Most planes have a tendency of looking worse but not bad in the cross-section.
the plane of which you gave as an example, in my opinion, doesn't look so good in the thumbnail either, the decals that stick out, the fuselage back stabilizer, and the stock control surfaces.
A cross section is only there to give you an idea of proportions etc.
(and it usually always looks terrible)
@ChiChiWerx double ping, but, I made the slats a bit complicated with the deployment, so they only deploy with flaps, lol.
Speed loss during turns was achieved by an airbrake that extended more the more G's you pulled (It would extend fully at 13 or 15 i think.)
However, I am not aware of the problem with the stall speed, when I tested, it felt fine so I didn't feel the need to tweak it any further.

@lemoose Its not a detail, its a necessary part of building, or a method you need to use in some cases.
