@APlainPlaned in Xml add a variable named maxRpm. Im not sure exactly what the defaults are (around 2-2500 I believe) but it increases the speed at which the prop turns, whereas power just increases the engines ability to turn the prop. There is a limit, on the higher end it can cause some wonky things to happen with the propeller but you can pretty easily squeeze a significant amount of speed out of even a basic prop engine with it.
@Hiimakeplanes yeah it is a bit one the slower side of things. I forgot to adjust the engine power a bit to account for drag once I added cosmetic parts to it
@MitchellAviation I may enter my current build, however, as I said, its pretty realistic and I do not believe it would stand up well against the ares. But, there is a whole month to start a new creation afterward so who knows
@MitchellAviation Thats unfortunate, as I said I am going for realistic and detailed. I may just not enter it in the challenge and have it its own thing, because its looking rather beautiful so far. As a sidenote, do you know any xml to reduce fuel consumption of an engine? Or perhaps a source stating how much fuel a neuiport 17, or any ww1 fighter carried? Been searching for a while and cant find anything
Ive made significant progress on a very realistically handling/designed ww1 plane and Im beginning to think perhaps realistic is mot the way to go on this challenge? Ares is a rather capable aircraft, not to mention the guns that vomit bullets lol
Welp my idiot self thoroughly tested everything except the gunsight which is pointed to the right instead of straight... It is located in the fume extractor (bulge on the barrel) and should be easy to fix yourself. R.I.P.
So I think I might finish this build after all
@YoMAma123 fuselages
@APlainPlaned the problem is that the propeller pitch is locked at 30%. Turn off fixed pitch and it will be fast .
+1@APlainPlaned did you increase power as well? High rpm requires high power to reach
@APlainPlaned 5-10 mph? You can add alot of zeros before it gets buggy, and usually then the prop just explodes. What rpm did you set it too?
@The26thMeowng 👀 it is a very low powered one, but a 152mm all the same
+1Engines on rotators
@Hiimakeplanes eh I feel like it takes down the qaulity of a build. It affects the flight physics, so it wont fly like a prop anymore.

+1Holy shit, this is super cool
+1Very interesting craft!
Maybe
+2@sam1333 he’s back!
+2@MitchellAviation thanks!
T
So I cant make it so the side of the box opens up to reveal a badass sound system?
DaddyD? 🤨🤨🤨
Nice

@Hiimakeplanes I went for a more realistic speed rather than making it fly at mach jesus dlr the challenge
@Circularparty0 yes, they are cool
+1https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/zEHQ9X/AeroSport-Python-Realistic-Guns
This version has more realistic guns, the challenge ones are rather potent, to say the least.
@Graingy Mfw when a tank is destroyed by a weapon made to destroy tanks: 😵
Can I edit the scale of the machine guns?
@Hiimakeplanes "The only guns allowed are included in the post" I guess it could be interpreted how you did, I asked because I wasnt sure.
+1It looks like something off of star wars, I forgot what its called

@Hiimakeplanes only supposed to use the 2 machine guns provided, no more, and no bombs or anything
+1Ive made significant progress on a very realistically handling/designed ww1 plane and Im beginning to think perhaps realistic is mot the way to go on this challenge? Ares is a rather capable aircraft, not to mention the guns that vomit bullets lol
+1Can I ONLY put the 2 guns on it or can I put more?
+1No rules? Not even that it has to be flyable?
Happy Birthday sire
+1@WinsWings Thank you, this is my first true attempt at a detailed cockpit, and Im quite happy with how it turned out
+1A lovely build to bring you back into the game
+1@Gadyyyy
@WinsWings
Lovely build! If you use the fine tuner you can work the wings into the fuselage a bit so there isnt a gap
@Bananaisland11 thanks!
My god that AA
+1If it begins to skid sideways while landing let up on the brakes.
Fabulous... If only it wouldnt fry my phone if I tried to download it

@X99STRIKER
-1 performance cost?
Smexy plane
Now you must build a HIMARS using a 1992 Toyota Hilux as the base
+1So it has to be a fighter? No bombers or helis or something?
+1Long time no see, what a build to come back with, very ncie
+3What is its top speed?
