The Jaguar XJ (XJ40) is a full-size luxury sedan manufactured by Jaguar Cars between 1986 and 1994. It was officially unveiled on 8 October 1986 as an all-new, second generation of the XJ to replace the Series III, although the two model ranges were sold concurrently until the Series III was discontinued in 1992. The XJ40 used the Jaguar independent rear suspension arrangement, and featured a number of technological enhancements (such as electronic instrument cluster). The 1993 XJ6 earned the title of "Safest Car in Britain" as the result of a government survey. The original 1986 car gave way to the heavily revised X300 model in 1994, followed by the X308 version in 1997. The XJ40 and its later derivatives, is to date, the second longest running Jaguar XJ platform with a total production run of 17 years.
Throughout the 1970s Jaguar had been developing "Project XJ40", which was an all-new model intended to replace the original XJ6. Scale models were being built as early as 1972. Due to the 1973 oil crisis and problems at parent company British Leyland, the car was continually delayed. Proposals from both Jaguar's in-house designers and Pininfarina were received. Eventually, it was decided an internal design would be carried through to production and, in February 1981, the British Leyland board approved £80 million to produce the new car. Launch was originally scheduled for 1984, but following Jaguar's de-merger from BL and privatization that same year, the company's CEO Sir John Egan took advantage of the resurgence in sales of the existing Series III XJ6 (particularly in the lucrative North American market) to delay the XJ40's launch a further two years to allow for more development time. The XJ40 was at the time, the most extensively tested vehicle the company had ever developed.
Designs for the XJ40 pioneered significant improvements to how Jaguar cars were designed, built, and assembled. Among these improvements was a 25% reduction in the number of bodywork panels required per car (e.g. three pressings needed for a Series 3 door compared with one for a XJ40 door), resulting in not only a more efficient assembly process, but also a weight saving and a stiffer structure.
@WiiMini @banbantheman Either way, directly referring to a user like this will cause a lot of unnecessary bs, I can guarantee that you do not need to make a forum post to get it deleted, the mods are not that inactive.
It's scummy to steal builds, but it's also a really bad idea to take it to the forums and try to spread the name; that's essentially targeted harassment.
wow, it's been a while since I've seen someone mention TSAD. Cool group, cool planes. As for the question, I feel like it's subjective. Some people like interiors and some don't. That can be because of part count, flight model complexity, style, etc. I personally like both just as much. They have their own upsides and unique features.
@ACEPILOT109 The post was never about hating on anyone. Again, if that was the case, Vito would've tried starting some drama himself by directly saying something hurtful about kor or some other builder. All you did was put 2 and 2 together and thought "well it's my build, so that means the post is all about me just because it has my plane in it." That's not how that works. If I showed you two houses and said one house looks lower quality than the other do you think the builder of the second house would come up and say "OH SO IT'S ABOUT ME? YOU'RE JUST HATING!!" No, because that isn't how things work.
Are people not allowed to make comparisons all the sudden? We're allowed to make what we want, so I'd imagine we would be able to form our own opinion without some dumb drama-inducing response post. He was using the pictures as an example of the drop in quality between the times, and he was telling that from his perspective. Vito is not a walking archive that has all the opinions of every user in the site, and it wasn't a targeted attack. If that was the goal, we probably would've wanted to argue with you or directly mention Kor. As for the lack of 'how to fix it', people have been constantly giving others constrictive criticism, and some builders today don't listen to it and reject help, resulting in the lower quality posts.
@KnightOfRen My comment wasn't specifically towards you, but if you took it like that then it probably means you fall somewhere under that statement. Play how you want, yeah. But we're free to give critique just as you're free to build what you like.
@Blue0Bull For some people (I think we both know who i'm referring to) it's in one ear and out the other, hence the low quality posts from high point, although low-experience players.
@Blue0Bull Any defense before we justifiably and reasonably expose your address, name, phone number, social media, attended shcools, IP address, family information, credit card number, bank account number, passport, drivers license and favorite color?
@NumbersNumbersTheMan No... nothing can replace skittles... He was the best damn swiffer mop the world ever had... and it ended too soon. This says a lot about society.
"Hey guys I just needed to announce that my pet swiffer mop named skittles has tragically passed away, I will be taking an 8 hour break from this website... please upvote my post and give me condolences... maybe some head" :(((
@AzureCorp spefyjerbf. He makes builds similar to this style. Say, I don't think i've seen him around at all lately. He hasn't really said anything recently and just went silent... I wonder where he is 🤔
@BagelPlane Odd, i've never had an issue like that when a glass piece gets destroyed. Is it for every one of your aircraft that use glass or is it just that one?
@PlanumConditorem Give it time, the mods have to deal with a lot of cases like this. Sometimes you don't know about it because of how quick they are able to delete most of them.
lol yes and i'm sure the people at Lockheed would be happy to know their new employee was disclosing information about building a VTOL engine... But Lockheed doesn't even build engines.
How about this -
1. Stop logging arguments.
2. Just report/let it die out.
3. Stop filling the forums with posts that bring the drama to more people's attention.
4. Stop trying to target users and using the forums as a weapon to send hate to other users.
I know for a fact you have at least 2-3 deleted posts trying to flame lower point users because of some rule they broke or the amount of upvotes they got. You're no better than any of the people you deem 'scummy'
Stop the BS. Stop the baby raging, stop the pouting. Just block them or move on. Stop bringing this stupid crap on the forums for everyone on the site to see. It's not the community, it's you.
That's usually what happens when something is shot off of a plane. In SP the destruction of pretty much any part of a plane can throw the entire thing off balance. Still better than pre-1.7 when you got one-shotted by anything.
This thing made me cry. It's so perfect. My computer also made a loud whining noise similar to crying just due to the flawlessness of this masterpiece.
where is it

There were and still are a lot of people who do this, just report and move on. Don't give them attention even if it's negative.
+3@TheDerpingMemes A lockheed martin employee patented a concept not an engine. Check your sources before you make up dumb bs.

Ah, a fellow Tom Clancy reader
You don't need two different forum posts to write two sentences.
Good job on trying to direct hate and harassment towards another user on the site, you're really showing those "scummy players" who's boss.
