@ThomasRoderick I think what you need to write in the file is "InputController=LandingGear". I'm not in front of my PC right now, or I could tell you for certain. Scroll through the design file, find the "InputController" line and I know for sure that "=LandingGear" is correct. Good luck.
Yes, open the normal menu on the designer page and you can set the rotator to any activation group you like. However, you need to XML mod (or easiest to use the Overload mod) to set the "LandingGear" switch to command the rotator. If you can't have mods or XML mod yourself (i.e., if you're an iOS user), just search "Parts" on the site and you'll find lots of modded rotators to suit your needs.
No that's not why there's autoroll, it's because of this. For proof, I built my F-4 this way and there's zero auto-roll, even if it's slightly asymmetrical (the "rescue" arrow and yellow door on the right side of the forward fuse are not mirrored in any way).
Ok, very cool...you can fire these rockets at air to air targets. Do you think you can Mod rocket pods to do that as well? I really like fighters from the 50's, but the air to air rockets they used are not replicable in SP...until now!!
@Enderminion I think I get it, you've been flying a lot of builds with XML modded missiles. In real life, missiles aren't freakin' laser beams, you have to lock up the target first, then fire. That's one of the reason why the F-4 had a RIO. Even on the F-15, F-16 and F-22, you have to lock up before firing, we don't just fire off a missile to hone in on whatever it wants to, otherwise you might shoot down your wingman. As for jettisoning stores, that button is only intended to drop all your stores if you get into a problem (engine fire or failure) on takeoff and have to jettison weight in order to avoid crashing, not to fire off the missiles to shoot down targets. Anyway, I'd think it would be unrealistic to do otherwise, so when flying, try and make allowances that you're going to have to maneuver to lock up targets, not just cruise along straight and level at FL400 plinking off airplanes! I'll mod the aircraft description to make that clear.
@Enderminion how do you mean? Small boresight, or they don't work at all for you? Are you selecting air to air mode, then the appropriate missile type, closing to the proper range, keeping the target in the reticle until locked up (target turns solid red), then firing? They're stock missiles so should work normally.
This is very nice. I especially like that you paid attention to the details and got the markings right. The B-36 was pretty spectacular for a (mostly) piston airplane, they would cruise at close to 50,000', I've heard.
@GhostHTX yeah, right...I'm pretty cheap, I hate paying for expensive things like new iPhones and computers. I did get a new iPad from my new employer, I guess they expect us to be able to pull up the approach plates so I suppose they were obligated! I do have to upgrade my 5, though, now that Apple has decided to stop pushing updates to the 5...won't the the X cost 1,000 POUNDS in the UK when they release it?
@Gestour yeah, sure 200 points isn't that much, unless you're trying to avoid XML modding your engines (and the unrealistic acceleration that entails) and still achieve realistic speeds...whew! That was a mouthful!
Well, whatever you're doing on that iPhone, keep it up. My 5 cannot handle it, so I have to download on my PC. I'm probably going to have to sell a kidney and buy an 8, which I've been avoiding as long as I can...$1000 for an iPhone X...ugh!
@TheMutePaper except that it rolls using differential elevator, which is different to most aircraft save some high performance fighters. I tried to build an F-16 which rolled like that and it was a mess, I don't think SP dynamics would support it unless there was a trick involved (such as hidden ailerons).
@Weaverfish thanks, what I mean to ask is that one of the rotators appears to be already activated, it sits at an angle with the thick part concealed in the wing, already rotated at an angle with the landing gear extended.
Why don't you try and build it yourself? If you do not yet have the skills work at it until you do. It would be a good goal for you to have for yourself.
Yes, but they don't sell this in the U.S. The closest thing is the Offroad, but I guess that's what I'll eventually buy unless Audi changes its mind and brings a real sport wagon back here...
This is very good...while not perfect; and no build is perfect, you nailed the look and overall feel of the Mossie. There are many other more detailed Mosquito builds by much higher ranked players, but I don't remember a more fun build that captures the plane's spirit like this one does. Nice work, Spotlit and you have a new follower. Your other builds are impressive as well.
@ThomasRoderick thanks! Kind of surprised this thing has 41 upvotes when some of my other designs don't (F-4, cough, cough)!

What platform are you on?

Hans Ulrich Rudel would be proud!
@Hyperloop well what's the better method?? Mine is too tedious a prevention method.

Nice aesthetics, really needs a description, though!
If it ain't a Boeing, I ain't going! Oh yeah, maybe a CRJ 200 or two...
Ok, this is pretty awesome, I must admit. I would Spotlight this, but I'm not nearly the builder you are, so you outrank me!

Another great build!
Well, I just (finally) ordered an iPhone 8. They asked me if I wanted to wait for the X and I said "No!"

@TheMutePaper yes, I am well aware of what elevons are.

Looks a lot like an Alphajet, but weapons say: Mirage 2000N

Wow, truly your best work to date!
This is about as close to perfect as I've seen this subject, perfect lines, nice.
This. Is. Adorable.
Oh, disregard I see what you did...thanks for the explanation!
@Weaverfish thanks, what I mean to ask is that one of the rotators appears to be already activated, it sits at an angle with the thick part concealed in the wing, already rotated at an angle with the landing gear extended.
@Strikefighter04 yes, they do have a little detail to them, agreed. Yes, I saw the finished version just now, not bad!
Looks good, but why would you use those stock intakes?
@NativeChief1492, welcome back!
So, I noticed that your landing gear rotators are angled so that they're better concealed in the wing when retracted...how did you manage that trick?
@WalrusAircraft I haven't forgotten either, I've just spent this last month on the road, so have had zero time of late.
👍
It's a good thing I'm following, would not want to miss this marvel of Soviet engineering!
@SledDriver anyone can...? I am curious to learn your technique, can you tell me?
Very nice, always like your work!
Yes, the cockpit view is really great on this one, it really adds!
Nice. As with all your builds, good shape and fun to fly, looks like a Hurri!
Why don't you try and build it yourself? If you do not yet have the skills work at it until you do. It would be a good goal for you to have for yourself.
Very fun to fly, easy to land, I really appreciate the accuracy/simplicity balance. Very mobile friendly.
A Jug that actually looks like a Jug--you nailed the shape, wings, gear, everything else. Nice.
Yes, but they don't sell this in the U.S. The closest thing is the Offroad, but I guess that's what I'll eventually buy unless Audi changes its mind and brings a real sport wagon back here...
Flight of the Intruder.
+1Beautiful work here, the wing folding and landing gear are very impressive, as is the flight deck/cockpit area.
This is also fun to fly on the bridge demolition mission as well.

For the Motherland! Beautiful build!
