@Diloph The nose gear was an experiment of sorts. I've always simplified the landing gear to exclude the hydraulics and things that actually provide suspension, but I figured I would give it a shot for once. I'm reasonably happy with how it went, but getting the thing to work the way I wanted and have decent pushback was...annoying.
@Leehopard Aww shoot, seriously!?
.
What does that do other than give each weapon a name? :o
.
I assume it wouldn't fix the issue where I can't have multiple missiles of the same type with different attributes (an A2A and A2G intercepter, for example)
@UFNNICF5TF Oh man...I have many down the pipeline...and several I started and didn't finish...
.
We'll see. I definitely need more prop plane builds under my belt.
@ChisP I'm gonna assume that number is based on a certain speed and cruising altitude, but fair enough. Honestly that's way too sluggish compared to the rest of my builds, so for sake of balance against my other jets I'm okay with that. Thank you!
Post-upload note: If you want a bit more accurate aesthetic, angle all four underwing pylons down by 2 degrees (MAKE SURE to select "connected parts" in the native nudge tool so it grabs the tanks and bombs). I'm just tired of working on this thing and I already took the screenshots I wanted. Gomenasai for the laziness...
Similar techniques to mine, although you have slightly more fine detail and fuselage blocks for the canopy glass (I just use a rough outline of the canopy.). Mine definitely has more functions. Not bad! :)
@Mustang51 Yeah, I was willing to let that slide a bit given the other goals I wanted to hit with this build. It's also probably the most effort I've put into a cockpit so far out of all my jets.
.
Biggest annoyance was that I couldn't find a consistent cockpit panel layout for the F11F. The only consistency seemed to be a large compass instrument in the bottom-center, the gunsight, and the stick/throttle. So I chose A layout and stuck to it.
@Tang0five Thank you. I just...don't wanna bore people with R e a d i n g
.
The Crusader lasted a long time from the bunch that appeared post Korea. Although I guess you could call it the exception.
.
Also I might be planning to build those "post Korea" jets ._.
So I'm building a jet that uses Spoilerons for roll control. I want to test using the built-in ailerons as a substitute (since custom control surfaces can be iffy in terms of response in-flight from my experience). I want the Ailerons to ONLY move in one direction. How can I do that?
I tested abs(Roll) in the input ID and it locked the aileron in place.
@AerialFighterSnakes Pretty much all the "tail-dragger" style aircraft used by the Navy towards the end of WWII, Korea, etc. required something similar when launching with catapults. I think there are photos which show the A-1 using these launch bars, but they may have mounted to the landing gear instead of the fuselage...I don't research nearly as well as I could on the subject.
@typeZERO Actually you pretty well kicked my tail. Those missiles kept damaging control surfaces and robbing me of any agility. I HAVE to nail a head-on pass to get the kill, which is still risky.
.
I used my MiG-15 build for this
.
Jeanne is kyut :P
@Shippy456 The F4H-1 was just barely starting to slow my laptop. It's some Dell laptop with i3. I forget the model name and specs.
.
And thanks xD dabs on self
@NANOMAN Y'know what, you're right. I got that wrong on the old Su-27 as well. :/
.
Ah well, I'll deal with the inaccuracy since the aileron still follows a panel line, and I can't get custom control surfaces (aside from tailerons) to have enough effect on maneuvering.
@Kevon87 I've secretly had a running theme I called "Project:Nam" (cliche I know) where I've been building jets from that conflict. I'll probably get back to it at some point, but I DO have an A-4E planned and an A-1H.
@Zanedavid I was surprised how good it looked, to be honest. It's probably not an actual pallet used by the Russians, but it suits the new build well; it's more like US Aggressor schemes
@Tang0five This upgrade to the original Su-27 was long coming; even back then I wasn't happy that I couldn't get the proportions just right. I am absolutely happy with this incarnation, and hopefully it'll restart my interest to build other offshoots of the Flanker
Just got done flying it around and doing a dogfighting test versus my own Su-27.
.
Your build looks great, but performance wise I have to be as gentle as possible in the pitch. Even mildly intense pitch control below around 350-400mi/hr causes me to enter spins, which I think hurts the overall agility. This makes dogfighting a tricky prospect.
.
Also it...kinda like to blow up when firing missiles at certain AoA. Not sure why that is.
.
Still it's a nice build :)
@BlackhattAircraft SO FUNNY THING...This jet was actually started first, but then I got stuck on how to get the landing gear to look right and stopped.
.
After being bored staring at it's unfinished behind I switched to the F-8 and here we are. :) Now both jets are up
@Falkenwut :)
@MrPorg137 Thank you :)
Annie are you okay? X3

@typeZERO lol
@AerialFighterSnakes Why of course. Perhaps that will also be an impromptu Ace Combat build :)
@UFNNICF5TF Oh man...I have many down the pipeline...and several I started and didn't finish...

We'll see. I definitely need more prop plane builds under my belt.
@WANTSUMFUK122 Nice :)
@JolyLoly How so? I thought it handled great, though you do have to be careful when turning with no bombs or drop tanks
@HawkerAviation One of these days it'll happen. :)
@ChisP I'm gonna assume that number is based on a certain speed and cruising altitude, but fair enough. Honestly that's way too sluggish compared to the rest of my builds, so for sake of balance against my other jets I'm okay with that. Thank you!
@TheSolarFlare Hmm?

You're gud
:)

Are those custom missiles my designs? I honestly don't remember. x)

@Brields95 That's what I do currently. It doesn't respond like the stock control surfaces (It's SO SLOW...)
I could use some help with figuring this out;
So I'm building a jet that uses Spoilerons for roll control. I want to test using the built-in ailerons as a substitute (since custom control surfaces can be iffy in terms of response in-flight from my experience). I want the Ailerons to ONLY move in one direction. How can I do that?

@Empergyd No prob. :) Nice to see someone else doing early MiG-21 builds.

@SovietBun UwU
@Galland Aww, thank you uwu
@typeZERO I'm gonna ask you to stop for real. Not something that should be said on this site.
@typeZERO I don't lewd the Hoppou ._.

Jeanne :)

Gonna have to test this against one of my actual MiG replicas and see how it fares.
@Trainzo Thank you :)

Never stop making memey, dumb builds my dude xD
@Diloph Ugh, am very disappointed I couldn't get it to Cobra.
.
I'm okay with general turning performance though.
Dang this thing is about to hit 4,000 downloads...crazy.
@NANOMAN Y'know what, you're right. I got that wrong on the old Su-27 as well. :/

Holy crap dude xD

Oh! @Kungfuevan Here's the new Flanker-B model.
@N1KO I don't think my crappy laptop could handle it x)
.
Maybe I could pay more attention to external bits and bumps at least.
@BenSkyWalker It's a cool build, and works as advertized. :) No problem
@Tang0five This upgrade to the original Su-27 was long coming; even back then I wasn't happy that I couldn't get the proportions just right. I am absolutely happy with this incarnation, and hopefully it'll restart my interest to build other offshoots of the Flanker
@CoolPeach I'm playing Strikers Fighters 2 a lot after rediscovering it, and yeah...the -7D's are the worst ones. That's more what I'm getting at. <:3
Just got done flying it around and doing a dogfighting test versus my own Su-27.

@methirasoysa123 :)
@vcharng Hayabusa is the just the Japanese name for it. No different than how we called the F4U 'Corsair' or something along those lines.
@AerialFighterSnakes Short Little Ugly Fellow :)
