What a wonky little dude. Has the wing placement of a American experimental fighter, the looks of a French plane, and there engines of a British heavy fighter. Plus the very American propane tanks and a gunner shoved behind the pilot. The landing gear retract into where radial engines would be but I’ll over look that for now.
What a… delight to behold.
In all seriousness though really cool plane. Kinda like a premi he 111 with radials and some fun features. I really like the landing gear, very exciting movements. Neat plane!
Oh it’s an easy fix to model accurate speed for a plane @AkasukiNomura
First it to make sure that the drag points are a good number, not too low or the plane will accelerate too fast, not to high or the plane will not reach high enough speed. It doesn’t have to be rocket science, a ballpark estimate is good enough.
The second is to make sure that the engines have accurate horsepower. The slider can make quick work of it and using the XML mod can be used to set the proper value. But more importantly is the propeller pitch. If you’re building a plane that has fixed pitch propellers, try to find the sweet spot of percentage that will get the plane to the speed you want it.
It’ll take a bit of tweaking and testing but to make things go faster apply trim and speed up the game to see what the top speed during level flight.
I hope this helps
Pretty cool plane. The only problem I see with it is the speed. This thing goes 555 mph which is musty faster then the actual top speed of the Ki-57. Other then that it’s a good plane. I especially like the landing gear!
This is right up my alley!
I was planning to work on a seaplane for another challenge, but since this deadline is far away in looks like I have time.
I also have a question for the visual category under “How good it looks”. Is it judging the quality of the plane or how inoffensive to the eye it is?
Because I have an idea to make the lovechild of a Blackburn R-1 Blackburn and a Avro 555 Bison that grew up but stoped half way through childhood. In essence, the most horrendous aircraft to ~maybe~ fly.
If not that, then an Airspeed As. 4 Ferry or some drunk Caproni bomber.
It’s supposed to be fuselage art of a serpent. I saw a few of pictures of World War 1 and 2 aircraft with art of serpents or snakes along the side of the fuselage @xNotDumb
I was think that the side fuel tanks could be dangerous, but since they’re located externally(I think) they seem pretty safe as long as a round doesn’t penetrate into the crew compartment
@YourLocalHuman how realistic do these crafts have to be in terms of performance? Should I try to build aircraft as realistic to the World War One period as can be or should I design them to counter the other aircraft submitted to this challenge?
A bomber on the side of the Marineon Empire would be a great help @brentisaac22
I’m already planing a light bomber, but maybe a medium or heavy bomber should see some light
@simpleplaneeeeeeeeeeee cool plane! Ways to improve include the following;
Remove some fuel from the front so the Center Of Mass will shift back.
Remove the inside pair of elevators they are not necessary.
!
Change the control surfaces on the edges of the wings to « roll » alone.
Reduce weight where possible.
Ask if you need clarification or help
@Cartooncat32exe sure when I have time. Do ya have any requests or requirements like part count or interior quality?
I was thinking about building the Loire Nieuport 10, have you heard of it before?
The b-10’s one of my favorites too! I remember building one years back.
Some advice, check the fuselage collisions for the turrets in the future. Sometimes you get a weird yawing motion. You nailed the nose turret though!
Oi this looks pretty good! Keep experimenting!
@ThomasRoderick thank you! It’s nice to be back!
+1This is a really cool aircraft! And the glass for frantic idea is super smart!! You get my upvote
+1@Hiimakeplanes oh no, must be an issue with the file. It looks fine on my end but I’ll check it out
@Bryan5 thank you!
+1Ooo very cool blimp

Very beautiful aircraft you got here

Cool design

+1Nice tank
+2Panzer IV long guns are my favorite
This is right up my alley!

Look great
Very cool
+1Thanks @HuskyDynamics01
Do you want me to give you credit for this when I post the plane?
Since the aircraft is from the Korean War, I’ll need the more modern roundel with the red stripes @HuskyDynamics01
+1Like this one
I see what I can do @Bellcat. Although I did not plan on it
Your planes are fantastic and I love them
+1I know it has to have a cockpit but does it have to have a detailed cargo bay interior? @Walvis
Very cool!
+1Dang, never even sent out my strike aircraft to the frontlines
Thank you@HuskyDynamics01
+1Very nice, very detailed
I like the suspension and the hood details
I didn’t know the the Marineon Air Force employed female pilots.
Tis a sad day. May she fly to the firmament
I made it with photoshop and google slides @RNManufactures
+2Thanks @HuskyDynamics01
+1Can I request a day long extension to the deadline? I’m having difficulty finish up my build
It’s supposed to be fuselage art of a serpent. I saw a few of pictures of World War 1 and 2 aircraft with art of serpents or snakes along the side of the fuselage @xNotDumb
Lovely livery
Mabuhay!
For a second I though you used a really big torpedo for the hull
+1I’m not sure if Marineon should be afraid or find a way to kill these things
Holy Smokes! Guess I’m making torpedo boats then
+1I was think that the side fuel tanks could be dangerous, but since they’re located externally(I think) they seem pretty safe as long as a round doesn’t penetrate into the crew compartment
Glad to see my Kestrel Bis is making a difference in the war effort, even better to know that a pilot made ace in it!
I guess it ain’t a widow maker no more
+2Cool
+1The description says that dreadnoughts are allowed. @lewishasnoiq
Oh nice! It looks like one of the Airco series of planes. Very historical
I feel like building the planes from Wii sports resort now

+1Are aircraft tested against each other? Will a plane from the Marineon Empire fight against a Berlingachon plane in a AI battle? @Yourlocalhuman.

@YourLocalHuman Do you happen to have the newsletter about the original Kestrel? I’d like to put it in the Kestrel’s description
@Newcountiva I don’t know how I feel knowing that this plane is my Kestrel’s replacement. This plane is really fast though
