You've actually inspired me to try my own hand at making the 985. It's pretty much finished aside from possible further fine-tuning, so I'll be posting that at some point here.
@MailboxIsMyGender I went back and forth on if I wanted to do markings, and I settled on having a bit of fun and doing the protagonist squadron from AC4. I almost did an in-game loadout too, but figured a real configuration was more exciting visually.
.
Technically the Hornets in Ace Combat 4 are the -18C, but visually they're almost identical to the -18A. So it still works.
@MailboxIsMyGender I have an older F/A-18C build from before designersuite mod came out. I plan to do the twin seat Bravo, but I could squeeze in the Alpha.
.
Super Etendard would be SUPER fun to try
@Alta2809 I almost did the panels on the side, but realised they were too low in the cockpit and would've been hidden by the fuselage block. I also only did the instruments that would've been visible.
@UFNNICF5TF I plan to have an Su-30MKI, Su-33, and Su-35, and the prototype T-10-1.
.
The -33 is already finished, but I'm waiting to start the -30MKI. Also I'll probably just have an annnouncement-style post to link towards all of them.
@Evenstsrike333 Thanks. Wanted to try building a model that wasn't so widely known, but this was also a jab at improving on my original MiG-29A build using the designersuite mod
Ah, the fighter most feared by U.S. pilots in the conflict. I have an earlier variant of the same jet (the F-13) in my collection, but this looks great.
.
Nice to see it in the markings of my people too :)
@ChiChiWerx I've always had the trim like that. I do have to admit that SP physics and the game engine aren't kind to this guy. The A-6E had the same problem when I deployed flaps.
.
@JohnnyBoythePilot Hmm, I'll check that out.
@Kungfuevan Funny enough anime was my first exposure to the F1; there's a series called Area 88 that had a TV anime in 2004, and one of the characters later on flies an F1.
.
Or maybe that's fitting given my username I dunno X)
Right on, man; that's exactly what the Air Force, Marines, and Navy wanted. The branches actually did test an F-5 against a MiG-21 in simulated dogfights and found that the F-5 series were well on par with the Fishbed. So whenever a pilot training at Nellis or Top Gun saw the Freedom Fighter (or the later Tiger II) it was likely trying to mimic MiG-21s. I dunno if pilots were told that.
Interestingly I guess F-14s were used to simulate Su-27's? With wings swept slightly the two have a similar profile.
I'm noticing that if I do anything other than adjust the size, rotation, etc. of the image I choose it goes away. That forces me to click 'set view' again so it resets me to the perspective I load the image to. I'll have to get used to that.
I decided to give the build a gunpod and the 600gal centerline drop tank Phantoms carried. The drop tank is on the right floating in space. The gunpod is already attached.
@Viper3000ad I work with a laptop, so I can't run high part count models or even decent graphics settings. I sort of have to keep these things below 200 parts for my own PC's sake. Thank you; had fun making the Flanker.
@Zaineman I guess it got yoinked, but yeah no prob lol
.
I will say that the TVC seems to like getting stuck in a random direction when I flew it, so it tended not to fly straight unless I just don't touch the PSM switch. Not sure how that could be fixed
Holy crap, looking back at some of these responses I made to people makes me want to die inside.
.
I am so sorry for being such a dick at the time. ._.b

+1@Shadowed Heheheheh

+1@nameisalreadytaken Hmm...
+1.
Go ahead. I'd rather respec the missile inside but university is keeping me busy.
@TheBlyatful1941 I have a far better F-4 Phantom posted already. Go check that out instead. :)
+1@TheBlyatful1941 I'll probably redo this plane instead. This build is OLD as heck, and deserves far better.
+1@SUPER64 Eventually I'll attempt a more detailed cockpit in one of my jets. Maybe I'll build some kind of test aircraft just for that.
+1@UFNNICF5TF I plan to have an Su-30MKI, Su-33, and Su-35, and the prototype T-10-1.

@HawkerAviation An F-15 is planned, friend. :) eventually

Yeah there's no way my laptop will run either version of this lol R.I.P.
+1.
Beautiful. Trailer for this thing was awesome.
.
AIM-7D's THO...
@AerialFighterSnakes Maybe. I'll have to pick a model, but a Reisen is in the future...somewhere.
+1@Thelegitpilot13 laughing-cries in every replica I've ever made
+1@inocone The physics and overall game engine don't lend themselves well to replicas, but darnit this is a great Hayabusa. Nice work. :)
+1@ChiChiWerx I've always had the trim like that. I do have to admit that SP physics and the game engine aren't kind to this guy. The A-6E had the same problem when I deployed flaps.

@JohnnyBoythePilot This. THE classic phrase that even got a patch made out of it
+1@Kungfuevan A-4E is on my list, and I have a drawing for it. Just gotta wait for the next thing to be done
+1Way better than my F1.
+1@yoshicraze Yeah, go ahead. Just give proper credit.
+1@Zott Indeed. Beautiful shaping ^.^
+1@ChiyomiAnzai I posted on accident lel. I'll have the actual one up soon

Ooooo, this is cool :)
+1@0644701018

Not the AV-8B you requested, but it is a Harrier II. Hope you like it. :)
@ChiyomiAnzai Sure, go ahead
+1@Spitfirelad05 It's been sitting in my list of jets to build for a while. Glad to finally make it. :)
+1@Kungfuevan

+1Thank you lel
@DemXu Nah. My anime bucket list is a mile long, but OPM is on there for sure.

+1@Strikefighter04 I'd say F/A-18s and F-16s also. The stock Wasp build IS an F-18 pretty much.
Honestly I should have spent a bit more time on this before posting it. X)
+1@MOPCKOEDNISHE Aww, it's my Su-27. I'm flattered, man :3
+1@ThomasRoderick

+1@RedRoosterII Highly capable for sure. In a way the Flanker and Fulcrum led to the F-22A.

+1@Falkenwut @Dllama4 @MOPCKOEDNISHE
Thanks for the upvotes. MOPCKOEDNISHE thanks for the spotlight.
+1I saw bits of the original OVA version and the remade anime and I love both. This is awesome!
+1@Robomo119E The US Navy did it the same way for quite some time; The A-1, A-4, and I think the naval F-4's all used arrestor bars of this fashion.
@Monarchii Indeed
.
also hi chii, good to see you again :)
Hey, cheese pizza may be basic, but basic can still be good :9
@DatMaluchGuy19 *blessed
oh nyo, last post :0

@Tang0five Wish it flew better; I just get the feeling it shouldn't feel as heavy as it does, given how some actual RAF pilots talk about the Hawks.
