This is very neat, it is odd that no one rated it.

  • Curtiss wright p40 warhawk 9.7 years ago

Of the countless WWII fighters on here, this is the only Warhawk I've seen. Always been a favorite, and I think you did a fine job of it!

    @Gibbieson @nathanmikeska @Thebrendon55c @Wakescar Thank you all!

  • With Crazy Pitching 9.7 years ago

    Nice!

  • overcraft 2.0.1 9.7 years ago

    Neat

  • Skydiving Rover 9.7 years ago

    @Prescott thanks, I appreciate that

  • Skydiving Rover 9.7 years ago

I worked on this for quite a while, but I'm not totally happy with how it turned out. I like this concept a lot, but I can't make it much better or fancier without causing lots of lag on my old device. If someone with a better device wants to make a bigger/badder/cooler vehicle like this, I'd love to see it!

  • Mach 4 at 35,000ft. 9.7 years ago

@AustinOwen I like the paint job. I assume you are editing the XML to get that engine performance, right?

  • "Golden Dragon" - Top Performance Aircraft 9.7 years ago

    @TwinStarIndustries Thank you!

  • Blast 9.7 years ago

She is indeed a good plane. And, it can do post-stall maneuvers pretty easily, which is fun.

  • exile 1 b 9.7 years ago

    This is great!

  • Simple Ground Attack Fighter 9.7 years ago

    I like it!

  • 400mp/h + 9.7 years ago

Fun! Don't try to turn at high speed.

  • Over 9000 !!!!! 9.7 years ago

I didn't even download this and I never watched DBZ, but I know the reference and I appreciate it.

  • "Maverick" - Super Swing Wing 9.7 years ago

Sorry @hypnotoad can't seem to spell that right

  • EIG-37 Delta-Edge Battle Ver. (1100mph) 9.7 years ago

Very cool! Am I right in thinking that you had to edit the XML for this?

  • Jet craft 9.7 years ago

I don't know how people keep finding this plane (maybe you saved it?) but it makes me smile to see someone repost my plane over 2 months after I first uploaded it. So, thank you! :)

  • "Maverick" - Super Swing Wing 9.7 years ago

@hyponotoad Thank you! You always seem like a really nice guy, I appreciate all of your kindness toward me and others on here.

  • "Maverick" - Super Swing Wing 9.7 years ago

@Ambarveis thank you. There are other examples that are probably better, see @Authros most recent F-14 or @Katrina Panavia Tornado.

  • Sam Evader II 9.7 years ago

Very nice! I've noticed that the update changed the way that yaw is mirrored, and I think that this has caused your yaw controls to work improperly on this plane. As I said, very nice, though!

  • "Drifter" v2 : Fast, Agile Jet 9.7 years ago

@capncurt86 not a fan of powder blue? :) I just think that there are way too many gray and black planes on here, so most of my planes are pretty colorful. Go ahead and change it if you'd like, and thanks for your kind rating.

  • P-51D Mustang! 9.8 years ago

    Looks good :)

  • SR-71 Blackbird Remake 9.8 years ago

@Zing2000 I just saw your comment on my old plane from a few days ago (haven't been checking). People seem to like your planes a lot, don't worry so much! I think this one is a little too big to try on my device, but it looks quite nice. Anyway, as long as you're having fun, no need to worry about whether or not other people like your planes. I often find that my favorites that I make do poorly on here, while the ones I care less about do well. Such is life! :)

  • Concept Fighter 9.8 years ago

Really, really, great, I like it almost as much as my own planes, which doesn't happen often because I am rather biased :) I think you should know that you can modify the control surfaces in the vertical stabilizers so that they respond to pitch instead of yaw; that way, you don't have to hold down both while turning. I did that after I downloaded this and it works wonderfully.

  • F-357 Blackbird MKII 9.8 years ago

@thelonewolf427 Glad to hear it! Keep having fun :)

  • stable spikey 9.8 years ago

@ hypnotized Thanks, very kind of you to say that. Same to you

  • F-357 Blackbird MKII 9.8 years ago

@thelonewolf427 This is a nice plane. My advice to you, if you care to hear it, would be that you could easily make your planes much more maneuverable if you put the COM and COL much closer together. You could look at some of my planes for examples; my most recent one, "Drifter", is a good example of this. Or, if you don't want to bother with that, you could just believe me and try it out for yourself.

