@Sunnyskies thanks for the tips, I appreciate it. I'm torn between reading this properly and doing an X-29 but I'm definitely going to redo it at some point now.
Well, I've done it on every difficulty with s rank, if I remember right. Maybe got an A on some but I think I did the whole thing. I was very into ace combat...
@ironfondue that's how the nose is on the real(virtual) plane, kinda chisel nosed. Yeah just used text editor and a pen and paper to note down positions and part names
@Kimo @salisbey That's the point of it, early British planes were plagued with lack of power do the joke is that it can barely get off the ground. Not to mention some of them were a bit weird looking!
@Baldovino Yeah 15 was fine for the elevons, I used 8 degrees for the ruddervators which I made myself. Took a while! I also Modded them so the rotators were all in the same spot
Maybe you've got wings inside wings in one side? Its what happens to me sometimes. As for the wings flexing I use @Planesofold 's Toolbox, there's a wing in there that doesn't flex, I use it in my swing wing planes
I tried tripling the power of my xfa27,but it didn't change much. 8x power is better but the fuel consumption is killing my range. Currently having headaches trying to get an unlimited fuel part to fit!
I'm not entirely sure since I lost all mine ha. If you can go into a file manager and get your designs from the data folder (where you do xml modding) and make a copy somewhere else? But you're on iOS so... I guess you could upload them all to here and just keep the unfinished/unreleased ones private? @hadesrocksz
@Ironghost Yeah it's interesting, if only they were built well enough to be around today. There are some cool upgraded versions that were being planned as well, forward swept wings and stuff like that.
Agreed. I think a lot depends on when you release aircraft too. Like my Crimson skies plane got a ton of downloads, but ones I've made since (that are better imo) get a lot less usually. Just luck I suppose
@Ironghost Yeah it can be a pain. Did you know you can put the vtol engine to one side (not attached to plane) and it'll still power the RCNs? It won't power the actual nozzles though :(
It would been nice if you asked to borrow this and the other one.. I know I didn't make the originals but I still asked if I could use them to make a new plane..
If you put the rocket pods on the wings and centralise the engines a bit more you should get some stability back. Just watch the centre of gravity, I tuned it for vtol more than forward flight
@TheLieutenant im not sie how you're engines are laid out but i had a standard engine on a swivel for vtol, that was just behind the cockpit and would swivel flush behind it. With the intake fitted it still rotated and had enough air
@Sunnyskies thanks for the tips, I appreciate it. I'm torn between reading this properly and doing an X-29 but I'm definitely going to redo it at some point now.
@sunnyskies here's another one I did around the same time
@sunnyskies wanna review this? It's one of the first planes I posted here, considering a redo
Hey, can I use an adapted version of your engine exhausts? I'm working on a MiG-31 and need a dummy exhaust for it.
Well, I've done it on every difficulty with s rank, if I remember right. Maybe got an A on some but I think I did the whole thing. I was very into ace combat...
Um Thanks I guess
@Skua A-ha, makes sense now. Thanks for sharing that little secret
@ironfondue that's how the nose is on the real(virtual) plane, kinda chisel nosed. Yeah just used text editor and a pen and paper to note down positions and part names
@RASEN1914 cool, I like it. I've got a few similar planes like my messerwerk, take a look!
Does the prop on the front produce much power or is it like the spinner on the me163 Komet?
@Kimo @salisbey That's the point of it, early British planes were plagued with lack of power do the joke is that it can barely get off the ground. Not to mention some of them were a bit weird looking!
@Kimo thanks!
Wow
This was next on my list after my xfa27, but you've done it already! I was having hassle with intake placement. Looks great
https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/6CnW59/XFA-27-Scarface-Xml-Modded my entry
What are the differences between the 3 types?
Why don't you just download someone else's one? Seeing as I've made mine less realistic than kurttanks one I started from
No vtol though :p
Thanks, took a lot of work!
@Baldovino Yeah 15 was fine for the elevons, I used 8 degrees for the ruddervators which I made myself. Took a while! I also Modded them so the rotators were all in the same spot
@Baldovino I've got it up now, thanks!
@Planeengineer31625324 just rotate the engine do they face down. The weapons might have put the centre of mass off though
@Baldovino Oh dear. Someones not been taking their imagination pills!
Have you actually changed anything on this?
To get a ground launch you could try using a detacher piece on a rail?
I'll be using this in my modded xfa27, if that's OK with you? I'll put your name in the description of course
You gotta swap the colours round on the roundels! Blue is on the outside (red outside is French if I remember right)
Maybe you've got wings inside wings in one side? Its what happens to me sometimes. As for the wings flexing I use @Planesofold 's Toolbox, there's a wing in there that doesn't flex, I use it in my swing wing planes
@JMicah4 thanks but I figured out where to put it, I kept disconnecting the parts so it was getting crazy with the weight
I tried tripling the power of my xfa27,but it didn't change much. 8x power is better but the fuel consumption is killing my range. Currently having headaches trying to get an unlimited fuel part to fit!
Does anyone know if engine power works in a multiplier way? I.e if I want a jet engine 3x more powerful do I change the max to 3?
Cool. You know if you make the nose small, place the gun then make it normal size again it puts the gun inside the nose?

Clean lines and good handling, I like it
Make sure you backup your planes and subassemblies, I lost most of mine when I re installed :/
@Baldovino you're welcome, keep up the good work!
@Ironghost Yeah it's interesting, if only they were built well enough to be around today. There are some cool upgraded versions that were being planned as well, forward swept wings and stuff like that.
I like the wing /prop arrangement on this

The pitch is sometimes swapped for the 2 control surfaces too so play around with that.
If you shrink the nose down and put the guns there, then bring it up to normal size again you get nose mounted guns
@Ironghost Yeah it can be a pain. Did you know you can put the vtol engine to one side (not attached to plane) and it'll still power the RCNs? It won't power the actual nozzles though :(
Feels like the CoT is too far back but I can see that the CoM and CoL is stopping you from changing it further back
Dangit I was gonna build this but kept getting headaches over the design! Nice work!
I've never heard of an FA21,is it from a film or something? I've got some VTOL stuff planned soon too
It would been nice if you asked to borrow this and the other one.. I know I didn't make the originals but I still asked if I could use them to make a new plane..

@Chemicalau Yeah I did, I can tell a lot of practice went into that takeoff!
I like it, bit hard to flip though since its matched to yaw
