XV-115 Pogo (RC Plane Mock Up)

120k ACEPILOT109  3.9 years ago

This is what I used to create this RC plane

using SP like cad is not a bad Idea, I have done it other times, like with my PT-109 stearby But this is the most recent. This, as you can tell is a VTOL tail sitter design, and is my first intentional VTOL design. Although in real life if fly's, weird, you can have my prototype I made here on SP, although low on detail it was just a mock up.

Controls
Activation Group - 8 :Gyro to allow VTOL
Normal flight controls, no rudder.

The Real Thing
If your interested in the VTOL, click me to view my YouTube page where I post my aviation content.

To answer FAQs, yes I built this myself, it is made out of foam board, and yes, it flew like poop!!

If you want to see more stuff like this subskrib please! I really want to grow my channel to allow more aviation content to be on the internet, and inspire people like they inspired me, ha life goals are cool.

Thank you to all the people who Upvote, Comment, or Follow.

If you see the video, the way I dealt with it was to just nail full power and hope I get enough relative airspeed over the surface to stop the rolling, I may make a V2 with two props (counter rotating) @AerialAerialTheSnake

I kinda thought a Convair Pogo would be a cool rc plane.

Cool build. Btw how did you deal with the torque effect of the propeller while taking off?
