- Enter the game and switch to Auto Camera.
- Click the "Auto Timing" red button in the center of the clock to start the game. (Ignore it if you want to use the chess clock manually.)

Some Tips
- It is highly recommended to use Auto Camera.
- If you are on PC, press space bar to switch sides quickly. You can also click the inner board edge to switch sides.
- Don't panic if you misclick, just press AG2 or click the undo button in the options bar.
- Edit mode also pauses the game. You can do whatever you want in edit mode, no rules! You can also press AG5 to disable moving rules.
- If you don't want auto camera's rotation, you can use the lock camera option (in the options bar or press AG7) to lock it on your preferred side. You can also change the second value in the variable setter (AutoRotate) to switch it off for good.
- Due to performance limitations, the score sheet does not record detailed steps, but you can still see how many moves you have made.
- The pen animation is annoying you? Press AG6 to disable it!
- When you start the game, the clock is set for a 10-minute match by default. You can change this by editing the first value in variable setters.
- If you are under attack, stay calm. The table is equipped with flare dispensers.

Change Log v1.1 [23-01-2025]
Absolutely mind blowing to turn an airplane game into a chess game, let alone all the incredible details like the auto camera and even an animated pencil! The community never ceases to amaze me with what’s possible. Fantastic job!
Theoretically, we could integrate AI into this build. Here's my idea:
Develop a standalone program that uses visual recognition as input to analyze the board. The input would then be sent to a chess engine like Stockfish for decision-making.
For output, the program could control the mouse to move and click the pieces accordingly.
However, this is currently beyond my ability. It would be fantastic if someone with the skills and interests could create a program like this!
@AndrewGarrison could you make it work with a different software
This is a great job
en passant?
@AnitaMaxWynn Oh, I feel you! And I am really glad that you enjoy playing this!!
Maybe next time u will see someone make a Tetris and the a jumping dino
this is crazy, chess in simpleplanes
hello, @whills.
exactly a year ago, I had an idea to implement chess into SP with text variables and in-game buttons. With help from game devs, I added move after move after move of each piece for three months. I faced problems and barely fixed it. It was until the 3rd week of may that i stopped all of my sh*t because a friend of mine simply said "isn't there endless moves in chess?".
and somehow you managed to make my dream come true. this piece truly means alot to me. i shed a tear playing w this piece of your's. thank you so much, god bless @whills.
edit: it felt like i'm on a horse holding a lantern when i spread the word that someone had finally done it lol
BRO IT'S A FLIGHT SIMULATOR WTH LOLLL
