@JaySto I think it would only work on vr but I have have small joystick handles hidden in the knobs on either side at the bottom of the directional gyro’s frame. If you grab them in vr, it should latch onto them where you can twist them to adjust the heading bug and the heading. Let me know if that helps!
@ImSimon Once the engine is running you can twist the throttle, which is located at the end of the collective to your left. Also, the blades will only spin once the clutch has fully engaged.
Let me know if this helps, I can also publish a video of the startup on YouTube if needed
@SuperVirus38 That’s awesome you remembered it so fast! It usually takes a while to pick these things up!
As for ground effect, I think simpleplanes already has ground effect built into the rotor blade’s xml variables. I can’t remember if I modified it but if it is set right, you should notice it start to need less power once you are one rotor diameter’s width above ground level.
For an Apache, I don’t know how accurate I could make one since I’ve never flown or seen one up close, but I might be able to make a plausible replica based on publicly available information! That might be a fun project in the future.
@JPplays The mixture is connected to Group 1 which is either 0 or 1 so it can only be pushed all the way in or pulled all the way out. Try pushing it further forward and let me know if you’re still having trouble
@ollielebanania Thank you, that's awesome to hear, I didn't even realize that anyone still remembered it! I saw the trailer for Simpleplanes 2 and figured I better post it now in case it won't be compatible.
@PriusCat I think most of the switches work through variables, I went back and checked and noticed that the fuel mixture is linked to group 1 and the clutch group 2. I like the aftermarket doors idea! I’d love to see them when you’re done lol
@Apollo018362 The RPM gauge is the one on the bottom left that says “Throttle”. The smaller needle represents Engine RPM while the fat one is Rotor RPM. The green range is the normal operating range for the rotor in flight, while the red spots are the limits
Note
If you’re having trouble with the startup procedure, try this version which comes already started. Just note that some of the features will not work.
Awesome build! I like the clean edges
@SomeAircraftGuy Smol gadget is troo

Awesome design
This is awesome. It feels so clean. This is one of my favorites now, the design is wicked. I like the note on the skids too lol
lol Thanks for featuring the Midge! Awesome video
@DarkZk Absolutely, I’ll record the startup procedure and share it. Is there any particular part of the startup that you’re unsure about?
