You've literally made no point whatsoever other than to share your opinion. "More user freindly", "bring the A-game", wow! With ideas like that you should be a developer. Your remarks are duly noted. BTW, punctuation is a thing.
This would be great. More of an offline challenge scenario, but I feel like there would need to be some kind of motivation to complete. Maybe unlocking some new prebuilt airceaft/vehicles?
I can totally get behind the organization of downloaded planes; plus searching would be easier (which shouldn't be a custom Google search engine). Not sure about the clubs, guilds, factions though, might get a bit elitistie. The bio/profiles would be great! As an aviation profesional, I really would like to know who all these great aviation ideas are coming from. Cheers mate.
@masteroftheskys
Tourny planes are built specifically for speed and agility, to the point of near uncontrollability. Extremely effective pitch and roll will allow you to make it through the whole course.
Looks great! I built one of these myself and had one hell of a time getting the damned thing to fly. No idea how the engineers got it to fly back in the 40s.

I don't know what that is but I'm fighting the AI induced oscillation on all my fast planes. My guess is it has to do with the AI trying to make minute adjustments with very large control surfaces. I found that placing hor-stabs behind the main mass of the aircraft (slipstream) helps reduce oscillation.
You've got to bring the weight in off the wings. Every turn will need to counter the opposite wing's engine weight which will slow roll significantly. The most agile aircraft have the majority of their weight very close to all rotational axis.
@Aerodesigner35
Build a plane in the designer. It needs to be extremely agile to the point of being uncontollable (the computer can handle it). Save the plane and test it on the race track, remember to check 'computer controlled' so you can see how the computer is handling the aircraft. Once you've built something you want to enter, share the aircraft from the designer main menu, go to the tourny page and submit the aircraft. Opps, turned into a novel ;)
@Geekpride
What's your difinition of slow. I had to dial down the speed myself for realiabilty, so I'm pulling about 2:30 runs. I'm assuming that's pretty slow.
I'm not sure how doubling the weight and halfing the power to weight ratio is an improvement. The wing area is more than doubled but the wing loading is just about the same. The aircraft no longer rolls with authority and flies like a wide body jet with a rhino on its back. I'm not trying to be a douche about it, just wondering what improvements were made.
@hopotumon
This aircraft was built using a few scaled parts so it won't qualify for the Yetti race, but given how well this design handles, I will likely build another model that will pass tourny rules.
I suck! I don't get it.
Sweet plane though. You earned another follower. Wait, I'm already following you. Wonder why I didn't get a notification on this build.
@ccooper
Thanks! I get a lot of insperation from concept aircraft that could have worked but were never built. I have built a few replicas but I often find it more difficult to design them accurately. Cheers!
The amount of work this must have taken already is mind boggling! 448 parts already and you've yet to build any of the moving parts. I look forward to its completion.
@CL4TRP
As long as there is beer left, everything's just fine ;)
Multi-stage aircraft. They're tough but fun.
I've got a few in my collection.
Word!

@NAviation
Your aircraft has scaled wings. No xml modding for this tourny.

I work aviation operations at Paine Field, the airport where Boeing's Everett production facility is located.

Are you actually a Boeing engineer? Everett or Renton? I work operations at Paine Field.

Are you submitting an aircraft for Shark Tooth?
What is this witchcraft? Very nice work.
@salisbey
Thanks for the props!
Wow! Well done.
I have a feeling that mid-air collisions are going to play a pretty significant role in this race.
Are you taking this to Shark Tooth?
Jeebus! That plane is mostly bomb. Every time I try to fly it it blows up before takeoff. Maybe it's just so big it's crashing my chitty old tablet ;)
Tis a shexy beasht... is what Sean Connery would say.

@Goblix
Damnit! I was proud of my 1:13 ;)
What kind of times are we looking at? I'm averaging around 1:18ish.
Isn't this exactly Bacon's aircraft, save for the paint job?
@Supermini555
LOL, you won! ;)
Well done.
Super fast or 100% reliable???
I have both but I think any aircraft that finishes under 1:30 is going to crash at least a few times.
Well done! Congrats on your win. I'll get you on the next round ;)
Nice one!

Best AI contolled run I've been able to pull off is around 2:30, but at least it finishes reliably.

I'm in!
Is scaling considered xml modding?
@SteadfastContracting
Thanks!
Are you just re-uploading other builders' aircraft?
Is it somehow different than the original?
Dr. Jones! He no nuts, he's crazy ;)
Well done!
What is this witchcraft?! Very cool!

@Kimo
Sigh, I have to wait for the update an May 14 :-(
That's got to be the highest power to weight ratio I've seen on SP. Modded mini jets?
Well done!
@Liquidfox
Thanks! This one worked out really well.
