Yeah for sure. I had a little experience with 3D modeling previously, and when I first started with SP I thought it was fairly simple, but then again, I’ve been playing for a few months now and I’m still learning stuff all the time. So I could certainly see how someone without much computer skill could take one look at the builder and be like wwwwwtf??? @XjayIndustrys
Haha well thank you. Yeah, I guess I can see why they didn’t make the builder more complicated; maybe it would be sorta intimidating to someone just starting out. Especially someone without much computer skill, or without any kind of 3D modeling experience... not that this is autoCAD or anything, but still. It would be cool if they had multiple builders for players of different experience levels. But that sounds like more development and I have no idea what kind of resources Jundroo has available. I’m sure plenty of smarter people than me have thought through all of this before haha. @XjayIndustrys
Ah right yeah that makes sense. What I don’t understand is why they designed it so you have to slide the bar to rotate. It’s so much more unwieldy and less accurate than the setup they have for the nudge. Why didn’t they make it so you could type in the value for the deg* of rotation you want!??!? Sheesh. I guess maybe cause it’s less intuitive for beginners? But that’s debatable, and I still think it was a bad call on the devs’ part... no offense to them or anything, I really love this game. If you could call it a game, cause it’s much more than that. @XjayIndustrys
Haha right on thanks man. Yeah, I shoulda just taken the gyro out of there it really is useless and unnecessary.
Actually, apart from using Overload and Fine Tuner to change the scale and mass of the wings inside the parasail (and the mass of the fuselage parts in the parasail) I built all of this on my iPhone. I just built everything on the parasail upright and attached to the body of the craft by one hinge rotator. Then when it was finished, I rotated all of the parasail at once, with that one hinge rotator being the part I was rotating (with “connected parts”) and I just eyeballed it to get to around 45*. It was iffy and I know there’s a more precise way to do it using the mods but I don’t know how hahaha @XjayIndustrys
Hmm, yeah. I can’t decide what to do about the prop... I folded the wings that way cause the idea is you can drive around like a boat without that whole pesky “taking off” thing haha. If I told the wings up, it’ll have too high of a center of mass when they’re folded and wouldn’t be able to speed around on the water. But you guys are definitely right about the tail being too big and the lg being too small, I’m working on those bits.
Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments and feedback, it was very helpful :) I’m going to tinker with this plane some more @XjayIndustrys
Nice!!! Yeah this is based on the A5 but the shapes were too complicated for my poor little brain to approximate hahah. So I just built something after the same fashion. Martin Icon will be awesome I can’t wait to see it!!! Don’t forget to tag me when you’ve got something built! :) :) @Chancey21
Thank you so much! And also; honestly, both of you build mechanisms that are completely baffling and awe inspiring. I know you’re just being modest but don’t sell yourself short! Haha :) @BaconAircraft
Haha. Jeez I did not look at the description I just dl’ed it and started playing. That’s my fault I’m sorry. It really takes off great, good job. In fact this is my favorite ornithopter of yours so far I think. So great job man! I’ll spotlight tomorrow @GenericWhiteGuy
I really like the way this plane flies. Seems like it’s hard to get the “big plane” flight characteristics to feel right in SP, and you did a good job with this one. You might want to make the attatch point of the vertical stabilizer a little stronger though. I definitely ended up getting some death-wobble with it haha.
Thanks man! I’m pretty frustrated with it so that’s nice to hear haha. I don’t think this plane is going to get much attention, but I’m happy that you like it! :) thanks for your help with troubleshooting/morale boosting by the way @XjayIndustrys
Wow thanks man, that is really cool of you to say, I really appreciate it! And thank you for all the upvotes! I know you said you only upvote what you like, and not to consider it a favor, but still, it makes me feel really good so thank you! I’ve been working pretty darn hard on my builds in the last month. So receiving genuine recognition is really gratifying. @tylerdeveneuxmusic
Haha awesome, thanks for all the suggestions guys! Is guess I’ll have a tough decision what to build next... @XjayIndustrys also suggested 14 Bis so we’ll see... @ThePrototype @Chancey21
Haha BMX bikes with a rotor that’s a good one. Thanks man! Although the flight characteristics are mainly attributed to the rotor assembly (of course) which I did not build. Credit to @Leehopard for that, but thank you nonetheless! :) I’m glad someone is able to fly it without the gyro haha I’m not all that good of a pilot. @Freerider2142
Thank you for that @XjayIndustrys
+1Haha. Right on man. You always cheer me up. @XjayIndustrys
+1@XjayIndustrys Yeah you definitely have the patience the I lack, to keep working on a build until it's just right.
+1Haha come on man don’t sell yourself short you’re a great builder! That BCD plane is fantastic! @XjayIndustrys
+1Yeah it definitely seems like you know what you’re doing!@XjayIndustrys

+1Sweet tanker! Good job! This thing is just begging to have an interior installed ;)
+1Awesome, thank you! :) @Smach3

+1Heck yes man this things sweet! I have such a big collection of ornithopters now! Hahaha @GenericWhiteGuy
+1Oh, I see, kinda like the Corsair? Like that? @XjayIndustrys

+1Awesome little glider great work!
+1Haha I hear you, sometimes they’re hard to keep up with. I haven’t finished getting through all of your builds either @tylerdeveneuxmusic
+1Awesome! This things really got some swagger! Lol XD
+1A truly awesome build.
+1Haha. I’m sorry man. I understand your pain... @Chancey21
+1You finally posted it!!!! Oh my god I love this plane sooo much you did an amazing job!
+1:) thank you very much. I don’t mean to get all brown-nosy on you but that means a lot coming from you. @BaconRoll
+1Great detail work, looks fantastic!!!
+1Don’t worry, you’re not alone! It is definitely a misleading shape haha. @MrDoolittle
+1Awesome plane! Great work :)
+1So like, once I pick a plane to build, then you’ll have some tips for me? @XjayIndustrys
+1I haven’t thought that far ahead yet hahaha. Why, you got some good ideas? @XjayIndustrys
+1Well hey, that’s gotta count for something right? Haha @XjayIndustrys
+1Thank you man, that helps :)@FastDan

+1Thanks! I’ll have to go back on my pc to get the scaled wing version and post it, hold on@XjayIndustrys
+1What a godsend thank you so much!! @FastDan
+1SP crashes as soon as I hit play with this plane :(. It’s really a cool build though!! Predecessor works.
+1Haha awesome, thanks for all the suggestions guys! Is guess I’ll have a tough decision what to build next... @XjayIndustrys also suggested 14 Bis so we’ll see... @ThePrototype @Chancey21
+1It’s so cute! Haha. Nice build, handsome, fun to fly, good work!
