@exosuit try and think of it like this your building something that is perfectly symmetrical but every part of it is able to be turned into one part making it the same exact thing just with less parts

It however does have a few nonprofits if you make a merge group with less then 20 parts it would have a larger file size than a merge group with more parts I don’t know exactly why this happens it just does. It would also take a little longer to make builds using this because you would have to select each and every part manually and assign them to a specific group.
@exosuit no it doesn’t I just if you move the view around a 1k part build in a the build screen it lags way less that if you move the view around a 1k part build in the loaded screen that’s because there are more things the game is calculating in the loaded screen like voxels aka terrain and water, ai for planes boats and the ground vehicles, and even damage and movement part physics. It doesn’t combine multiple pieces into one piece go make a builds with a shit ton of details and put a basic ammo type cannon with minimum velocity minimum rate of fire and max ammo facing directly up and just start shootings you’ll see that it still counts ever singe part as well a single part what I am trying to say is combine all of those parts together to make 1 part with the same combined health drag and everything else by selecting groups of parts and pressing a option button that makes them all one piece. I really can’t think of a easier way to explain what I am trying to say.
@exosuit think of it as takeing 50 parts attached to each and pressing a button that make all 50 parts 1 part with the same paint pattern and everything while also lowering the volume
@exosuit no not really what I mean is like is to be able to select multiple fuselage blocks or other blocks and merge them together to create a one single piece doing this would lower the parts back down and make it less laggy
I made this so that I could still make everyone something to play around with while I am still waiting for someone to finish something on my current build I’m just gonna say I’m really excited about this build.
The maximum I can run before I start to lag is 500 pieces so if you take into consideration my current build I am working on has at least 595 parts at the moment I am over that limit but if this were to be implemented I could build much much bigger and better things.
That’s already in the game they are settings in overload lockTime for lock on delay and maxRange/minRange sets a distance cap also here are a few other things firingDelay to make them fire faster or longer maxSpeed to give them a custom speed maxTargetingAngle lets you increase or decrease the lock circle max you can put is 360 and the minimum you can put is 1 maxFuelTime let’s you make it so it will run out of fuel there are a whole bunch of things you can do with each and every part those are all of the ones I can think of at the top of my head for missiles. Also if you put name in the weapons overload section you can give it a custom name the only weapon you can’t use the name option on if the minigun and the machine gun. @Trumanthetiger270

Railgun projects theoretically can be explosive also they are different from basic Because it would pretty much go straight through the entire craft damaging things along the way the basic shot only damages one part most of the time. @ArcturusAerospace

@exosuit it would reduce lag in the loaded screen but not the build screen because once you load the craft it would not load the extra polygons