  • stable spikey 9.8 years ago

@hypnotoad thanks, glad you liked this one

  • The Triton 9.8 years ago

Surprised to see someone reposting this well over a month after I first uploaded it. :) @timeisimaginary if you like the plane, the original (predecessor) doesn't have that pitching problem, though I actually like this color scheme better. I've made a bunch of planes similar to this, some of which are objectively better, but for whatever reason, this one was by far the most downloaded/reposted.

  • "Pioneer" - Extreme Altitude & Speed 9.8 years ago

@kellyJ thanks for looking at it and at least pretending to like it.

  • The blue whale 9.8 years ago

    Fun

  • Big Blue Beast 9.8 years ago

Fun and different, and besides pitching up a bit, flies surprisingly well.

  • F/A 37 Talon II 9.8 years ago

Never saw the movie, but this looks nice and flies very well.

  • Candair cf116 / f5 9.8 years ago

Can't speak to accuracy, but it looks nice and flies nicer.

  • "BrightSky" - High Performance 9.8 years ago

@kellyJ thanks again. If you're interested in a very different approach to the drag vs thrust issue, I would ask you to look at one of my least popular planes, "Pioneer". It weighs less than 6000 lbs has only one medium engine, but also has an abundance of intakes, which allows it go 1380 mph level at about 65k ft, and climb to over 130k ft. It's still many favorite plane, but no one else seemed to like it, so I never bothered to upload the updated versions I made.

  • "Drifter" 9.8 years ago

@Authros Thanks. And that was my guess, but I'd rather not presume and offend someone.

  • XF-128 [Prototype Jet] 9.8 years ago

I like the look very much and it flies well. The nose dips down a little more quickly than I would like when trying to fly level. I didn't look too closely at this plane, but things like that can usually be fixed by changing up wing types (semi-symmetric gives more lift than symmetric when flying level).

  • PAK FA Prototype v.2 9.8 years ago

As you said, a bit unstable, but I liked it nevertheless.

  • Delta flighter 9.8 years ago

When I tried it, there seemed to be a couple of nonessential parts that fell off every time the plane loaded. Once I deleted those, I liked it very much.

  • "Drifter" 9.8 years ago

Credit to @Authros for the idea for the yaw design, which was featured on one of his/her planes. He/she also commented on this plane's predecessor and suggested adding yaw, so I did in this plane using his/her design. Thanks a lot!

  • Pond Racer 9.8 years ago

@flightguy I believe you misread the title, it says "pond", not "pod". This is a replica of a plane from the early '90s, not the StarWars racing vehicle. With that in mind, it would be kind of you to change your rating.

  • Anvil Aerospace Gladiator 9.8 years ago

No idea what franchise this is from, but it looks great and flies very well, too.

  • P-38 Lightning MK3 Repaint 9.8 years ago

Thanks for your comments on my plane, glad you liked it. I like this P-38, and that white knight plane is nice, too.

  • "BrightSky" - High Performance 9.8 years ago

@kellyJ you're right, I've made faster ones with anywhere from 3-6 engines. This one would be faster without the fuselage wings and with an intake instead of the nosecone. Could also pitch quicker. But, I like the look, so it stayed this way. Thanks for your comment!

  • "BrightSky" - High Performance 9.8 years ago

@Zing2000 Thanks, that's very kind of you, but I'm not sure that I deserve such confidence. You might as well try it first, you might not like it after all! :)

  • Flying Tube 9.8 years ago

Fun. I noticed that the little plane inside detaches if you use detacher 1; it would be cool if it was designed such that you could detach the tube and continue flying without it.

  • "Pioneer" - Extreme Altitude & Speed 9.8 years ago

BoggartBob, I'm sure that your plane goes much faster and higher than this one. The thing that I like about my plane is that it is much, much simpler than planes like yours and doesn't use the detacher glitch (which can be very fun, but for me it takes the sport out of making a fast plane; it's too easy).

  • UN-1 Fairyland (M4) 9.8 years ago

Handles nicely and has a nice look, too.

  • WhiteDragonsky Thailand 9.8 years ago

I downloaded this because it looked cool and was surprised when I noticed that the wings came from my "X-Treme". I'm glad you reused that plane's parts, this is cool.

  • The Sphinx 9.9 years ago

I like this, it reminds me of my planes. If you don't like the upward pitch, you could simply make every wing symmetric instead of having a mix of types, and then it would probably pitch slightly downward instead.
