  • A Small Addition to Gyroscopes 7.4 years ago

    These were my thoughts exactly when we first got them. They're amazing, but holding position instead of reverting back to the original position (and especially holding yaw position) would make them so much better

  • Thanks Guys 7.4 years ago

    Boop :P

  • Camera isnt working 7.4 years ago

    @BirdOfSteel maybe the one that weighed a ton didn't connect to the plane properly so the weight didn't count? I've had funny experiences with infinite fuel before so I don't really know lol

  • Camera isnt working 7.4 years ago

    @BirdOfSteel lol, at least it's fixed haha

  • [Piston power] The Nuclear Bear 7.4 years ago

    this flies really nicely. Unfortunately it broke a few times, but I think it was just bc my phone was lagging

  • Camera isnt working 7.4 years ago

    @BirdOfSteel hmm, that is weird

  • An actual aerospace question! 7.4 years ago

    @OtterOfToast that's good. Whatever happened, at least it works. And no problem, I'm glad to help :)

  • An actual aerospace question! 7.4 years ago

    @OtterOfToast I'm sure it's not you. If it happened when it was detached I would suggest making sure there was an intake for the engine on the bomb, but the inconsistent part is weird. Sometimes weird stuff just happens that doesn't really have an explanation

  • New Piston Speed Record? 7.4 years ago

    Impressive, but I think visify got his to like 850

  • Vote On My Next Halo Build! 7.4 years ago

    I think you should try the wasp using the gyro

  • An actual aerospace question! 7.4 years ago

    @OtterOfToast does it turn off only when you detach it, or does it just not work?

  • An actual aerospace question! 7.4 years ago

    @OtterOfToast the VTOL trick where the nozzles were powered by an external engine no longer works. You'd need to have an engine and some fuel on board if you want to have it powered. Control surfaces and stuff will work like normal when disconnected though

  • An actual aerospace question! 7.4 years ago

    @OtterOfToast ok!

  • An actual aerospace question! 7.4 years ago

    Could you tag me in a plane that is a good example of this? I could fiddle with it and try and figure out what the problem is

  • Compact X - 76CR 7.4 years ago

    I have to say, thumbnails of a 100 foot long row of pistons turning a propellor turned me away from these kinds of planes at first, but they're actually really cool. And making a small one that works just as well is really impressive!

  • An actual aerospace question! 7.4 years ago

    @OtterOfToast like it flips out of control or something? They still need to be a little separated for stability, so you could try and move them apart. You also want your CoT to be more or less in line with the CoM. It's not as important, but it can torque the plane in weird directions when you're going slowly

  • An actual aerospace question! 7.4 years ago

    Getting the CoM as close to the CoL means the control surfaces can rotate the plane easier, so you'll get more maneuverability while having smaller control surfaces (and also less drag when turning). Planes can get sluggish and slow to respond if the wing loading or speed isn't high enough though, so make sure it either goes fast or has plenty of wing area

  • Camera isnt working 7.4 years ago

    Are you using any negative mass on your plane? Usually if I use it and the plane weighs too little (or negative) then the camera does that

  • Fidget Spinner 7.4 years ago

    Sttopp ki.. kill it wtit h firree

  • Steampunk Heavy Airship 7.4 years ago

    @Treadmill103 thanks! And yeah, I spent so long just flying it around watching it zoom overhead

  • Steampunk Heavy Airship 7.4 years ago

    @SledDriver @Stingray thanks!

  • Steampunk Heavy Airship 7.4 years ago

    @Visify it worked! It's similar to what you said about offsetting it, but ironically it spins in the opposite direction that you'd think

  • Steampunk Heavy Airship 7.4 years ago

    @Visify that's what I wanted to do, but since you can only start a piston at full extension or contraction it didn't work. However, I just had an idea while writing this comment that could solve that problem hahaha

  • Steampunk Heavy Airship 7.4 years ago

    @Visify thanks, and yeah. The drone from this is pretty impressive

  • Steampunk Heavy Airship 7.4 years ago

    @PlanesOfOld I made a pretty good one a while ago, but I had trouble getting it to spin in the right direction consisnantly. Does it need to have lots of tourque or just like fast and stuff?

