*LK Plane Spotting is the name of my Google Photos album
I have just migrated my entire photo album to a new google account, so to "celebrate" that I have decided to present you my picks of what I believe are the best pictures I've taken, in a hope that it will lure in new followers because I am starting anew.
I am in no way a professional, and I do not claim that the pictures are inherently good, but given my current options they are the best I can do :)
The picture that prompted the creation of the album:
My position makes it very rare to see any Lufthansa planes, so the only decent Lufthansa pic I got was during a school trip to Auschwitz:
One of two C-5s in the album:
My first picture of a Moon transit. I was lucky that it was an A380:
A bomber and a not-bomber:
My first ever encounter with a KC-135. It was pretty high up and I was not at all prepared:
Normally, all Korean Air planes from Seoul to Prague take a northern route over Russia, so I never see them, but in this rare, one-off case the plane flew from South Korea over the Middle East and entered the Czech Republic from the south-east, which took it right over my head, making it the first (non-cruising) 777 I ever photographed:
A picture taken couple minutes before I myself took flight in the Echo:
I took my camera to a relative's wedding which took place under the ascend path from Prague Airport, and I was presented with this beautiful sight:
A slovak 747 owned by Air Cargo Global. There was a time period when the Prague Airport was full of them, but nowadays they are spread all over the world, so I pretty much never see one:
A Czech Airlines A320 closeup I took while on a trip to the Prague Airport for the first time. I stood right under the path they took to land:
A rather grainy A380. I took this picture because the airport bus in front of the superjumbo puts its massive size into perspective:
The second day of the trip I re-positioned myself so I also could take pics of planes taking off:
A picture my friend took. His dad works at a facility that handles planes like this:
Airbus A330F descending through the clouds:
A Turkish government helicopter which casually ventured over our backyard:
China Airlines Cargo 747 delivering crap that I ordered from Wish:
Etihad racing Emirates:
A380 right after it finished banking towards me:
Emirates 777:
And finally, an A380 with only a single contrail:
All the pictures and much, much more can be found in the gallery. If you like it, you can follow it with your Google account so you get updates when I upload new pictures to it.
Thank you for the previous support I got on the old account. I hope that at least some people will stick around with the new one as well.
Good night.
@AWESOMENESS360 maybe, just careful not to exceed maximum allowed speed
@marcox43 omg, so if the time is right, passenger jets can actually race each other? Lmao
@AWESOMENESS360 depending on the flight distance, if it is short, it shouldn't matter much, as the plane needs to arrive withing a maximun weight, otherwise, it's landing gear will collapse, so a bit of racing shouldn't be that bad in terms of fuel dumping(yes, airlines do dump fuel mid flight if they notice they will arrive with overweight)
@marcox43 there's actually this video that I've always thought of as the funniest moment in commercial airline history. So basically this pilot is flying a passenger jet, and he starts recording another passenger jet that's in view from the cockpit with his phone, and he literally says into the mic, or whatever the pilot uses to communicate with the passengers, "Ladies and Gentleman, this is your captain speaking, if you look to the right side of the aircraft you'll notice Flight 19-A challenging us to a race, I'll turn the fasten seatbelt sign back on because shit is about to get real!" I wonder if they actually ended up racing to the airport, that probably isn't allowed, and can be potentially dangerous, but in today's world, you can kinda get away with more things, though I doubt that that applies to something like this, XD
link to the video
the racing emirates made my day xd
@GeneralOliverVonBismarck Actually, yes. That's what got me interested into aviation, I wanted to know what kind of plane it was after it flew over my town
The p900 is available here for $467USD or $679NZD which is a fine price I think
!Lonk
@DerekSP Maybe try the p900?
@DuckMint yes they are, the go for the same price as an iPhoneX around here. Still way over my current budget, but I hope someday...
@DerekSP They're relatively cheap compared to other caneras though. It only shoots 24mp compared to flashy 40+mp
Fantastic shots btw
@DuckMint I am looking for some good second-hand ones, for example I got the L820 for a bargain because the previous owner broke the battery hinge. Nikon would charge a lot of money for the repair, but I repaired it myself and now its working like new
@DuckMint ye I know, the P1000 would be the single most expensive thing I buy, even over my car
@DerekSP Dooo it bro, the lens will be more expensive though, my 50mm one cost $1200 😨 and that's without zoom.
I have a Nikon DH80 if I remember correctly :/
@Strikefighter04 @DuckMint Nikon L820, but I'm aiming for that P1000 boi
Lol cool!@Potato21
I stay near camp lejeune every year, once me and my dad we’re in the marsh, and no joke, marine one passes by and lands behind the trees, at cherry point I think. @Chancey21
interesting... ive never seen a 747, much less any other big planes on that list...
What camera do you have???
