The Alper
Hello, thanks for clicking, hope you enjoy the plane!
And big thanks to ThomasRoderick for helping with the design phase of this!
ABOUT
The Alper is made from the ground up to be a plane for VIP's or business travels. It focuses on being the most comfortable possible mean of travel between point A to point B.
Top Speed : 350 Knots
Takeoff speed : 112 Knots
Landing speed : 120-130 knots
Controls
- Pitch - Self explanatory
- Throttle : Self explanatory
- Roll : Self explanatory
- VTOL : Flap controls
- Trim : Self explanatory
- AG 7 To open the cabin doors
Given below are the interactable controls and explanation for each.
Here, you see the start-up related interactables. You don't need to do actually do anything because they are already on by default.
In order to turn it off...
- Turn of the Engine power switches (Labelled for the left and right engine)
- Turn of the fuel pump
- Turn of the generator
- Turn off the Beacon lights
- To turn it on again, follow those steps in reverse order.
These are just the light toggles.
- Strobe lights activate high intensity blinking lights like you'd see on real stuff
- Navigation or position lights are a set of 3 lights that help determine position turn these on during or after take-off procedures. Turn them off on taxi.
- Taxi lights are not always needed but majority of the time these are used. when to turn them on is self explanatory,
That is all the main stuff you need to know
Additional details
I mean... Do I have to even say anything more? Those sceenshots don't even have all the additional details that I put in, for example, the Flap type I chose to make... or the way I managed to pull of a system where you don't have to do anything; Just download and go. Heck, the spinners on the Prop actually spin... It's not a detail someone would immediately notice. This grew way out of it's expected complexity. More on that later.

About my Experience
You know how you normally expect to make a really simple thing but end up adding ambition to it and blowing it out of proportion for what it is? That is exactly what happened here. During some trying times IRL, I managed to crunch a lot of work into this. It's taken 80 hours off m life now, I didn't think it'd cross 20. It's crazy how fast it became so much more than just an Alper remaster. I guess I should thank simpleplanes and it's community AGAIN for helping with escapism, but now, like I've said before, knowing that this thing is off my mind and it's near perfectly what I wanted it to be, I'll be off to face some things IRL. Don't worry, nothing too major, I'll be fine... Even mentioning it here feels like bait.. My bad for that. But thanks, again, for being here. I hope to continue posting stuff like this, it was very fun to the in the end! (Exceptt the landing gear. GODDDD the landing gear sucked to do.)
I once again Silently ask that you check out the best craft I've ever made... A scifi plane. Check It out with yet another blummin link

ARGHHHHHHHHH frick it early post for everyone even though it's late as heck. All tags are from teasers (Which I'll be deleting soon)
I can agree with the out of proportion…
tried making a sub 500 part A330, currently at 925 parts before livery and interior ☠️
@Noname918181818181818181 it's a common theme with me. I want to force wierd designs but make them work in IRL ways. It's unfortunately why Thomas has his work cut out disciplining me 💀
But thank you!
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense for only the original one to have the stepped aft. It was a cheap plane, but a nice one. I guess that could be the design trademark for the alper, because even with the changes I made to the updated one after taking criticism on this still has a bit of an odd stepped rear.
Very nice plane.
,
I actually kinda dig the weird looking stepped rear thing because I have a soft spot for weird designs, idk. Plus it harkens back to that original plane, really showing that despite the changes, its in essence, the same plane
@Pnut thank you!
Love the interiors! Also the plane turns pretty well for a passenger plane, well done.
@zerkk LoL, that moment when you run out of spotlights for a day so you keep an eye for hours for the count tro reset
Thanks for that, btw!
@GalaxiesDontSlleep yeah, i do.
@YarisSedan I believe it was you who wanted the non luxury regional seater, no?
@CatBird Thank you!
@dabestsock xD I don't necessarily intend to, but thanks for the kind wishes!
@TheMouse thank you man! Appreciate it!
@ThomasRoderick You come up with an excuse for it because I have no practical reason to give you other than "I wanted to keep that design from the original"
And no, this isn't the final alper like I've told you like 10 times and yes, I will make a more realistic one that can actually fly IRL.
@Boeing727200F my bad. I went to sleep xD
this is just beautiful
Oh wait, you already posted, my mistake lol.
Awesome plane!
@GalaxiesDontSlleep hope you pass me in points soon
@hpgbproductions Pretty sure only the P-3 Orion had a stepped tail - and even then the "stepped" part is added way aft of the fins.
why wasn't i tagged?
@GalaxiesDontSlleep
What function, exactly, does the stepped tail serve? At least for your twin-boom SSTOs it was for the internal space needed for both atmospheric high-performance low-bypass turbofans and rocket engines, a stepped tail design like this serves no tangible benefit especially for a civilian aircraft.
@Solent19 ah. I see. I'll see if I can correct it or something.
I placed it far back because I do want the pilot to actually put their legs somewhere... So...
@GalaxiesDontSlleep honestly that drag thing sounds more sensible than my "just disable drag on all the parts you can until it flies how it's supposed to"-method
with the "cockpit camera" i meant the actual pilot's view, that's really far back
@Solent19 trust me when I say I tried absolutely everything I could with the drag here. I XML modded basically the entirety of this thing thing. Put it simply, the only workable alternative is just use a single block to simulate the overall drag coeff. I didn't do that or try to go too low with dragScale numbers because I still wanted some semblance of ... You know... Simulation.
But I hear you, and I will work to improve that aspect. As for the stick, that's mostly a practical decision. I originally wanted a yolk, but space very quickly became a valuable possesion. Hence why I went with this
The cockpit camera... Shoot I was supposed to disable it. That is fully on me... My bad on that!
on a personal note i hate sticks like that but that's a me-problem
