By deleting the dead weight in the nose, your CoM moves closer to your main landing gear, which makes the takeoff roll much shorter. Fantastic flying aircraft, though!
I would change the bottom corners of the piece aft of the cockpit to hard so they will be flush with the rest of the fuselage. Also, if you moved the main landing gears slightly forward, closer to the COM, you will get a lower takeoff speed. Fantastic flying aircraft!
You need to put some weight other than fuel forward of the COL. Fuel works to balance it, but only when there is enough left to counteract the weight. So, after a few minutes of flying, the weight shifts behind COL and it becomes unstable. Great aircraft though.

By moving the main landing gear just behind the CoG, you can decrease the T/O speed about 20mph. Fantastic design though!
