me but to get this noticed :)
We need Mr. Garrison to take a look at this.
@Davidf9 thanks!
@tophatguy your best bet is to increase to proximityDetonationRangeMin to find the sweetspot where the missile does damage rather than completely destroying the aircraft or not even scratching it.
Ik this is old, but is it possible to lower the damage a missile does to a plane?
Ok@EarthSpaceDefence
no i just have important matters to attend to @TheDoodleBanger
R u dead or something?@EarthSpaceDefence
They need to add control surface damage and loss also!
and also @KingDeadshot Maybe the computer version could be more advanced which I know is kind of unfair but it is like that in other games
I also thinks the weapon variety should be bigger for example 30cal 50cal 20mm 30mm guns, heat seeking and radar guided missiles, flares and chaff, laser guided bombs, retarded bombs, 500lb bombs ,250lb, 100lb bombs and so on
I said basically the same thing here https://www.simpleplanes.com/Forums/View/399602/Request
@KingDeadshot
Love the idea, although I'd think it'd be a case of have that durability phase where you have several bullet holes and structure frame that show when shot, and the 1/5 chance of a bullet igniting the fuel in the part of the plane/tank, and that with realistic damage added, if you get shot you have the chance of your control surfaces getting locked up with damage to it, and then if your fuselage gets shot the durability depletes until that piece just falls off and with that goes precious fuel or even your whole tail or wing or cockpit or engine.
@AndrewGarrison
@Sunnyskies Also, the way pylons work irks me. Missiles shouldn't pop off they do. Most are fixed to a rail, and slide off straight. This image is a good visual.
I think missiles should work more like they do in real life. They're not so much explosive weapons as they are directed shrapnel weapons. The sidewinder (the Guardian's inspiration) is a continuous rod weapon. Those basically unfold a cylinder of steel rods at extremely high velocity, shredding anything it hits. And the AIM-120 (the Interceptor's inspiration) uses a fragmentation charge designed to pelt the target with countless high velocity projectiles. AIM-9s are detonated with IR proximity fuzes, and AIM-120s are detonated with RADAR TDDs, and neither need direct hits to kill.
@EarthSpaceDefence I always love watching things get damaged, I don't know why but I just do!
@EarthSpaceDefence ok, I will @@DisferGoatz @Mikukat
@AndrewGarrison
How cool would this be man spread the idea @though
Wow, I really love this idea
