@ThereIsNoahScape that is a great idea i hope it gets implemented, i don't understand why the spin needs to be limited in the first place... is it to prevent planes from spinning too fast?
@VolcanicAsh yes you can mod the rotators to spin endlessly but it's active. If it is set to free spin, there's a limit to how fast you can spin.
There used to be a mod that unlocked the passive, free spin of a rotator. https://www.simpleplanes.com/Mods/View/621180/LimitlessSpin
I had a craft that was fully reliant on this mod to function (since it used autogyro mechanics and not aircraft speed to stay in the air) but now it's barely working https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/4i6wRN/Foyara (promotion not intended)
@Tommy5939 no, the autorotation mechanic is of course a real life phenomenon, but the way the rotor 'autorotation' works is that it spins if the rotor 'falls', even if the rotors are in negative pitch, which ends up propelling the craft. I wonder how dear devs are going to patch this up.
@CenturiVonKikie Ah, no, it's just I have my own preferences, sorry for being rude.
Also, I have some mod installed that might have interfered with its usual functionality. I think it might be because of the unlimited spin mod being active that it explodes on full throttle.
If there's anything I would change, I'll tone down the rotor speed a bit and lessen the pitch range of the rotors. But really, this heli is really well done.
@randomusername does that one use rotators? Well a swashplate definitely is hard to implement...
Anyways, I'm looking for swashplate helis because it feels more helicopterish, and the thought of being able to watch the rotors cyclically tilt in midair is just super cool... so yah, that's what I'm looking for.
@elmong it uses the shape of the wing + flat bottom to spin it as the air goes up the wings/rotors. A spinning wing is as good as a wing, producing lift AFAIK.
The spinning wings are only ever good for slow descent. Don't expect it to power you through flight.
@Aarons123 and "slowly" well, I still couldn't get the props to spin as fast as I want it to be, but it should still make a difference, especially during unpowered glide, the propellers spin way faster (idk why either lmao)
@Aarons123 it does, the faster it spins, the more lift it provides. Granted, it's not great at translating forward velocity into the rotors, but it's there (tested with unmoving rotors vs moving rotors). My next attempt would be making the rotors provide more lift, since at this stage, it only mostly looks nice.

@WNP78 that is very unfortunate.. thanks for replying.
@WNP78 can we have this mod back? checking in every few months or so... just in case it does..
please update >~<
+2Hahah! Happy Cirno day!
+3@V :(
@Diver it works but the speed of the spin is limited. it cannot spin very fast in free spin.
I used to use the limitlessspin mod, it was nice.

@VolcanicAsh limitless free unpowered spin, actually! like the mod limitlessspin, i have no idea why this is never implemented
will the new update have limitless spin?
this is amazing... i just saw the trailer...
will this mod ever be updated?
+1Please unlock the rotator's spinning speed limit. Why does the rotator has a speed limit???
+1@TrislandianAlliance unlimited spin, not fast spin. It isn't the same anymore.
@asteroidbook345 throttling still can't increase spin speed
@asteroidbook345 I don't understand, what do you mean?
Can you update this mod??
I can't hover this plane anymore sad face https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/4i6wRN/Foyara
Super super pretty
Me
@blackvultureaeroespace I just wanted a simple plane with adjustable AoA, not maneuverability lol
@Rawhide thank you
Adorable
BLESSED HAHAHAHA
Welcome to the community!
Be sure to have fun
O, the truly coded one, the one bathed in hellfire, the language of the lightnings, the soul of metal, truly blessed is thy name.

So if you make a pusher prop aircraft with heli rotors... You won't need fuel to fly.
@PhilipTarpley it's a bug.
Ohoho... I'm getting quite excited for it already

+1With a little fine tuning this will be good to go
+1This!
When you need to harpoon the USS tiny
@randomusername ah, I hope they could do it if they're free. Definitely would love to see it

Brilliant!
+1This is good. I love it
@blackvultureaeroespace ah, no, I'm just a weeaboo. ;P
@blackvultureaeroespace tatsumaki means tornado
Kyu being my 'cue' aircraft series which focuses on hovering creations.
Gahh brings back memories
@blackvultureaeroespace thanks, but well, it's more of a hybrid at this point.

@Aarons123 hmh, I see, well idk, i did it in medium physics, not sure if it'll do anything
@Aarons123 it uses the air going through the props to spin like a real-life autogyro, you shouldn't need to press any buttons. Is it stuck?
@Aarons123 it does, the faster it spins, the more lift it provides. @robloxweponco oh thank you ><
@GenericWhiteGuy it's flying fine in medium physics lmao.
+1@GenericWhiteGuy that modded detacher is so outdated ><
+1You don't have xml editing mods installed?