  • Steampunk Heavy Airship 7.4 years ago

    @Stellarlabs they're fun :)

  • Missile Evasion 7.4 years ago

    @HSAeroWerkes1 yeah, I don't spend much time playing with missile evasion so it really depends on whether the plane is agile enough for that tactic to work

  • what exactly does the featured system do and how does it work? 7.4 years ago

    @MrVaultech yeah, im pretty sure you're top highlighted build gets featured when you hit platinum

  • what exactly does the featured system do and how does it work? 7.4 years ago

    Yeah, its the devs/mods that can feature planes that are from gold or lower ranked users that are good enough to be on the front page

  • I can see what's happening here... 7.4 years ago

    @PlanesOfOld it can be hit or miss, but it's a good opportunity to get people aware of it

  • I can see what's happening here... 7.4 years ago

    @destroyerP actually on low physics settings it's much better than you think

  • Awwwwwwww! 7.4 years ago

    That sucks. I saw a couple people say they tried to do that lol

  • Missile Evasion 7.4 years ago

    I usually just do a corkscrew kind of thing directly at the missile. It works.. sometimes

  • One UNBELIEVABLE fact about planes that you never would have guessed... 7.4 years ago

    Judging by how some of my planes look, the fact that they fly is pretty unbelievable

  • Taking xml part request! 7.4 years ago

    @Kevinairlines I still have a few things left to do, but it'll be uploaded pretty soon

  • Taking xml part request! 7.4 years ago

    @Kevinairlines they're going to be powering a paddle wheel, but it's just for show so I don't need a strong engine to turn it

  • Taking xml part request! 7.4 years ago

    @Kevinairlines normal size. And could you do a x0.05 power one too? (In case the 0.1 is still too strong)

  • Taking xml part request! 7.4 years ago

    @Kevinairlines yep, thanks

  • Taking xml part request! 7.4 years ago

    Have you had a chance to make the vtol engine yet?

  • Taking mod parts requests Not Open :( 7.4 years ago

    @Kevinairlines I wish I could :( at least there are people like you who help us iOS peoples lol

  • Taking mod parts requests Not Open :( 7.4 years ago

    @Kevinairlines that's fine, thank you!

  • Taking mod parts requests Not Open :( 7.4 years ago

    If you're still doing this, could you make a VTOL engine with 0.1 (one tenth) the power?

  • Favorite Airport? 7.4 years ago

    Yeager ftw

  • Donar H2+ 7.4 years ago

    @JeffreyD2015 I don't know if I'll upload it, but I'm trying to make a rock crawler into a crawler/rally car. My problem was the suspension was too soft so this should fix it

  • Donar H2+ 7.5 years ago

    This suspension is amazing!! I'm probably going to use that technique to stop it from compressing any further in another build, I've been trying to figure out how to do that for a while now

  • Heavy lifting helicopters? 7.5 years ago

    @PilotOfFuture it's a massive contraption thing that picks up a convoy truck, and I just estimated it would weigh about 20k. I made a working car version and my goal is to take one all the way from krackabloa to the original island haha

  • Heavy lifting helicopters? 7.5 years ago

    @PilotOfFuture thanks, it works wonderfully! Just added a more powerful VTOL and I'll need more fuel, but other than that it's a really nice stable platform

  • Strap Something to a Plane Challenge|CLOSED 7.5 years ago

    Am I allowed to use modded parts I've scrapped from other builds? I'm on iOS so I can't do it myself

  • Piston XML mod request 7.5 years ago

    @destroyerP thanks!

  • GP-199 Typhoon Trembler 7.8 years ago

    @Geekpride impressive! I've known about this glitch and tried to use it before. You're right that it has to do with the wing loading, and speed + G forces make the wings flutter. My problem was that the lower powered device it runs on, the easier it is to achieve the flutter. And since I'm on mobile and the tournament is run on PC, the plane would go crazy and rip itself apart on Andrew's computer. It happened once when I wasn't even trying to make a plane use this glitch lol
