Big Nauti V1.0
Description
This sailing vessel has sails that actually work, and its fully capable of sailing into the wind! Its also equipped with retractable square rigged sails to give you a boost going downwind. You might need some background knowledge of sailing to use this, or if your struggling you can ask me in the comments!
Important info
You will need some very basic info on how to sail, and if your struggling, like I said, ask in the comments. Or if you just want to drive this thing around without the hassle to sail it I put a functional engine on it.
This boat sails best in 30mph winds with no gusts
The square rigged sails only work downwind so keep that in mind
And if you realize your drifting to the side a lot then all you need to do is let the sails out a bit.
Also ignore camera 3 and cockpit view, I kinda forgot to move them
Controls
Roll: to steer
Vtol: Trim main sails (triangle sails)
Trim: Trim square rigged sails
Gear: lower/raise square rigged sails
AG1: engine (for if you want a boost or don't feel like sailing)

That’s an amazing coincidence, since those are the same boats that I race! It’s always cool when you meet people who also enjoy sailing. @DeezDucks btw this is like the first thing I’ve said on this website for over a year 😂
really really nice, it's almost perfect
Can i build an fighting vesssel out of it like an old pirate schip just to know
As a sailor I can appreciate this
Ooooooo
Every once in a while it seems to get hung up almost like I've hit an invisible rock? Still fun and great looking ship though.
Bro that's a cool boat
This will be a great target practice for my submarine
Make the life boat work
I'm 13 and I don't have basic knowledge on how to sail but hopefully this build might inspire me to sail in real life.
@YamatoAirlines search up an image of "points of sail" it may help you with sail trim for different angles of the boat and the wind.
@YamatoAirlines Sails are kind of like big wings, air rushing over them creates "lift". If you're wanting to sail into the wind (Closed Hauled/Reach) or perpendicular to it (Beam Reach), You're gonna want to trim the sails so that they present a smaller profile to the oncoming wind but not razer thin or you lose speed.
I'm not quite sure how sails work in SP but this ship replicates a lot of the irl characteristics pretty well. If you're going directly downwind you let out the sails all the way so it shows the most surface area.
I used to sail 420's and Lasers and I must say this is excellent, probably one of the best sailboats I've played around with :)
As you may wonder, I’m suffering with sailing. Can you please give me some advices where can I read more about how to do it right?
Nauti boat
@DrTaco indeed
@Concordo we can feature a build with zero upvotes. We feature according to quality and our liking of the build, not its popularity.
