@Ian1231100 There's a number of things that need correcting. The Centre of Mass (the red sphere) is behind the centre of lift (blue sphere). This results in a very unstable design that contributes to the back flips that you describe. The pitching down is to do with your wing setup. Your wings aren't forward enough from the centre of mass to generate a positive pitching force. Your tail also has a semi symmetric aerofoil selected. Traditionally, only the wings should be the primary lift generation device. Having a large amount of lift generated from the rear of the aircraft results in the tail being pulled up and thus the nose pitches downward.
.
I'm able to partly resolve the issues mentioned above and I could upload it privately for you to download, but if I was to fix it properly, I'd have to take a lot of things apart.
.
Also, the A-10's centre of thrust is above the centre of mass, so the engines are actually pushing the nose of the aircraft down. That's not your fault though.
@AnarchistAerospaceIndustries I said the same thing on KDS's post. But legal reasons, etc aside. Could you imagine how overwhelming the number of applications would be if under 16's were allowed to apply? Even you yourself said the majority of users are under 16. You have to remember these are game developers, not employers.
@KingDeadshot I'm still a nerd living in a basement... About an hour ago I was reading up on the 5th and 6th dimentions. I've only left my bedroom to get food and to occasionally do this thing that people call "socialising". XD
I think most car type creations have a habit of rolling. A lot of my current ones do. But yes, this is quite fun to mess around with. And it looks nice too!!
@Meawk They already have, I've counted numerous ones. I think @TheLatentImage uploaded the "original" one first. But I didn't see it until I posted this.
@Johndfg I have no problem with it, I've only really got the one set of notifications and I have nothing better to do as of now XD
@General360 There's no apology needed. If it helps take a break. As a community we have all contributed to this toxic mess one way or another. Leaving altogether is not the way to go. People will miss your uploads, I will miss your uploads. But, if it's a problem, take a short break and wait for this whole thing to blow over. I'll do what I can to help, but I'm not making promises.
@General360 Hey, this is getting blown way out of proportion. It was a simple disagreement and a couple of bad assumptions. Is there any chance you can link me to said post so I can put a few things straight?
@General360 I would be inclined to differ with your opinion on that matter. However, I believe it's a case of being your own worse critic. The situation we've both found ourself in probably doesn't contribute much either.
@General360 You're blowing this way out of proportion. All I'm literally saying is that you shouldn't call people out for using words in the correct context.
@General360 Because that's exactly what I want you to do... I'm simply saying you shouldn't publicly call people out for matters you yourself don't fully understand. You aren't a burden, I actually considered you a fairly decent person with good moral grounds. I question it now, but that doesn't mean to say you have to quit because you put one foot wrong.
@General360 Also, cancer is a legitimate way to describe: "an evil or destructive practice or phenomenon that is hard to contain or eradicate.
"racism is a cancer sweeping across Europe""
So in context, I have every right to say what I did, because I didn't say it as a joke and from a grammatical stand point it's correct.
@General360 No. In no way was I making fun out of cancer. Cancer ruined the early years of my teenage life. My inspiration and the reason I'm here where I am now was taken from my Grandpa. During his last months, I would go to the hospital stand at the edge of his bed. I wouldn't cry, I refused to in front of him. But at home, for many many nights I'd lie awake cursing the cancer within him. I wished for a miracle, I even prayed to God, which is saying something as I was an atheist at the time.
I watched my Grandpa, my motivation, my inspiration be slowly taken away day by day, night by night by the devil that was inside him. Occasionally, even now I will stay up at night thinking of him, I will even catch a tear rolling down my face every now and then.
I hate to talk about it, even now. But you have forced me into a corner, publicly tried to humiliate me for taking something the wrong way. You're right, cancer isn't a joke, but Hell have I got the right to insult it in every damn way I can. Because, for a time, it took away everything I had.
So delete your self-righteous post and comments and I will delete this comment.
@jpower Then if you're building for the community, why do you care so much about points? Points are a personal thing that allow others to tell you what they think of their creation. A way of showing their appreciation.
From that I can kind of understand your position, however you've only been consistently active for less than a month and have only uploaded 11 planes in total, 4 of which seem very similar in design, at least the aft sections do.
No matter how you cut it, getting the sudden recognition you're expecting is simply close to impossible.
@jpower Then (at least to me) you're building for the wrong reasons. You build because you want to build, not because you think others will want you to. That mindset will only set you up for the long route around.
@DatWalrus I'm pretty sure evey user including myself has gone through that. I remember making my ES-8. It was pretty revolutionary. It had a set of projectiles (this was back before weapons) that I'd made. I was so proud of it and I messed about with it for hours. It only ever got 1 upvote though. Was I unhappy? No. It was mine and I knew nothing had been made like it before. The thought that I'd brought something new to the table was better than any number of upvotes. Did I want people to see? Yes, of course I did. But I didn't let that get to me, because I was building for myself, not others.
@jpower It will be worth something. But like I've stated numerous times. When you build something, you build what you want, not what you think other people will want.
@DatWalrus This is what I mean. It's not about getting noticed, it's about making things you want to make and being happy and proud of what you have created.
@DeezDucks Exactly. If anything complaining about it is a bandage over the problem. In the short run it'll get you upvotes through sympathy. But there will become a point where people will no longer care.
@jsaret Fuselage blocks. They have no fuel in them or weight.
@Flightsonic If that's the case then I'll either have to find a way around it or upload it as it is. I've got three rotators connected to one point and it's just as bad as it would be with just one.
@Thefalloutplayr I can only assume it's the B-29. It ended Americas conflict with Japan, so I guess you could argue it "won" the war. That said, with that logic, you could argue that it started the cold war.
That said, the B-29 didn't single handedly win the war. Nations uniting and fighting for a common cause was what won it.
@AndrewGarrison I fixed my problem. I remembered that I'd attempted to scale an engine, but after I couldn't find a scale option in the XML file, I thought that the XML version might have something to do with the scaling, so I changed it to a value of 4. I've gone back and deleted the file while the game was running (steam will just update the files otherwise) and now it works fine!
Thank you everyone for taking time out to help a fellow plane builder!

This is actually a lot of fun to mess about with!
@General360 I would be inclined to differ with your opinion on that matter. However, I believe it's a case of being your own worse critic. The situation we've both found ourself in probably doesn't contribute much either.

@General360 Also, explain why it is "just wrong" to insult cancer and use the word in the correct context?
@General360 Also, cancer is a legitimate way to describe: "an evil or destructive practice or phenomenon that is hard to contain or eradicate.

@General360 was using it as a metaphor for something that is growing uncontrollably. And nothing in this post is a joke.
@Flightsonic I'm not going to lie. It's nice to have the upvotes and the attention with it, but like I say, that's not my primary objective.
@jpower Then if you're building for the community, why do you care so much about points? Points are a personal thing that allow others to tell you what they think of their creation. A way of showing their appreciation.
