Technically, I believe it does float. If you start it floating. I tend to use floats anytime I use blocks, just because I like seeing it float after a stall or crash.
But I'd be surprised if anyone managed to land it on the sea or take it off the water. So no. Not designed for water.
Just realized I forgot to give instructions.
Nothing major, just that VTOL control adds extreme additional elevator control. Inverted same as the regular elevator.
@hypnotoad @ZFM99 Thanks for the help guys. Looks like I just needed to try harder. At least it isn't a glitch. I love the look of so many rough drafts and hate changing them even a little to make them air or trench worthy. Then again sometimes a modifier gives it a better look.
Best thing about SP. Way easier to correct than the origami planes I like to make.
@ZFM99 I know, and it has dorsal stabilizers, but no yaw control points. The rudder is there, but the way this loses control seems more like an unbalanced semi-symmetric wing or elevator. Like when you mirror and it keeps an old wing, making an extra wing inside the new mirrored one. But in this case, the CoL is centered. That's all I want fixed with this. Flies perfectly well until you roll, then it's pretty much out.
@hypnotoad I actually agree with you on your first statement, but I see you as an authority on the genre (for lack of a better term) of plane that I enjoy making. And also, in the spirit of boundary pushing, you've answered my question in an unexpected way, even answering questions I did not know I'd had. A and B the C of D so to speak. I thank ya for the good words and have been instilled with a new fervor to make some more funky fliers. And for tagging, will do good man.
@hypnotoad I actually made this in response to seeing a bunch of your planes. Couldn't download, and I doubted the aerodynamics of your stuff, so I just went and made one. Not quite similar, but got the point across. Blissfully wrong I must say.
@hypnotoad Geez, you're gonna give me some serious ego. But anyhoo, that's all good to know. But my main question is, how does this sort of thing compare for the site? Barring replicas, experimental, modded, etc? Or is that even a viable question?
@hypnotoad Thanks. As of a side, could you take a look at my Spite Princess? I think the name plus the color scheme gets it passed over. But I find it even better than the Penitant Omen, regarding agility, and an expert's opinion would be awesome. Noting that, only having my own planes, I have no baseline for decent performance.
Right after I uploaded this, I realized I'd forgotten to increase the fuel capacity.
Just max fuel the far right tip and the sloping panel near it, then mirror. Stays balanced and increases fuel by about 300%.

Can't download, so won't judge control and stuff. But for description and appearance, it's top-notch. Keep it up! I want to see more.

Indeed, you've turned aerodynamics into an art form!
@FIOu @hypnotoad @StrykrIV @Kevpilot Thanks y'all.
Looks great.
@hypnotoad
Looks awesome. I live this. Captured the starship look perfectly.

@ZFM99 Thanks. I will do so also.
My absolute favorite gunship. Very good. Love it.

I like the aesthetics on this one. Looks great.
@ZFM99 I'll try that again mate. Didn't try a ton with rudder. I mainly don't know why it doesn't fly straight on its own.
Also, whatever your fix is, please tell me in the comments, as I'm unable to download. Thankye. ^ ^
It's a great start. I love the 262.
Looks cool. Kinda like a drone or sommit.
Per request. @hypnotoad
I love the looks of this. Nice build and paint job.
Great looking plane. And I love backstories.
@hypnotoad I do like the character of these. Remind me of the paper airplanes that got me into aviation.

This is fabulous mate, marvelous way to use Simple Planes and its physics engine. I want to see more. ^ ^
I can't download, but it looks good. Aptly named.
That looks great. Well done.
@hypnotoad Alright. Thanks for the info. Either which way, very nice plane, again.
Is it unusual or rude to rate a plane without actually flying it? I'm currently unable to download.
